Sarah Palin Earns Money… Get Over It

By Stacy Drake

I wanted to address this a couple days ago but I’m just getting around to it now. Considering this is an ongoing “non-troversy” for the left and their media, I figure it sort of has indefinite relevancy.

At the beginning of this week, the leftist media spent dozens of man hours spewing out the same, tired old theme. That being the fact that Sarah Palin makes money and for some reason the world should be outraged about it. I understand why they would try this trick in the beginning. I get that the left has to throw the entire kitchen sink at Governor Palin, due to her Teflon ‘mojo.’ But still, I find this absolutely ridiculous. They are making themselves look very foolish to anyone paying attention.

After the speech Palin gave in Turlock for the 50th Anniversary of CSU Stanislaus, and the subsequent harassment she, as well as the organizers of the event received for doing such – it goes back to this theme. It is a pure political strike conducted by left-wing officials and their close friends in the press. No other former public servant, or possible future candidate has had to deal with this sort of scrutiny on their wallets. You just never see hundreds of stories all lined up disclosing the amount any other candidate is paid for anything they do, unless they are corrupted or abusing tax-dollars. Well, Sarah Palin has never been corrupt, she is a private citizen, getting paid with private dollars, and the only one getting abused here are her and her family.

What happened in California was an embarrassment to me as a Californian. Yes, I have to live with these left-wing lunatics. And no, having their heads examined doesn’t help. Fortunately for me I live in a military city, so I am surrounded by level-headed, reality based folks. My friends in Los Angeles are not so lucky.

I think one of the worst aspects of the treatment Sarah Palin received in California, is that it was started by government officials. Jerry Brown made a mockery of his elected office by assisting in the stunt created by the future wannabe Candidate for San Francisco Mayor, and former Hawaiian shoplifter, Leland Yee. I wrote about this before here and here.

They tried to bully the organizers of the CSU event and bully Sarah Palin with the use of orchestrated theatrics for the all too available news cameras, and with the help of “dumpster diving” students. By the way, to those young girls that went dumpster diving for this state government witch-hunt… That was really lame. I’m in my early thirties, but have things changed that much since I was your age? I wouldn’t have been caught dead digging in the trash for “The Man back then. Lame.

Governor Palin asked Jerry Brown from the podium at the speech in Turlock a very interesting, very valid question. She said, This is California. Do you really not have anything better to do? Great question, governor! I happen to know for a fact that he does.

California is a mess any way you slice it. I have never witnessed Jerry Brown do anything with his department to help correct the dire state of our state. In fact, Jerry Brown is the person most responsible for unionizing the public employees here with SEIU, whose pensions are one of the main culprits for the current fiscal mess that IS California. And guess what… Jerry Brown earns his income from tax-dollars so perhaps a little more scrutiny on Moonbeam is a good idea.

Back in March, I wrote a post about this ongoing phony outrage over speaking fees, and why I think the left uses this trick to put a wedge in between Sarah Palin and her supporters. It said:

This is why Governor Palin’s detractors are never concerned with the speaking fees of Al Gore or even Mitt Romney. They aren’t members or leaders of the working class. They are fellow members of the same elite establishment that leftist media belongs to.

So the main reason for such reporting and documenting of every dollar Sarah Palin makes is nothing more than the establishment and the lefty press trying to put a wedge between Palin and her supporters. They think, falsely that Governor Palin will lose some of that “street cred” they admit exists if she makes some money. Just look at any comment section of a mainstream news site. You will no doubt see any number of leftists repeating the same meme that “she’s only in it for the money!” … Rubbish!

Working class Americans who support Governor Palin mostly come from a conservative worldview. The left seems to be confusing their own populist rhetoric with the true concerns of the modern populist movement. Conservatives don’t begrudge people for making an honest living. And while the left constantly tries to say she is paid too much for giving speeches and such, these people are no experts on the going rate of high profile speakers. It’s just more phony negative narratives about Governor Palin from the left.

While I still agree with my own assessment there, I think it is more than that at this stage. I think it is also a diversionary tactic meant to drown out Governor Palin’s message. As Don Surber noted the other day in his piece titled “AP fights to cover a speech it then didn’t cover,” he said (emphasis mine):

The Associated Press and other news organizations fought to get permission to cover the speech.

But what exactly did Palin say?

One cannot tell from the Associated Press. All the story talked about was the process. The story was long on Dumpster-diving students who tried to get her speech engagement contract and other liberal-manufactured controversies around the woman’s speech.

But the speech itself?

Garance Burke of the Associated Press failed to report it. His whole story was about the various controversies stirred up by liberals.

You can read his entire article here

So there you go… The media is actively helping their political allies mask out Sarah Palin’s words and push phony controversy to dilute what the public at large thinks about her. If it causes a rift with her own supporters, well then that’s fine too for these people who are nothing more than undercover activists.

I do wonder however, if they realize what a bunch of outright hypocrites they look like. They take home a paycheck. They think they serve the public, yet none of them are disclosing all the fine details in the contracts with their employers. Doesn’t the public have a right to know? Why are their companies making money? Aren’t they supposed to be serving the greater good?

It’s nonsense, they know, Governor Palin knows it, those of us paying attention know it, and the general public with busy lives trying to make ends meet – the one’s these people give no credit of processing any intellectual prowess – they get it too. The only people “outraged” by Governor Palin making an income are people who are faking it for political reasons.

Oh Noes! Sarah Palin Is Human!

By Gary P Jackson

Yes, yes, I know when we see Sarah Palin we see a strong, powerful woman. We see a warrior. A woman who takes no prisoners and gives no quarter. We see an accomplished leader with an incredible record of reforming and streamlining government.

Knowing all if this, and much more, it’s sometimes easy to forget she’s only human. Yes Sarah, like the rest of us, is capable of making mistakes, especially when speaking off the cuff. Having done it for years, I can tell ya, it ain’t as easy as it looks.

It seems that when Sarah visited California State University at Stanislaus last week, she miss-spoke while talking about her hero, and mine, Ronald Reagan. During her speech, while talking about Reagan, small town values, and trying to tie that together with the fact Reagan moved to California, and how that shaped him, she got ahead of herself. Sarah was talking about Eureka College, which of course is in Illinois, but it came out “Eureka, California” as you’ll see in the video below:

Now obviously, as a student of Ronald Reagan, Sarah knows he went to Eureka College in ILLINOIS. How do I know this for a fact? Well it’s easy, not that long ago Sarah was in Illinois, speaking at Five Points Washington.

Karen McDonald from Peoria’s Journal Star reported at the time:

Palin commented on the Land of Lincoln having a “most diverse political scene” and referenced the “Will it play in Peoria?” cliche.

Nobody here is ordinary. … Much of the eyes of America are on this part of our nation because this is a representation of good, hard-working, grounded, unpretentious, patriotic Americans,” she said.

One of those people, Palin said, is former President Ronald Reagan, a Eureka College graduate, who believed in limited government in order to expand opportunity and prosperity. Reagan was a Midwestern boy who understood the importance of work ethic, not entitlement, she said.

We need a dose of that Midwestern common sense now more than ever,” Palin said.

John Morris, director of development for the Ronald W. Reagan Leadership Program and Ronald Reagan Museum at Eureka College, said remarks about the college by a potential Republican candidate for president in 2012 are “thrilling.”

Eureka College is a national living legacy to this story that in America you can come from anywhere and with the right values you can go on to help change the world. Eureka College is the living legacy to the story of Ronald Reagan,” Morris said.

You can read the entire article here.

Now that should be that, end of story, but of course, it isn’t.

Evidently the left wing in this country is just as shocked as we are to find out that Sarah Palin is indeed human, and capable of miss-speaking. Now I get that, considering she has been kicking their tails from one end of this country to the other for the last year or more.

The woman has laid bare their Dear Leader for all to see. She’s exposed Obama for what he is: a corrupt, Chicago street thug, and nothing more.

So shocked are the Marxist-progressives to learn Sarah Palin, their  bête noire, is but a mere mortal, they can’t stop talking about her gaffe. It’s understandable.

Of course, it just might be a bit of misdirection on their part. You see for all of the insanity, brought on by the left before her incredible speech that night, in the end, Sarah Palin raised more money than any speaker in CSU Stanislaus history!

After the dust settled, and all bills were paid, the university netted $200,000. That’s big money in anyone’s book, and again, a record for the university.

Now this is Northern California. The university, which is located in Turlock, is less than 100 miles from San Francisco. I mean this is right in the belly of the communist beast! This is serious business.

How would the Marxists in San Francisco ever be able to explain how that moose huntin’ hockey mom from Wasilla, Alaska was such a hit in own their backyard?

Think about it. If Sarah Palin can raise more money than any speaker in history, in the shadow of the most Marxist-progressive city in the country, that means come 2012, Barack Obama wouldn’t have a prayer against her in the state, IF (more like when) she runs for President.

One can only imagine the cold sweats Marxists all over the country broke out in once they realized this.

Now this is before we even talk about the speech itself! A lot has been made about the “reporters” caught on tape after the speech, but again, that’s just mis-direction. The radicals will do absolutely anything to keep you from actually listening to Sarah Palin’s words.

This was a great speech. Different than some of her latest. She wasn’t there to rip Obama apart, she would do that the next night in Tyler, Texas and over the weekend in Virginia! No, this was a speech about American values, American exceptionalism, and the need to get back to the basics in education. Three more things that make the left break out in a cold sweat.

So …. it’s kinda understandable that the Marxists and their media partners would make a big deal out of all of this. They absolutely must take your mind off the fact that Sarah Palin kicks ass!

Of course, the Dear Leader, Captain Kick Ass, and his lovable side kick, Vice President Smart Ass would never screw up, ever …. or would they.

Here Obama says he’s been to 57 states, with one, possibly two, that he wasn’t allowed to see.

Here’s the most gifted speaker that ever breathed not only speaking rather incoherently, because he was working without his trusty TOTUS (Teleprompter of the United States) by his side, but also claiming a child, suffering from an asthma attack, needs a breathalyzer for treatment. In all fairness, after stumbling, he gets it right, but this still makes for great TV!

And who could forget when this genius claimed that doctors were taking out children’s tonsils to make more money.

Even better, here he accuses doctors of allowing obese people to become diabetics, so at some point, they can make $30,000 …. $40,000 …. or possibly $50,000 by amputating their feet!

According to Cheryl Clark, at HealthLeaders Media:

President Obama got his facts completely wrong,” according to a statement from the ACS, whose 74,000 members make it the largest organization of surgeons in the world.

In fact, Medicare pays a surgeon between $740 and $1,140 for a leg amputation,” sais ACS, which is care that includes evaluation of the patient the day of the operation and follow-up care that is provided for 90 days after the operation.

Private insurers pay a variation of the same amount, said the group, adding that it is “deeply disturbed” over the President’s “uninformed public comments.

Of course who could forget that Obama thinks people in Austria speak “Austrian” (about 1:33 in)

For the record, Austrians speak German!

Here’s another classic from the Harvard educated President. Obama thinks Europe is a country!

Now right about now, any left wingers reading this are going to shout: “Oh yeah! Well that crazy moose lady didn’t know Africa was a continent …. So there!

One thing wrong with that, as Frank James noted in the Chicago Tribune, on November 13, 2008, a whole bunch of people, including Fox New’sCampaign Carl” Cameron, owe Sarah Palin a HUGE apology. (Of course, as of this writing, June 29, 2010, she is still waiting for it)

You see the whole thing was a HOAX uncovered by, of all places, the New York Times!

It was among the juicier post-election recriminations: Fox News Channel quoted an unnamed McCain campaign figure as saying that Sarah Palin did not know that Africa was a continent.

Who would say such a thing? On Monday the answer popped up on a blog and popped out of the mouth of David Shuster, an MSNBC anchor. “Turns out it was Martin Eisenstadt, a McCain policy adviser, who has come forward today to identify himself as the source of the leaks,” Mr. Shuster said.

Trouble is, Martin Eisenstadt doesn’t exist. His blog does, but it’s a put-on. The think tank where he is a senior fellow — the Harding Institute for Freedom and Democracy — is just a Web site. The TV clips of him on YouTube are fakes.

And the claim of credit for the Africa anecdote is just the latest ruse by Eisenstadt, who turns out to be a very elaborate hoax that has been going on for months. MSNBC, which quickly corrected the mistake, has plenty of company in being taken in by an Eisenstadt hoax, including The New Republic and The Los Angeles Times.

BTW, “Martin Eisenstadt” was the source of a few more BS stories about Sarah, including the one about her greeting people in a bathrobe at her hotel. It’s sad enough the media fell for the Africa story, but as anyone with any amount of experience, or has ever seen a movie or TV show, would know, the Secret Service would never allow a protectee to open their own door, especially not in a hotel.

Now I promised you some Joe Biden, and God love the man, if we tried to show you all of Joe in his gaffetastic splendor, I fear our servers would explode, so here’s just a few of the thousands that will live on as classics forever.

First off, remember the Vice Presidential debate? The moderator Gwyn Ifel, alluding to the fact that Dick Cheney had been a strong Vice President, asked Sarah if she would carry on in that vein, which she said she would. This caused Biden (and the media) to lose it, as she cited the Constitution. Biden, who actually teaches the Constitution, got it all wrong. They chastised Sarah for weeks though.

Article I, Section 1 makes it clear that the Vice President is the President of the Senate, and while only having a vote in case of tie, has actual powers within the Senate. In fact, during the last hours, when the Marxists were shoving ObamaCare down America’s throat, Biden stood ready, in his capacity as President of the Senate, to overrule the Senate’s parliamentarian, had the Marxists’ plans been thwarted by him.

Of course, that’s heavy stuff, and why should a man who had only been in the Senate for 35 years, and taught the Constitution on weekends, know all of this. Of course, Sarah Palin, the Governor from way up there in Alaska knew it!

Again, that’s heavy stuff. Sheriff Joe does a lot better when you just let him talk!

Here’s Vice President Smart Ass talking about that three letter word J-O-B-S

And who could ever forget Chuck Graham? Stand up Chuck!

While we could do this for hours!

I want to leave you with one of my all time favorites. Knowing she would be interviewing Sarah Palin, and taking a break from her anti-Palin advisers former Senator Sam Nunn and Council on Foreign Relations president Richard Haas, who coached her for the Palin interview, the Perky One did a softball interview with Joe Biden. This is Joe at his absolute gaffetastic best, just makin’ it up as he goes!

As Couric stares lovingly into his eyes, Good old Joe says:

When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the princes of greed,. Look, here’s what happened.

Now I love this one on many levels. First, you got a two-fer. Both Biden and Couric are as clueless as they come. Can you imagine if that was Sarah Palin babbling that nonsense? Couric would have lost her mind right then and there! Instead, she studied up hard on Sarah and was aided by top Marxist-democrat operatives. It’s was almost like the Perky One worked for the DNC. Oh, wait ….

Anyhow, back to the fun. Biden got this so wrong it’s truly phenomenal. I mean a lesser person would have to work hard to do what just comes natural to Biden.

First off, when the Stock Market crashed, in 1929, Herbert Hoover was President. FDR was still the Governor of New York. Roosevelt wouldn’t take office until March of 1933. (presidential inaugurals used to happen in March)

Second, while television was in the concept stage, no such thing, in workable form, existed. FDR’s famous “fireside chats” were all broadcast over the radio. Radio was the way most Americans got their news and entertainment at home. This was true into the 1950’s.

Roosevelt would indeed go on to be the first President to appear on television though. On April 30, 1939 NBC started broadcasting. This was opening day of the New York World’s Fair. This was a weak signal, and there were around 1000 viewers total.

NBC’s experimental New York City station was licensed for commercial telecasts beginning on July 1, 1941.

Read more here.

In case you are wondering, the first televised presidential inaugural was Harry S Truman’s in 1949

As one can see, as shocking as it is to learn that Sarah Palin is a mere mortal, and stumbled while speaking, in the grand scheme of things, others have done far worse.

Don’t let the left wing and their media partners distract you from Sarah Palin’s strong and powerful message, or the positive contributions she is making to our world.

Lisa Murkowski: We Shouldn’t Repeal ObamaCare

By Gary P Jackson

The above video hit my inbox a day ago and serves to remind us all of a real danger America faces: squishy, “moderate” Republicans. Look, we know what we have with the Obama regime, and his Congress. They are all hard core communists, hellbent on grabbing as much power as possible, and destroying the very fabric of American society, hoping to replace it all with their sick vision of life and government. As horrifying as that is, at least we know it, and can fight it. There should be no delusions about who these Marxist-democrats are.

On the other hand, many people see “Republican” and think “conservative” which can be very dangerous. While real conservatives believe in the Constitution and the Rule of Law, these squishy establishment Republicans, like Lisa Murkowski, have no real solid principles, and end up being nothing more than enablers for the Marxist-democrats who are destroying our nation. Many are all too eager to help, so they can say they are “bi-partisan” and call themselves “statesmen.

At the height of the ObamaCare debacle, every Republican was shouting they would indeed make repealing this unconstitutional boondoggle their first act upon taking over Congress. Now we are starting to see the usual suspects backing off of this stance.

While this video is rather short and cuts Senator Murkowski off, it served as a reminder of the great piece Stacy Drake wrote earlier this month on the occasion of Sarah Palin endorsing Murkoski’s opponent Judge Joe Miller, the former Superior Court Master from Fairbanks.

Lisa’s entire statement was:

Repealing this is not the answer in my opinion, because if you just repeal and you do nothing, we will not have addressed health care reform.

Now this is nonsense, as the conservative Republicans have a solid plan that uses market based solutions to bring about much needed reform, including law suit reform. (tort) The conservative Republicans always had a solid, workable plan. It’s ready to go, ready to replace ObamaCare, the second it’s repealed.

You can see a full length video of the Murkowski interview here, and read Stacy Drake’s excellent take on all of this here.

Repealing and replacing ObamaCare with a workable solution is the only way to retain quality health care for all Americans. As we read every day, more and more problems are being found with this insane piece of legislation, that absolutely no one read before voting on, and Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, proclaimed “we’ll have to pass to see what’s in it.

We are learning that health care costs are about to rise greatly, and many employers are looking to discontinue coverage for their employees, due to draconian taxation and regulation brought about by this immoral legislation.

The very idea that Lisa Murkowski views ObamaCare as a “work in progress” is both incredibly troubling and totally distasteful.

This isn’t the first time Lisa Murkowski has sided with the Obama regime over common sense. As Stacy Drake noted,Lisa had this to say about Sarah Palin’s famous “death panels” statement that turned the health care debate on it’s ear:

It does us no good to incite fear in people by saying that there’s these end-of-life provisions, these death panels … Quite honestly, I’m so offended at that terminology because it absolutely isn’t (in the bill). There is no reason to gin up fear in the American public by saying things that are not included in the bill.

Now this is rather pathetic and ignorant on Murkoski’s part, on several levels. For one thing, no one can turn a phrase better than Sarah Palin. She has an extraordinary ability to take a rather involved subject, and distill it down to just a few simple words that say it all. Ronald Reagan called the Soviet Union an “evil empire” George Bush referred to an “axis of evil” when describing our enemies. Important issues require powerful words, and none were more powerful in 2009 than “death panels.

It’s very interesting to note that while every conservative understood almost instinctively what Sarah was talking about: health care RATIONING, the squishy, establishment Republicans got it wrong every single time. They all went on and on about “end of life counseling” a provision where doctors are required to talk to older people, presumably in the last stages of life, about options. As troubling as that is unto itself, it had nothing to do with what Sarah was saying.

When Sarah introduced the world to the phrase “death panels” she also went on to talk about health care rationing, as well as Obama’s very own “Dr Mengele,” Ezekiel Emanuel who authored the “Complete Lives System” a sickening tome that lays out in detail who “deserves” health care, and who doesn’t.

Under ObamaCare, unelected bureaucrats will sit on panels and decide who will and who won’t get care, and by law, there will be no appeal. If that’s not a “death panel” then what the hell is?

To me this shows an incredible amount of ignorance on Murkowski’s part that she didn’t understand what most people got right away. You’d think a United States Senator would possess a minimum amount of reading comprehension skills, but I guess not.

The real problem here though is Murkowski, like the other establishment Republicans, actually likes Big Government, and doesn’t see a problem with ObamaCare, which is the biggest government power grab in the history of our Republic. I find this the biggest danger of all, and why we must send these establishment Republican squishes packing. They’ve enabled the Marxist-democrats in their quest to destroy America enough already.

Thankfully, there is a solid alternative, Joe Miller.

Miller, who has a unique and compelling life story, has been endorsed, most notably, by Sarah Palin, the Tea Party Express, Red State’s Erick Erickson, Dr. Christie Eberhard, the President of Alaska Right to Life, as well as many more listed here.

Joe Miller is a solid, common sense, constitutional conservative. In order to save our nation, we simply must rid ourselves not only of Marxist-democrats, but squishy establishment Republicans as well. We must elect men and women who believe in the Rule of Law, and understand that our Constitution is the supreme law of the land.

You can support Judge Joe Miller by visiting his website at: www.joemiller.us as well as following him on Facebook and Twitter.

Let’s help send Joe Miller to Washington, and Lisa Murkowski packin’!

Israel National News Poll: Sarah Palin Best For Israel In 2012

By Gary P Jackson

Due in no small part to her strong support of Israel, at a time when Barack Obama is actively working against them, readers, voting in an online poll sponsored by Arutz Sheva, the Israel National News, overwhelmingly chose Sarah Palin as their preferred Republican candidate in 2012.

This squares with a report that Peter Beinart filed earlier in his magazine, where he intimated that an Obama regime official told him that the Netanyahu administration was “waiting for President Palin.

In this unscientific polling, Sarah receives 56.3 % of the vote, with Mike Huckabee coming in a distant second with 35.6% and Mitt Romney in third with 7.9%.

Out of the three, Sarah Palin has been the only one consistently standing up for Israel, and consistently calling Obama out for his many betrayals of our Middle East ally.

Sarah Palin, Barack Obama, And The Cost Of Fighting Chicago Thug Politics

By Gary P Jackson

To fully understand how Barack Obama and his Chicago thug politics work, you must know a little history of just how Obama weaseled his way into political office in the first place. The story of how Obama went from a street thug, rabble rouser, and “community organizer” to being the lackey of unrepentant murdering domestic terrorist William Ayers, to an Illinois State Senator, and then a United States Senator, and ultimately President, is a case study in lies, betrayal, and corruption.

This from David Horowitz’s Discover The Networks archives:

The Pro-Soviet Alice Palmer Paves Obama’s Path to Elected Office:

A notable attendee at the aforementioned political gatherings which Ayers and Dohrn hosted on behalf of Obama (in the mid-1990s) was Democratic state senator Alice J. Palmer (of Illinois’ 13th District), who quickly developed a friendly relationship with Obama. Prior to her stint in politics, Palmer had worked for the Black Press Institute and was editor of the Black Press Review. During the Cold War, she supported the Soviet Union and spoke out against the United States. In the 1980s she served as an executive board member of the U.S. Peace Council, which the FBI identified as a Communist front group (and which was an affiliate of the World Peace Council, an international Soviet front). Palmer participated in the World Peace Council’s Prague assembly in 1983 — just as the USSR was launching its “nuclear freeze” movement, a scheme that would have frozen Soviet nuclear and military superiority in place.

State senator Palmer was instrumental in Obama’s entry into politics. In 1995 Palmer decided to pursue an opportunity to run for a higher office when Mel Reynolds, the congressman from Illinois’ 2nd District, resigned from the House of Representatives amid a sexual scandal involving him and an underage campaign volunteer. As Palmer prepared to leave the state senate, she hand-picked Obama as the person she most wanted to fill her newly vacated senate seat. Toward that end, she introduced Obama to party elders and donors as her preferred successor, and helped him gather the signatures required for getting his name placed on the ballot.

Obama Betrays Palmer:

But in November 1995, Jesse Jackson, Jr. defeated Palmer in a special election for Reynolds’ empty congressional seat. At that point, Palmer filed to retain the Democratic nomination for the state senate seat she had encouraged Obama to pursue; that seat would be up for grabs in the November 1996 elections. She asked Obama to politely withdraw from the race and offered to help him find an alternative position elsewhere.

But Obama refused to withdraw, so Palmer resolved to run against him (and two other opponents who also had declared their candidacy) in the 1996 Democratic primary. To get her name placed on the ballot, Palmer hastily gathered more than the minimum number of signatures required. Obama promptly challenged the legitimacy of those signatures and charged Palmer with fraud. A subsequent investigation found that a number of the names on Palmer’s petition were invalid, thus she was knocked off the ballot. (Names could be eliminated from a candidate’s petition for a variety of reasons. For example, if a name was printed rather than written in cursive script, it was considered invalid. Or if the person collecting the signatures was not registered to perform that task, any signatures that he or she had collected likewise were nullified.)

Obama also successfully challenged the signatures gathered by his other two opponents, and both of them were disqualified as well. Consequently, Obama ran unopposed in the Democratic primary and won by default.

I liked Alice Palmer a lot,” Obama would later reflect.I thought she was a good public servant. It [the process by which Obama had gotten Palmer’s name removed from the ballot] was very awkward. That part of it I wish had played out entirely differently.

The statement by Obama is very telling about the man. Here’s someone who made him an instant player in the communist cesspool that is Illinois politics, and he thanks her by betrayal, but felt “awkward” after the fact. He couldn’t have felt all that awkward, because when it came time to run for the United States Senate he had no problem at all using Chicago thug tactics on both his Marxist-democrat primary challenger, as well as his Republican challenger, Jack Ryan.

Many know the Jack Ryan story. But in case one has forgotten, here’s how Obama cleared the way to basically run unopposed.

Jack Ryan was divorced from actress Jeri Ryan.

The Chicago Tribune endorsed Obama’s campaign. This is important because the Tribune persuaded a Marxist-democrat-appointed judge in California to open the sealed divorce records of the couple. The Ryans have a son, and there were some very …. how shall I put this …. odd sexual practices, that had taken place, and not all of it was consensual.

Jeri used this as a basis to take custody of the son. However, thinking of the kid and trying to be good parents, they asked for the records to be sealed, so he would never know what had went on. No need for him to know some of the things dad did, as nothing good would come from it.

Team Obama sure didn’t care about the Ryans’ child. We’ll see this play out later in the way Obama’s surrogates viciously attacked Sarah Palin’s children, DIRECTLY.

The resulting scandal from all of this forced Ryan to drop out of the race. Again, Chicago thug politics, Obama style.

Obama didn’t run unopposed though, at the last possible moment Dr Alan Keyes, a black Conservative, was recruited to try and stop this mad man, but it was just too little, too late, so Barack Obama became the junior Senator from Illinois.

Again, many know that story, but how many know how Obama became the Marxist-democrat party nominee?

Long before there was Jack Ryan, there was Blair Hull.

Hull, who funded himself with $28 million, had a significant lead early on. Then allegations surfaced that he had threatened to kill his wife during an argument, and that he was arrested for battery. Although charges were never filed, the damage to Hull’s campaign was done.

This information was put out there by Team Obama.

It’s very telling that rather than work hard and compete against the other candidates in the marketplace of ideas, Obama and his kind would rather move heaven and earth in an attempt to get rid of any competition, by using dirty tricks. Obama learned the gospel of anti-American communist Saul Alinsky very well.

By the way, to learn the entire sorry tale of Obama’s life, from his birth to his ties to radical terrorists, anti-American communists, and other misc. unsavory characters and dangerous subversives, to time in the White House, with all of the sickening details in between, go to the Obama page at Discover the Networks here.

We all know that once Obama became a United States Senator, he worked only occasionally, around 143 days total, before abandoning his job to run for President, something he promised the voters of Illinois he would not do in his first term. The first in a very long line of lies and broken promises to the American people.

We also know that once Obama was elected President, there was some sort of negotiations between Obama and now impeached Governor Rod Blagojevich that involved the Governor appointing long time Obama confidant Valerie Jarrett to Barry’s now vacant Senate seat, in exchange for some sort of payoff to Blagojevich. Read more here.

Now before becoming President, there was the campaign. During the primaries, Team Obama was too busy sliming Hillary Clinton to pay much attention to the Republican ticket, and thanks to a true fight for the Marxist-democrat party nomination, paid little attention John McCain. Instead, Team Obama counted on their media partners to do their job for them, which they did.

It wasn’t until John McCain announced that Sarah Palin would be his running mate that Obama and his stooges went into full on panic mode. Despite what the media, and the Marxist-democrat spin machine would love for you to believe, Team Obama was well aware of Sarah’s record and her solid performance as Governor of Alaska. If you remember, they immediately stopped running as much against McCain, and started treating Sarah like SHE was the presidential nominee.

One of the first Team Obama members to panic was the Mao Tse Tung loving Anita Dunn. Dunn, who was made infamous by Glenn Beck, knew all too well just how tough Sarah Palin is, and what a formidable opponent she would be.

Dunn had advised former Governor Tony Knowles as he ran against Sarah for Alaska’s top job. David L Riddick (aka The Aged P) had this to say:

Time Magazine, official mouthpiece of the Obama administration, has an excerpt from “The Audacity to Win” by David Plouffe who was a key figure in Obama’s 2008 campaign. It’s an interesting behind the scenes glimpse into what has to be acknowledged as one of the most successful sales campaigns in marketing history. But what caught my eye was a fascinating factoid buried deep in the section describing how Plouffe and Co. reacted to McCain’s selection of Governor Palin as his running mate.

Palin was a bolt of lightning, a true surprise. She was such a long shot, I didn’t even have her research file on my computer, as I did for the likely McCain picks. I started Googling her, refreshing my memory while I waited for our research to be sent.

[…]

On our 6:00 a.m. conference call, [campaign adviser] Anita Dunn, who had worked against Palin in Alaska in the 2006 governor’s race, warned us that she was a formidable political talent

[ … ]

Yes – that Anita Dunn, White House Communications Director, enemy of Fox News and admirer of Mao Tse Tung. Dunn, who started out working for President Carter’s chief of staff, Hamilton Jordan, is regarded by Democrats as one of the their most highly experienced strategists. That’s why David Axelrod brought her into the Obama campaign team. It turns out that she also advised Tony Knowles in the 2006 Alaska Gubernatorial campaign.

All of you on this call should watch video of her debates and speeches,” Dunn counseled. “The substance is thin, but she’s a very able performer. And her story is out of Hollywood. She’ll be a phenomenon for a while.

Actually she also advised Knowles in his 2004 Senate bid so she clearly has close links with Alaska.

It’s quite clear that the Obama team was thrown into disarray by the Palin pick because over the next few weeks they threw every resource into undermining her credibility. Indeed at times it was as if she was Obama’s presidential opponent, rather than McCain.

The anti-Palin campaign operated, as we know, on two levels. Publicly one theme was “inexperience” though, given Obama’s shallow CV, this held some risk. Another was questioning the governor’s reformist/ethical credentials which Dunn herself laughably attempted just a few days after the nomination.

It was laughable not just because Obama had never aligned himself with any project that attempted to clean up the seedy politics of Chicago/Cook County but, as Michelle Malkin pointed out, Dunn herself had been very close to Tom Daschle.

Of course, Mao Tse Dunn wasn’t the only Team Obama member who was concerned. Obama’s then Senate Chief of Staff, “Alaskan” Pete Rouse, who now serves as a White House adviser, was tasked to use his many contacts to see how they could slime Sarah Palin.

The notoriously left wing Anchorage Daily News ran a puff piece on Rouse, who despite living full time in the D. C. area, still votes absentee in Alaska. Here are some interesting bits:

He once helped run state government in Juneau, played shortstop in a local softball league, and he still votes as an Alaska resident.

But these days, Pete Rouse works in the White House, two doors from his close friend, President Barack Obama.

For 25 years as the consummate Democratic insider in the U.S. Senate, Rouse played a quiet role as the backdoor connection for Alaska’s all-Republican delegation to the other side of the aisle in Congress. He was the longtime chief of staff for Sen. Tom Daschle, D-S.D., the one-time Senate majority leader, and starting in 2004 Rouse took on the same job for a promising young freshman senator from Illinois.

Today, as special adviser to Obama, Rouse is in the innermost circle of the West Wing. His office sits between chief of staff Rahm Emanuel and communications director David Axelrod (for fans of “The West Wing” television series, that would be Josh Lyman’s office).

His Alaska roots run deeper than those of almost anyone reading these words. His mother, the daughter of Japanese immigrants, grew up in Anchorage starting in World War I, when it was a railroad construction town. His cousin was the longtime municipal attorney for the City of Palmer.

But Rouse himself was born on the East Coast and had never been west of Denver when he flew to Alaska in late 1978 to visit a friend, Alaska’s newly elected Republican lieutenant governor, Terry Miller.

Rouse ended up working as Miller’s chief of staff for the final four years of Gov. Jay Hammond’s administration. It was a great experience, Rouse said, a time when Juneau was filled with young idealists eager to grapple with the state’s new oil money, infrastructure need and unformed social policies.

Juneau at the time was 19,000 people, but it was really a town on the move in terms of young, well-educated people excited by these policy issues,” he recalled.

[ … ]

Rouse also brought a team of political veterans, many from the Daschle camp, into the Obama campaign.

When Pete went to work for Barack, what Barack got — and I don’t think he realized it — was the only network in Democratic circles that from both a policy and political perspective came close to the Clinton network,” political consultant Anita Dunn told the Post recently.

By last August, Rouse had shifted to working full-time for the campaign. An Obama campaign trip to Alaska was almost a certainty, he said, until Gov. Sarah Palin was tapped for the Republican vice-presidential nominee. Pre-Palin, he said, the campaign felt it had a chance to win the heavily Republican state, based on the enthusiasm shown in caucuses for Obama.

[ … ]

One of Rouse’s best friends in Alaska is state Sen. Kim Elton, D-Juneau. Rouse was the one who recruited Elton, a former journalist, into politics to work for Miller. Elton said Rouse is always eager for e-mailed photos of Romeo, the black wolf often photographed around Juneau.

Elton said he followed the presidential race through Rouse, backing Obama early on the strength of his friend’s endorsement. But he told Rouse he couldn’t talk about Palin once she was named to the Republican ticket. As chairman of the Legislative Council, Elton played a central role in the Legislature’s “Troopergate” investigation of the governor, which Republicans complained was being run by Obama supporters.

You can read more of the ADN’s love letter to Rouse here.

Please note the close ties to Kim Elton, who was point man on the bogus, and discredited Troopgate “investigation.” (Sarah calls it “Tasergate” in her book, Going Rogue, because her former brother-in-law, Trooper Mike Wooten, had tasered his stepson)

Although the witch hunt was already in motion, it’s quite obvious that once Sarah was chosen to be John McCain’s running mate, Chicago thug politics came to Alaska. Ed Morrissey wrote at the time, discussing a photo that had all of those who were ram-rodding this witch hunt, at Obama’s Alaska election headquarters:

However, it also shows that the people running the investigation are overt Obama backers, which calls into question whether they can be fair — especially with Obama’s campaign involving itself with Wooten’s union.

Team Obama certainly seems rather careless about keeping their fingerprints off of the smears, innuendo, and mudslinging. I guess they didn’t feel the media did a good enough job of it last week, and the polling numbers tend to show it.

That’s right, Obama’s crew “reached out” to the Alaska State Troopers Union, no doubt using his ties to the incredibly corrupt SEIU/ACORN cabal as his calling card. Once Obama got involved, the slime machine went into overdrive.

A lot has been written, and as we all know, the so-called Branchflower Report, which claimed Sarah had broken no laws, but “overstepped her authority” was completely and totally discredited, by independent investigator, Timothy Petumenos, who was working on behalf of the Alaska State Personnel Board.

Not only did he find that Sarah had done nothing wrong in firing Walt Monegan, an “at will” employee who served at the pleasure of the Governor, and could be fired for any reason, or none at all, he also noted that the Obama smear crew, Elton, French, and the rest, had actually cited the wrong statute in their shameless attacks.

Didn’t matter though. What Obama was looking for was an “October surprise” and he got it, as the bogus Branchflower Report was released just three days before the election. The damage was done.

For a “job well done” Barack Obama appointed Rouse’s buddy Senator Kim Elton to a make work job at the U.S. Department of the Interior. As we now know, this was the first of many such pay-play-deals the Obama regime would attempt. Think Blagojevich,  Joe Sestak and Andrew Romanoff just to name a few.

Now our buddy Pete Rouse wasn’t done though. Again, Rouse is connected in Alaska. Good old Pete was charged with creating what we call Obama’s Alaska Mafia. This is a group of hate bloggers, thugs, nerdowells, and Marxist-democrat party operatives.

These hate bloggers were given access to some of the nation’s leading news organizations and told to crank out the lies, half truths, rumors, and hate. Most notably in this bunch are Jeanne Devon and Shannyn Moore, who were given access to the smut peddling Huffington Post, which Obama’s media partners often use as a “credible source.

We’ve written extensively about the Alaska Mafia, the hatemongers, and all of the rest, so I won’t rehash, but if you’d like a good overview, and want to see the video Obama and the Mafia fought unsuccessfully to have banned, you can read a lot more here.

One other thing the team White House adviser Pete Rouse put together was tasked to do, was continually file nonsensical “ethics” charges against Governor Sarah Palin. These things were beyond insane, but then again, so are Alaska’s ethics laws. Absolutely anyone can file for just about anything. And no matter how ridiculous, the state is obligated to investigate.

Again we all know just how insane it got, as complaints were filed because Sarah was photographed holding a fish, wearing a jacket in sub-zero weather, and for receiving cookies from a group. (considered a “bribe“) There were a couple of dozens of these damned things.

Even worse, unlike almost every other state in the union, Alaska offers no protection for it’s Chief Executive Officer. In other states, the Attorney General, or someone designated, would serves as the Governor’s attorney and handle things. In Alaska, you are on your own.

As you can imagine, defending herself against this constant bombardment from Team Obama was taking a toll on the Palin Administration, Sarah and her family, and Alaska government as a whole. The goal was to bankrupt Sarah personally, completely tie up her administration, thus thwarting her aggressive agenda, and create the narrative that she was somehow “corrupt.

Sarah is a fighter, we all know this after watching her, as a private citizen, just destroy Obama on an almost daily basis with little more that Facebook and Twitter (or “the twitters” as Obama calls it) But she is also a brilliant tactician. Sarah learned a lot as team captain on her championship winning basketball team, one of those lessons was that sometimes a player needs to pass the ball off to someone else to score. This is what Sarah would do on July 3, 2009, giving what we call her Declaration of Independence speech at her Lake Lucille home.

Some on the left love to call Sarah a “quitter” (some on the right too) but it shows their incredibly childish mentality. This was one of the most brilliant tactical moves in political history. Here are the facts:

Sarah was personally looking at a legal bill just north of a half million dollars. Her salary as Governor was $125, 000 a year. She had just turned down a big $25, 000 raise that was offered up by the Alaska legislature. (Lt Governor, now Governor Sean Parnell also rejected a raise)

Sarah’s administration was totally paralyzed, spending much of their time doing research for never ending Freedom of Information Act requests, answering bogus “ethics” charges and so on.

Most importantly, at least to Sarah, was the fact Obama’s thugs, with their jihad against her, had cost the state of Alaska (the taxpayers) over 2 million of their very hard earned dollars. As she put it at the time, this was money that couldn’t be used to build roads, schools, pay teachers, cops, firemen, whatever. Obama was stealing, through his hand picked thugs, from the Alaskan people.

For those who still don’t get it, this is why Sarah Palin “quit” being Governor Palin. Many to this day think she should have stayed and fought. To this I have to say that is some seriously flawed thinking.

One, the “ethics” complaints were never, ever gonna stop. If you remember, right after announcing her resignation, Sarah and her family, as they have done forever, went fishing. Todd and Sarah have operated a commercial fishing business for as long as they have been together. Todd grew up doing this. Anyhow, the media was going insane, and sent a bunch of folks, who would end up interviewing Sarah as she worked the nets.

After the fact, here came another “ethics” complaint, because she did the interview. There were several “ethics” complaints filed because she was simply interviewed during her time as Governor.

This is how idiotic Alaska’s ethics laws are. In my opinion, only a fool would have stayed in this situation. Better to step back a few paces, and hand the ball off to someone else, then regroup, reload, and come back twice as strong, which is exactly what she did.

As you know, Sean Parnell has been following much of Sarah’s agenda, and continuing to advance her aggressive, forward looking ideas . As we reported on Thursday, Governor Parnell just signed into law legislation that would make Sarah Palin’s goal of having Alaska get 50 percent of it’s energy from renewables, move closer to reality.

Oddly enough, even though Parnell is following the Palin Doctrine pretty well, no ethics complaints are coming his way. Could that be because Parnell isn’t a direct threat to the Obama regime, and not the odds on favorite to be the next President of the United States, as is that certain Mama Grizzly he replaced?

We think of all of the bloviating (including ours) about the brilliance of Sarah’s move, and how she absolutely blind sided the Obama regime and it’s minions, stopping them dead in their tracks, Claude Sandroff, writing for the American Thinker, may have said it best:

Virtue and Sarah Palin

No republic, not even our exceptional one, can survive without virtuous citizens.

On July 3 when Sarah Palin announced from her Wasilla home that she would step down as Governor, we got a glimpse of a person none of us had seen before: this remarkable woman, nothing less than a phenomenon, always unflappable now seemed wounded and shaken. Five simple words were particularly haunting: “…and it’s not so comfortable.”

One of the most famous women in the world, Sarah Palin relinquished state power in the simplest of settings. It was obviously not comfortable, nor easy. However we define Palin, as frontier feminist, movement conservative or middle class populist this will always stand as her finest hour.

It might not have been her finest performance, but it crystallized in a moment the very essence of virtue. It was Sir Thomas More resigning as Lord Chancellor and George Washington returning to Mount Vernon. It showed how rare virtue has become in our politics. It shows why we adore Sarah Palin and why we need her. And it explains why, even without office, she has become the most important political figure in America.

There is much more which you simply must read, here.

While still serving as Governor, many people offered to come to Sarah Palin’s aid, financial, and several unauthorized legal defense funds were started. Seeing this, an “official” fund, one that people would know was legitimate, was put together. Now this wasn’t a slapdash deal. The best legal minds were put to work creating this fund, which mirrored those used by the likes of Bill Clinton, and other noteworthy political figures.

As expected, in record time, another bogus “ethics” complaint was filed. It seems the Chicago thugs not only wanted to bankrupt the Palins, but make damned sure no one could help them out!

This of course made big news. You see, this is something else the Mafia was good at, and why the Obama regime uses them to this day. In Alaska it’s illegal to discuss or publish details of ethics complaints against public officials until after they are settled. That’s a good thing, as it negates efforts by thugs like Obama’s Mafia, and doesn’t allow them to benefit from their actions. The bad thing is, the law has absolutely no teeth. No tangible punishment for breaking this law.

With nothing to stop them, the Mafia’s network of hate bloggers already had their stories written, and within minutes of a complaint being filed, the internet was filled with many accounts of Sarah’s latest “crime against humanity.” Of course, since much of the media is little more than a stenography pool for the Obama regime, and it’s agenda, within hours, all of these reports were being broadcast worldwide as absolute fact.

Getting back to the complaint against Sarah’s legal defense fund: Pretty much everyone smelled a rat when they started looking into the so-called “independent investigator” that was chosen to look into the fund.

This so-called “independent investigator” would himself break the confidentiality laws, and announce to the world that Sarah was guilty (even though the investigation was barely started) and CNN stringer Dennis Zaki, and a couple other members of the Alaska Mafia, did him one better, telling the world a huge FBI indictment was coming. This prompted the FBI to do something it rarely does, and publicly announce that, not only was Sarah NOT about to be indicted, the FBI didn’t even have her on their radar. This was simply another lie by the hate bloggers. To this day people still think the FBI was investigating Sarah.

This “independent investigator” Thomas Daniels, has a day job. He is employed by the law firm, Perkins Coie. It just so happens that Perkins Coie is Barack Obama’s attorney as well. He’s spent millions with them. They are the ones representing him in many of the dozens of cases challenging his eligibility and legitimacy as President.

Perkins Coie is also a favorite of the DNC, and their go to guys if they absolutely, positively want to steal a close election, after the fact. They were neck deep in the Florida 2000 recount, and Al Gore’s unsuccessful bid to steal the presidency. They worked extra hard to try and have military absentee ballots disallowed on technicalities.

In 2006, Perkins Coie made headlines when it represented Salim Ahmed Hamdan, the alleged driver and bodyguard of Osama Bin Laden.

But wait, there’s more! (with this bunch there is always more) You remember Anita Dunn, our fun loving Mao worshiper and Obama’s former Communication’s Director? Well, she’s got a husband. Her husband Robert Bauer, is the Chief Counsel for the White House. Guess who Bob was working for before being picked for this post. If you said Perkins Coie, congratulations, you are beginning to understand how all of this ties together.

Michele Malkin calls Bauer Obama’s “political fixer” she has written:

Bauer is intimately familiar with electoral law, Barack Obama, ethics violations and government job-trading allegations. And he’s an old hand at keeping critics and inquisitors at bay. A partner at the prestigious law firm Perkins Coie, Bauer served as counsel to the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and Obama for America. He also served as legal counsel to the George Soros-funded 527 organization

Ian Lazaran, writing for Conservatives 4 Palin, has a whole lot more on all of this here.

At this point, it’s well established that Obama has an entire network set up as a dirty tricks squad to go after any political opponent.

It’s also well established that members of Obama’s closest inner circle of advisers, Pete Rouse, Anita Dunn, and Bob Bauer are directly involved in the day to day smear campaign against Sarah Palin, and have been since the day she was first introduced to the American people.

Barack Obama makes Richard Nixon, and his famed “enemies list” look quite mild by comparison. The amount of effort expended by the Obama regime trying to stop Sarah Palin is not only unprecedented in American politics, but also speaks to the incredible power Sarah Palin wields.

Others may talk a good game, but Sarah Palin has been actively and effectively challenging Obama pretty much since the day after the 2008 election. As it has become more apparent what a mistake the American voters made, and the type of corrupt Chicago thug Obama is, Sarah has been relentlessly calling him out. She is really the only one with the guts to it with such gusto.

One more thing, by the virtue of her own highly successful record as Mayor, energy and environmental regulator, and Governor, as well as her strong ethics, Sarah Palin is one of the very few that have the moral authority to call Obama out.

The greatest thing about the Marxist-democrats, and their media partners, is the fact they will always tell you who they fear the most. If you notice, there is no “we must stop Mitt Romney before we all DIE” movement going on, but the Obama regime has put out an effort, the likes of which this nation has never experienced, in order to stop little old Sarah Palin from Wasilla, Alaska!

All of my bloviating brings us to this:

By now, you are hearing that Sarah has settled this complaint against her legal defense fund. We knew something was about to happen when her attorney, Thomas Van Flein, published this note on her Facebook page:

As most people know, Sarah Palin is relentlessly attacked by those who elevate the state over the individual and by those who lack faith in any higher power except the regulatory power of Washington, D.C. Many of these people use – and abuse – the law, and in the case of Sarah Palin, they have abused our state ethics laws by repeatedly, remorselessly, and routinely filing false and malicious claims against her. So too, they have resorted to our courts, where several civil suits were filed against Sarah Palin. To date, these civil suits have been rejected by the courts as baseless. But we know the toll this caused the Palins. Almost a year ago, Governor Palin pointed out the many groundless complaints, records requests and suits filed against her, and explained that:

…it hasn’t been cheap – the State has wasted thousands of hours of your time and shelled out some two million of your dollars to respond to ‘opposition research’ – that’s money not going to fund teachers or troopers – or safer roads. And this political absurdity, the ‘politics of personal destruction’… Todd and I are looking at more than half a million dollars in legal bills in order to set the record straight. And what about the people who offer up these silly accusations? It doesn’t cost them a dime so they’re not going to stop draining public resources – spending other peoples’ money in their game…. Some Alaskans don’t mind wasting public dollars and state time. I do. I cannot stand here as your Governor and allow millions upon millions of our dollars go to waste just so I can hold the title of Governor.

The past year has confirmed that Governor Palin was right. The number of false claims, records requests, mendacious accusations and ridiculous posturing by the left and street corner ethicists dropped dramatically – at least as applied to the mechanics of state government.

But it did not all go away when she stepped aside – some claims and suits are pending and are getting resolved in time. A judge in Anchorage recently issued a ruling throwing out a baseless claim against Governor Palin – and indirectly involving Todd Palin. In this civil claim, Todd Palin was being attacked because he was a close and trusted advisor to his wife, the Governor. That he was should surprise no one. The claimant asserted that because Todd Palin was not being paid by the State of Alaska, any emails copied to him could not be protected by the standard law of deliberative process privilege – a privilege that essentially protects the decision making process in government in order to allow the decision makers the freedom to honestly discuss policy and process and promote the open exchange of ideas. The claimant demanded the right to see emails that were sent to Todd Palin.

In a well reasoned opinion, the judge explored state law, federal law (including an historical discussion on First Lady Sarah Polk, wife of President James K. Polk), and invoked a too rarely used legal principle – common sense – to throw out this lawsuit. In so doing, the court concluded that Todd Palin, as the First Gentleman, though unpaid, was in essence a privileged consultant to the Office of the Governor, and the court compared Todd Palin’s privileged consultations to First Lady Hillary Clinton, in which a federal court determined that the chief executive’s spouse “acts as the functional equivalent of an assistant to the President.” And, with state government employees assisting the first spouse, Todd Palin had a clear and obvious privileged consultative function and is analogous to a de facto state officer.

The court ultimately concluded that “common sense and Federal law” compel the conclusion that “Todd Palin could properly… act as an advisor to the Governor” and therefore he was appropriately involved in policy discussions, emails, and deliberative discussions, all of which are protected from disclosure.

It is refreshing to see a court resort to common sense and historical precedent. Further, as more and more women get elected to high office (What are they called now? – “Mama Grizzlies“?), it is notable that challenges such as this, which were based on sexist notions and demeaning attitudes towards women, are being rejected. This suit challenged Todd Palin’s role as a first spouse and was implicitly premised on the idea that a male spouse must somehow exert too much influence over a female chief executive. Hence the demand to “see those emails” from Todd Palin; but contrast this with decades of silence relative to communications to prior executive spouses – female spouses. That dismissive and contemptuous posture towards the new brand of feminist leaders was appropriately condemned by the court as lacking a basis in reality.

This was followed by a statement from Meg Stapleton:

First off, let’s keep in mind that this is about a legal defense fund. According to the Summary of Findings in the decision released today by the Alaska Personnel Board, nothing illegal and nothing unethical occurred because not a penny has been distributed. Governor Palin did nothing wrong. And in fact, everyone is in agreement that Governor Palin acted in good faith. Now, let me explain how we got here.

It is no secret that Governor Palin has been subject to political and legal attacks on an unprecedented scale. Since these attacks originate from her opposition, sometimes it can be a badge of honor to be the focus of such irrational hatred. But there is a cost to all of this.

Last year, those who willfully and excitedly violated or abused Alaska law showed they would do it again and again to either bankrupt Governor Palin or paralyze her success for Alaska. Governor Palin had a choice: plead guilty to things she didn’t do so that she could focus on the state and save money for the family – or defend her good name and reputation. She chose to fight back. In the end, Governor Palin and her attorney, Thomas Van Flein, successfully defended against well over two dozen complaints, lawsuits, and allegations. Time and time again during and after the 2008 Presidential election cycle, independent investigators proved that Governor Palin’s actions were sound, her judgment was proper, and her intentions were honest. In fact, the Personnel Board, the ethics board for the Governor of the state, never even had to take up a case as each was dismissed before making it to the next level.

But it did cost the Palins financially.

Seeing this nonsense, it was suggested to me from both sides of the aisle that one way to deal with the substantial financial cost these tactics were inflicting, was to create a trust fund for legal fees – just like all the other legal defense funds for prominent politicians who are targets.

As reported in the Wall Street Journal, “Such funds have become increasingly common as scrutiny of politicians has intensified.” (“Palin Backers Set Up Legal-Defense Fund“, Wall Street Journal, p. A-3, April 24, 2009)

When I approached Governor Palin with the idea, she had one primary directive – if it can be done lawfully, then I will support it. She also asked that, if possible, we keep it Alaskan.

One might think that creating a trust fund to collect money to pay legal fees should not be that complicated, but it turns out, it is exceptionally complicated. You should know that as many as seven lawyers were involved in the process; some of whom were and are nationally prominent experts in creating legal defense funds, in evaluating federal and state election laws, state trust law, federal and state tax laws, state reporting requirements and state ethics requirements. It is a sad commentary on public life today when the legal system can be used as a political weapon against an elected official, and it takes a battalion of lawyers to figure out how to fund a defense and counter-attack.

In any event, the legal team concluded that the fund they had created was lawful in all respects. I relied in good faith on that advice and advised Governor Palin of that advice.

Ultimately, the Alaska Fund Trust was borne, and within a day or two, a complaint was filed against it challenging its legality. (And like everything else, the public knew because someone – likely the complainant – violated the law and publicly released the accusation.) And so started another prolonged legal battle – this time to determine if the legal fund created to defend Governor Palin against frivolous ethics complaints was itself ethical. Quite a circle really. We made it clear that no money would be paid out on until the matter had been resolved.

Thus, to this very moment, the money received was frozen and no one, not the Palins, not the Palins’ attorney, no one ever received a penny from the Trust on the Palins’ behalf.

The Personnel Board initially appointed an “independent” investigator. That investigator, we later learned, had connections with, and was associated with President Obama. The Personnel Board had hired President Obama’s personal law firm as an “independent” investigator to review whether a fund created to raise money to eliminate a debt incurred as a result of Governor Palin’s opposition to President Obama was appropriate. We objected to both the illegal leak and the blatant political influence, and a new investigator was appointed.

The new investigator spent considerable time reviewing the old information and collecting new, but I think it proved to be too difficult to reverse an already-public decision. He concluded that the Trust fund violated Alaska law in two respects. His biggest heartburn was that we used the word “official” on the website. And he was distressed that we turned down an offer from a former White House Special Counsel to serve as trustee and instead chose an Alaskan whom Alaskans would recognize – Kristan Cole.

Kristan sat on several state boards as a volunteer public servant. The investigator concluded that because she sat on such boards, Governor Palin as governor was technically her boss, and therefore she should not be the trustee of the fund. That is his conclusion and we respect that. The law is not clear on this aspect, and not one member of the legal team saw this as an issue, but again, we respect the conclusion here and it is not worth the time or money to dispute that. But we do want to thank Kristan for taking on that otherwise thankless task. What is it they say about no good deed?

The other conclusion needs context. There was a point where it appeared that people around the country wanted to start legal defense funds for Governor Palin. The support and good will the people of this country have shown to the Palins is inspiring. But a concern was raised whether all these other potential funds would comply with various laws, including donation limits, limits against contributions from lobbyists or contributions from foreign nationals. So we used the word “official” in the website to distinguish the Alaska Fund Trust from ones we were not sure would be compliant. In our view, that was a solid and common sense reason to use the word “official,” but the investigator believes that it made it appear that the website was sponsored by the State of Alaska, and thus would be a use of Governor Palin’s “official” office to raise money. We are not terribly persuaded that really would be the case or that any member of the public could be confused, but we respect the investigator’s evaluation of this point and it is not worth fighting about. Again, Governor Palin’s prime directive was simple – if this fund could be set up lawfully, she would support it. If not, it would not have her support.

So Governor Palin has reached a point where she decided to agree to resolve this matter with the investigator rather than spend time and money fighting an ethics complaint about a fund that was created to reimburse her for the money she has spent fighting bogus ethics complaints drawn up by insiders and outsiders violating and abusing Alaska law. Really, this is simple pragmatism and common sense.

As you know, we love a good fight, but we must pick our battles carefully. As a chief executive, Governor Palin makes the calls, and she knows that this battle, though important to her personally, does nothing for the country. She has bigger battles to fight, battles to restore our strength internationally and stand by our allies, battles to stop the downward slide of our economy, and battles to take back control of Congress.

However, I know and you know that no public official should ever have to bear the financial brunt of these attacks. And Governor Palin can lawfully raise money now through a brand new – not official but let’s call it “real” – legal defense fund without any risk of offending an investigator or state law. And such a fund now exists at http://www.sarahpalinlegaldefensefund.org/donate.php.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to the Alaska Fund Trust. Your heart was in the right place. And Governor Palin and her family have been overwhelmed by your generosity. If you want to, you can contribute to the new fund. In the meantime, we will try to contact you to get your donation returned from the old trust.

Now – back to motherhood for me! And common sense.

P.S. One last thought as we approach the anniversary of Governor Palin’s “reloading,” thank God she had the fortitude and wisdom to look down the road and see what she did – the state’s bills would have amounted to millions upon millions more and her personal legal bills would be personally insurmountable. I don’t know who would want to hold office under these circumstances and with loopholes our Alaska legislators refuse to close.

- Meghan Stapleton, Mom, Wife, and Now More Knowledgeable Than Ever About Legal Defense Funds

Now the left is already crowing about the “great victory” over their bête noire. But after all of their efforts, an entire year’s worth of lying, scheming, and plotting, what the hell have they won?

The new independent investigator had to really dig into the minutia of the law to come up with something to say that the legal defense fund violated the law.

When you are down to the fact the word “official” was used in the description as a basis to call something illegal, you are truly grasping at straws!

The investigator admits that Sarah Palin acted in good faith, and had no intention of violating the law. In other words, she did nothing wrong. End of story right there.

Of course, that’s not the end of the story. What the left doesn’t seem to get, is every time they attack Sarah Palin, it backfires on them, big time! You just KNOW that if the Obama regime could put the genie back in the bottle, and travel back in time, they would have left Governor Sarah Palin alone to do her job.

In all of their unprecedented efforts to destroy Sarah Palin’s political career, and Sarah personally, they have actually enhanced it all. She is more powerful and more consequential as a private citizen, than she would have ever been as Governor of Alaska. She’s also free to go after Obama and other enemies of Liberty and Freedom, with full force.

By stealing millions of Alaskan taxpayer dollars through their thuggery, and forcing Sarah to make the incredibly tough decision to hand the ball off to Sean Parnell in July of last year, they unleashed a wildcat, or should I say a Mama Grizzly.

Maybe we should say the left unleashed Sarahcuda.

Back when Sarah Palin was the captain of her championship basketball team, she was given the nickname “Sarah Barracuda” I did a little looking into the characteristics of the barracuda, especially their feeding habits, this is what I found:

To become a successful feeder, the barracuda developed a technique of racing through a school of fish with its blade like teeth attacking the helpless fish. After it injures and immobilizes some of the fish, the barracuda returns to snatch them up. It’s clear that barracuda have truly honed their predatory skills. Often, in fact, barracudas use their highly evolved instincts to take advantage of the disorder that occurs around dusk, when the nighttime fish switch places with the daytime fish. It is at this time, when their prey least expects it, that barracuda make their attack.

Of course, in this little metaphor, the “helpless fish” is Barack Obama and the rest of the Marxist-democrat party. For almost two years now Sarah Palin has been taking Obama on and inflicting many injuries to his agenda, and those of his boss, George Soros. Little by little, taking him down.

Many people keep counting her out, but when they least expect it, her she comes, and when she shows up, she plays hard.

When the original defense fund was set up, Sarah and her people were well aware they would be attacked almost immediately, so they put in all kinds of restrictions on who could donate, and how much. In fact, the maximum amount anyone was allowed to donate was equal to what one would spend on dinner for two at an upscale eatery, with possibly a movie afterward.

Now one can donate any amount they desire, up to a $13,500 maximum.

Sarah’s original fund raised close to a half million dollars in incredibly small amounts. As Meg Stapleton noted all of those donations will be returned under the settlement, however, a totally unscientific observation, made by reading hundreds of comments from supporters on Conservative blogs, reveals that most can’t wait to receive their refund, so they can turn around and send it to the new fund, along with a healthy addition.

In other words, a years worth of Chicago style thuggery has been an Epic Fail!

Take time to visit Sarah’s new fund’s website www.sarahpalinlegaldefensefund.org and help Sarah cover the costs of Obama’s attacks against her.

Much like Lincoln said of Ulysses S. Grant, we can’t afford to lose this woman, she fights!

No, Sarah Palin Did Not Compare Obama to Hitler

By Stacy Drake

What is it with the left and their friends in the media? Why is it that they cannot apply reason when processing information in regards to Sarah Palin? I’m just going to presume that it’s a political tactic designed to confuse possible future voters. Otherwise, I’d be left to believe that we have an unhealthy number of ignorant people in our society.

Last night, Governor Palin posted a link to a Thomas Sowell article called, “Is U.S. Now On Slippery Slope To Tyranny?” In which Mr. Sowell said the following:

When Adolf Hitler was building up the Nazi movement in the 1920s, leading up to his taking power in the 1930s, he deliberately sought to activate people who did not normally pay much attention to politics.

Such people were a valuable addition to his political base, since they were particularly susceptible to Hitler’s rhetoric and had far less basis for questioning his assumptions or his conclusions.

“Useful idiots” was the term supposedly coined by V.I. Lenin to describe similarly unthinking supporters of his dictatorship in the Soviet Union.

Put differently, a democracy needs informed citizens if it is to thrive, or ultimately even survive.

In our times, American democracy is being dismantled, piece by piece, before our very eyes by the current administration in Washington, and few people seem to be concerned about it.

I think the point Mr. Sowell was trying to make is clear. Throughout history, despots have used “useful idiots” to grow their regime’s power and influence. He provided TWO examples of historical reference to back up his claim, by listing both Adolf Hitler and V.I. Lenin in the beginning of his post.

Yet somehow, the media missed this obvious point as the following article written by Andy Barr in Politico today proves, called “Sarah Palin praises column linking Obama, Hitler” (please note that the original title of this article was “Sarah Palin praises Hitler column” but I guess that meme wasn’t working for them) It says:

Former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin on Friday encouraged her supporters to read an article comparing the BP escrow fund to Nazism.

[…]

The article Palin points to was published on Monday and was widely criticized for writing that, like Adolph Hitler, President Barack Obama is stripping away the freedom of his citizens without mass protest.

Wait a second… Where did Lenin go? Why didn’t I see 1,000 tweets directed at Governor Palin from left-wing drones on Twitter (known as #p2) saying she compared Obama to Lenin? Where is the article form Politico or any other media outlet with the reference to Lenin? Perhaps it’s because they have a little soft spot for the former Communist dictator, and although Lenin is responsible for millions of deaths, it just doesn’t have the same punch as a reference to Hitler in their minds. I don’t know…

If the mental midgets on the left and in the media (sorry for the repetition) weren’t playing politics here and bothered to read the rest of Mr. Sowell’s piece, they would be able to see what his point was. Such as this:

With vastly expanded powers of government available at the discretion of politicians and bureaucrats, private individuals and organizations can be forced into accepting the imposition of powers that were never granted to the government by the Constitution.

If you believe that the end justifies the means, then you don’t believe in constitutional government.

And, without constitutional government, freedom cannot endure. There will always be a “crisis” — which, as the president’s chief of staff has said, cannot be allowed to “go to waste” as an opportunity to expand the government’s power.

That power will of course not be confined to BP or to the particular period of crisis that gave rise to the use of that power, much less to the particular issues.

When Franklin D. Roosevelt arbitrarily took the United States off the gold standard, he cited a law passed during the First World War to prevent trading with the country’s wartime enemies. But there was no war when FDR ended the gold standard’s restrictions on the printing of money.

Franklin D. Roosevelt! Now that’s THREE historical references that Mr. Sowell makes in his article talking about governmental power grabs. Yet, there where no “lamestream” articles with headlines that read “Sarah Palin praises column linking Obama, FDR.”

Well, we know that would never happen because FDR is a hero to the American left. Time magazine even mocked up a cover superimposing Barack Obama’s face on an old FDR photo, back in November of 2008.

Mr. Sowell’s piece ends this way:

At about the same time, during the worldwide Great Depression, the German Reichstag passed a law “for the relief of the German people.”

That law gave Hitler dictatorial powers that were used for things going far beyond the relief of the German people — indeed, powers that ultimately brought a rain of destruction down on the German people and on others.

If the agreement with BP was an isolated event, perhaps we might hope that it would not be a precedent. But there is nothing isolated about it.

The man appointed by President Obama to dispense BP’s money as the administration sees fit, to whomever it sees fit, is only the latest in a long line of presidentially appointed “czars” controlling different parts of the economy, without even having to be confirmed by the Senate, as Cabinet members are.

Those who cannot see beyond the immediate events to the issues of arbitrary power — vs. the rule of law and the preservation of freedom — are the “useful idiots” of our time. But useful to whom?

Useful idiots, indeed… They give away their identity by calling out Governor Palin for merely linking to this well written, well thought out article by my own favorite intellectual, Thomas Sowell. To try and pass a perceived notion of what she was linking to, rather than actually discussing the points made in the piece, the left proves themselves incapable on any honest debate.

For the record, Governor Palin replied tonight to all of this on her Twitter page. She said:

Lamestream media: I never compared Obama to Hitler. Quit making things up

Sarah Palin’s Goal Of 50% Renewable Energy Use In Alaska Signed Into Law

By Gary P Jackson

One of the first things Barack Obama did, once he took office, was to announce a pretty ambitious goal of having the United States get 25 percent of it’s energy from renewable sources by the year 2025. To date, little if anything, has been done by the Obama regime to reach this goal.

On January 21, 2009 (Obama’s first full day at work) Sarah Palin, writing in the Wall Street Journal, praised this initiative strongly, while reminding Obama that conventional sources of energy will always be needed. She also announced that she was working on the goal of having Alaska get a full 50 percent of it’s energy from renewables in that same 2025 time frame.

From the Wall Street Journal:

Tax Cuts and Fiscal Discipline

By Sarah Palin

Especially evident in these trying economic times is America’s need for affordable, abundant and secure energy. This means American energy resources developed through American ingenuity and produced by American workers. I applaud President Obama’s focus on alternative and renewable energy, and here in Alaska we’ve joined the effort: I have asked Alaskans to focus on obtaining 50% of our electric generation from renewables by 2025. In the meantime, we must not abandon oil and gas exploration and development. In fact, Americans should demand the cooperation of the major oil producers so that Alaska’s vast supply of clean natural gas can be brought to market. Alaska stands ready to positively contribute to the nation’s markets and energy needs.

Another step on the path to economic recovery is to let Americans keep more of their income. Mr. Obama and Congress could make this happen with permanent tax cuts and by adhering to a path of fiscal discipline. When congressional appropriation trains run too hastily, they accumulate excess baggage, spending more taxpayer money. Leaving more money in American pockets through tax cuts and fiscal discipline stimulates the business-investment and job-creation climate — the climate for economic recovery.

Finally, we are extremely proud of our men and women in uniform. Mr. Obama and Congress must continue to guarantee a strong national defense by modernizing and equipping our armed forces; by treating active-duty military and veterans fairly; and by supporting the families of our service members. America will face difficult challenges in the years ahead. As Mr. Obama takes the helm, our prayers are with him as he seeks direction for our great nation.

Now one must understand the rest of the story here. While Obama wanted to have the entire nation at 25 percent on renewables, Alaska was already there, and had been for some time. Many people don’t understand that while Sarah Palin’s Alaska was a leader in conventional energy production, environmentally responsible energy production, and the leader in weeding out corruption in the business and in the governmental agencies that regulate it, the state is also a leader in renewables. In other words, Alaska already gets 25 percent of it’s energy from renewable sources. With that said, shooting for the next 25 percent is big, bold, and ambitious.

Sarah understood this was a long term goal, just like AGIA, her natural gasline project, and something that would be ongoing well after she left office. Sarah left Alaska in the very capable hands of Sean Parnell, who has performed admirably as Governor, and continued on with Sarah’s policies. He has especially worked hard on energy related issues.

That brings us to this announcement, as reported by Wind Power Monthly:

US: Alaska has passed legislation calling for the state to derive 50% its electricity from renewable and alternative energy sources by 2025.

House Bill 306 reinforces a 50% renewables goal announced by former governor Sarah Palin. Notably however, the goal is not binding on utilities.

The bill calls for Alaska to encourage economic development by promoting the development of alternative energy sources, including geothermal, wind, solar, hydroelectric, hydrokinetic, tidal and biomass.

Paradoxically, the bill also calls for the development of non-renewable resources including coal, oil and natural gas. It says the state should “remain a leader in petroleum and natural gas production“.

The bill says the state should review and streamline energy regulation, but does not offer details on how this would be accomplished.

Governor Sean Parnell said: “The policy encourages coordination of government functions and streamlines regulatory processes across all levels of government.

Parnell has also signed into law SB 220, which calls on the governor to submit a report to legislature recommending how best to increase coordination and efficiency between energy-related agencies.

The report is due by January 31, 2011. Alaska has 7.8MW of wind installed, placing it 32nd among the 37 US states with wind capacity.

Its largest and most recent wind farm is the 4.5 MW Kodiak Island wind project, which came online last year.

I love how this report says “ paradoxically” talking about conventional energy sources. This reporter doesn’t realize that while Sarah Palin may have set this incredibly ambitious goal, and Governor Parnell and the Alaska legislature is doing it’s absolute best to achieve this for her, and the state, the rest of the country, sorely lacking leadership, is nowhere near meeting a far less ambitious plan.

We aren’t going to be getting away from a petroleum based economy anytime soon. As we reported here, quoting a study from 2008:

…… untapped reserves are estimated at about 2.3 trillion barrels, nearly three times more than the reserves held by Organization of Petroleum Exporting Counties (OPEC) and sufficient to meet 300 years of demand-at today’s levels-for auto, aircraft, heating and industrial fuel, without importing a single barrel of oil.

That’s three centuries worth of oil. Longer than The United States has been a nation!

This also doesn’t take into account the estimated billions of trillions of cubic feet of clean burning natural gas that also sits in the ground waiting to be used. We’ve long said if the environmentalists were serious, instead of chasing electric cars, hydrogen, or other money pits, they’d be working on converting the fleet to clean burning compressed natural gas for fuel. With the technology that currently exists, it’s a no brainer.

The Big Three automakers: Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors already offer CNG powered vehicles. Better yet, they offer dual fuel vehicles that can run on either gasoline, or CNG, so availability of either fuel is never an issue.

So, as shocked as the above reporter may be, tapping these incredibly abundant resources is not only smart, but essential. Can you imagine how the world, and America, would look if we weren’t sending somewhere between $700 billion and $1 trillion a year out of the country to buy crude oil?

Job creation alone would be staggering. The national security implications incredible. Much of those nearly $1 trillion spent annually go to nations that actively work against our interests. Many openly hate the United States, but take our money, and then use it to fight against us.

With that said, Sarah Palin’s goal of making Alaska energy independent just moved forward in a big way. If she can do this in Alaska, just think what her leadership, and inspiration, from the Oval Office could produce.

Landslide! Nikki Haley and Tim Scott Win Big In South Carolina GOP Runoff!

What a great night for common sense conservatism. Two really strong candidates, Nikki Haley and Tim Scott won their runoff contests by huge margins, as expected. Both candidates are solid reformers, and both candidates are endorsed by Sarah Palin.

The latest results have Haley with a 26 point victory, and Scott winning an absolute blowout with a 38 point margin over his rival.

From Fox News.com:

State Rep. Nikki Haley, an Indian American woman, smashed a glass ceiling in South Carolina politics Tuesday by winning her bid to represent the Republican Party in November’s gubernatorial race.

Haley is the first South Carolina woman to lead a major party ticket and will face Democratic state Sen. Vincent Sheheen to succeed term-limited Gov. Mark Sanford.

Haley was little known just months ago, but got a crucial boost with early support from former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and the Tea Party movement.

Haley beat U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett in Tuesday’s runoff, riding the backlash against the state’s notoriously rough-and-tumble politics.

She picked up the support of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and popular former South Carolina first lady Jenny Sanford.

With her victory, state Rep. Haley moved one step closer to becoming the first female governor in the conservative-leaning state. She brushed aside allegations of marital infidelity and an ethnic slur to come within a percentage point of winning the gubernatorial nod outright on June 8. And with 40 percent of the precincts reporting in the runoff, she led with 63 percent of the vote to Rep. Gresham Barrett’s 37 percent.

[Tim] Scott, also a state lawmaker, hoped to become South Carolina’s first black GOP congressman in more than a century. Scott, who has the backing of several Republican leaders in Washington, led Paul Thurmond, the son of the late U.S. Sen. and former segregationist Strom Thurmond in the runoff. The GOP-leaning district stretches down the Carolina coast and includes Fort Sumter where the first shots of the Civil War were fired.

If elected to the House, Scott would be the GOP’s first black lawmaker since Oklahoma’s J.C. Watts retired in 2003.

You can read more here.

This is outstanding news for America, and yet another step towards taking our country back, but as we all know, we still have a battle ahead. We now have to turn these landslide primary victories to huge wins come November.

If you haven’t already, check out Nikki’s website www.nikkihaley.com From there you can follower her on Facebook and Twitter.

For those not familiar with Tim Scott, here’s a short video that sums up his philosophy nicely:

This is the kind of man we need in Congress. You can make that happen. Go to www.votetimscott.com and get involved.

Barack Obama, George Soros, Petrobas, And The Real Reason Why Obama Is Trying To Halt American Oil Production: A Crime Inc. Update

By Gary P Jackson

We first reported on the fact that Barack Obama and his boss George Soros teamed up to make billions of dollars in the oil business, the day the $10 billion dollar gift to Brazil was announced almost a year ago. Sadly, outside of the blogs, no one has reported on this major scandal at all, except Glenn Beck, who has recently taken notice.

I mean how hard is this one to put together? You’ve got Nazi sympathizer George Soros, the self proclaimed “owner of the democrat party” purchasing controlling interest in Brazilian oil giant Petrobas, then just a couple of days later, Barack Obama “loans” the country of Brazil $10 billion, which is then given to …. wait for it …. Petrobas. Glenn keeps saying it’s $2 billion, but the commitment is for $10 billion.

You can read our most previous offerings on this incredible corruption here and here.

It’s simply incredible that no one is screaming for Obama and Soros’ arrest here. This is obvious corruption on an industrial scale. This is Obama “never letting a crisis go to waste.”

Now I’m not going to suggest that Obama or Soros, or anyone else had anything to do with the BP oil spill in the Gulf. It was a tragic accident, brought on by massive incompetence from all involved, including the government inspectors. With that said, this plays right into the Obama regime’s hands.

Obama, in an effort to help his boss Soros make billions, was already looking at ways to shut down oil production nationwide. This oil spill just made it easy as pie.

Glenn Beck has done a great job of exposing all of the criminals, radicals, and nerdowells, that make up the Obama regime, and the hangers on who look to make huge profits with Obama’s Crime Inc. On Monday, Glenn did a magnificent job of laying out the case against Obama and Soros:

Again, one must ask, why isn’t someone looking to perp walk Obama across the White House lawn on this deal? It’s incredibly obvious what this set up is. Soros is incredibly powerful, and funds hundreds of groups that spend their days trying to undermine the American way, but even so, this is pretty simple to figure out, and you’d think someone would have the guts to go after this bunch, and seek criminal indictments.

Of course, Obama is a multi-tasker, so not only is he using the BP oil spill to help Soros make billions, he’s also using it to try and pass massive “climate change” legislation, that will include a draconian cap and tax scheme, which will, as Obama has often said, make our energy prices “necessarily skyrocket.

Part of the cap and tax scenario includes a “carbon credit” trading scheme. In essence, folks will be arbitrarily given so many “carbon credits” but if they exceed the imaginary (and arbitrary) limits of allowed “pollution” they will have to either shut their activities down, or purchase “carbon credits” from those who haven’t reached their limits.

This is where Obama and Crime Inc. really look to clean up. (pardon the pun) The Chicago Climate Exchange, where all of these “carbon credits” will be traded, was funded by Obama, during his time on the board of a far left Joyce Foundation. The Chicago Climate Exchange will make money off of each transaction.

This is the Greatest Swindle In Human History © and those involved stand to make, not billions, but TENS of TRILLIONS of DOLLARS from this scam. And indeed, it’s nothing but a scam. This, BTW, is WHY your energy bills will “necessarily skyrocket.” All of this carbon trading will add incredible costs to every single product you buy, or activity you engage in, but energy, which is a particularly dirty business, will be hit hard, and have to purchase insane amounts of these credits. They will pass the costs on to the consumer.

Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. Every time you exhale, you emit carbon dioxide. Plants can’t live without it. In fact, through photosynthesis, plants take CO2 and use it to create oxygen.

This is simply a manufactured crisis that Obama and the likes of Al Gore, Maurice Strong, and others are using in an attempt to become wealthy beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. All of them are owners, along with Goldman Sachs, of the Chicago Climate Exchange. You can read a lot more here and here.

Oh, and it gets better. As Stacy Drake points out here, BP is very much involved with Obama and the entire “climate change” agenda. BP wants to get it’s share of those TRILLIONS of dollars too!

As we point out here, the idea of America getting off of oil within our lifetimes (or our kids, or their kid’s) is highly unlikely, considering that we’ve spent the better part of a century, and untold billions, trying, with few positive results.

In fact, everything you have been told by the left about our energy reserves is a lie. Chad Stafko over at the American Thinker points out that America has over three centuries (300 years) of recoverable oil reserves.

According to a June 2008 article in Kiplinger Magazine, the United States has enough oil reserves to power the nation for upwards of three centuries. That’s three hundred years, Mr. President. We are not running out of oil reserves — it’s just that those oil reserves have been declared off-limits due to decades of environmental lobbying of our politicians, especially those on the Left. This lobbying has driven the likes of BP and others out deep into the Gulf of Mexico to extract the nation’s needed oil.

Note the following statement from the article:

… untapped reserves are estimated at about 2.3 trillion barrels, nearly three times more than the reserves held by Organization of Petroleum Exporting Counties (OPEC) and sufficient to meet 300 years of demand-at today’s levels-for auto, aircraft, heating and industrial fuel, without importing a single barrel of oil.

You can read more here.

What Obama, Soros, Gore, and the rest of Crime Inc. are up to is not only criminal, it’s immoral. Oil is the lifeblood of any economy. Remember, petroleum is used in more than just motor fuels and lubricants. Petroleum is used to manufacture plastics, medicines, literally thousands of products.

It’s also an issue of national security. We send somewhere between $700 billion and $1 trillion out of the country annually to buy crude oil. A good amount of that money goes to countries that hate us, and use this money to actively work against us. It’s insane.

Sarah Palin wrote about this recently, which we talk about here.

To sum this up, Barack Obama, George Soros, and others look to get incredibly rich off of these two schemes, and as a bonus, they get to completely and totally destroy the United States economy, in hopes of rebuilding America as a communist utopia.

These people are evil, pure and simple. Sadly, nothing will happen until the American people demand it, and demand it vigorously. If you are one of those who just sit on the couch and complain, it’s time to get up and get involved. We must stop all of this, and send these people, all of these people, to prison, where they belong.
