Obama Invites Jews to Big Synagogue Campaign Stop – Misspells Israel – Breaks IRS Rules

Barack Obama loves the Jews – He told us so. He even said a prayer at the Wailing Wall. ~Jim Hoft, gateway Pundit

By Gary P Jackson

I’ve been known to misspell a word or two myself, but how does one get something like this wrong?

Hoft notes this also breaks IRS rules that prohibit religious institutions from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign.

  1. I SO DISLIKE THESE PEOPLE!!
    Out them all in Nov.

  2. American/Jewish People Deserve Better

I am amazed at how no one mentions or cares about what that “O” flag symbol is supposed to mean~ I mean what other president has made a United States Flag of his own design~? I am not aware of any so, maybe someone can enlighten me~
And here in this vid he says ” Israel is a friend of Israel” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nUCVL2tLICg

Hi A/JPDB: After looking at Obama’s ‘O’ I recall seeing it in other media
and think it is not a violation of US Flag Protocol: The ‘bit of the Flag co-
lors’ shown on the Congr. Ken Israel handbill is actually a form of ‘Bunting’
which can be used as holiday dressings for platforms, bandstands, and
buildings or in advertizing of all sorts. A distinction exists when this happy,
patriotic decoration is used rather than The Flag itself. I believe that this
‘bunting-thru-the-O’ began appearing about the time that Barack began
wearing his US Flag [buttonhole] pin…As to his ‘Israel is a friend of Israel’
misspeak, if he had been equipped with his Teleprompter, he might not
      have made this error?..Aaron Allen…

  3. Ah, the judenrats are out in full force in PA, I see! Someone outta deface the poster with O’s depressing face – say, maybe draw a little half-mustache like that of a demagogue of another era was known to sport… Or maybe give the face on a poster of Blabbermouth “The
    Joker” treatment!

Hi Gary: Not to be picky but maybe Kenneth Isreal [a Jew of the Common
Era?] spellet his naem this way? Also, if the meeting occurs in the ‘Commu-
nity Center’ of Ken Isreal [not the actual Temple of Worship] this mightn’t
be a violation of IRS Regs/Tax Law? If envelopes are handed out, for con-
tributions made after the meeting when the attendees return home, this is
not a criem? Barack’s photo is not shown as that might violate the Com-
mandment concerning ‘images’? While Ken Isreal might be Reformed [lib-
eral] the rest of the prospective may be Conservative or Orthodox? Sure-
ly Deb, Ally, and Josh know the roaps?..Gee, their naems remind me of
castmembers on one of the Disney-TV ‘tween-age’ shows?..Maybe such
a Jewish TV show wud be popular–complete with one-liners and Klesmer music in the miror mode? Aaron Allen…

Here’s what Jim@Gatewaypundit has as an update on his site:

<blockquote>UPDATE: This came from the Obama folks–

Hi Jim – I saw your post about the typo on the OFA PA invitation to the Jewish Americans for Obama event in Elkins Park, PA.

On background – we noticed the error after a few of the invitations were sent and corrected it immediately, attached is a copy of the corrected flier for your reference.

      Thanks, Jen

But they’re still holding their campaign stop at a synagogue.

Here’s the IRS code on this:

The Restriction of Political Campaign Intervention by Section 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Organizations

Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes.

Certain activities or expenditures may not be prohibited depending on the facts and circumstances. For example, certain voter education activities (including presenting public forums and publishing voter education guides) conducted in a non-partisan manner do not constitute prohibited political campaign activity. In addition, other activities intended to encourage people to participate in the electoral process, such as voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives, would not be prohibited political campaign activity if conducted in a non-partisan manner.

On the other hand, voter education or registration activities with evidence of bias that (a) would favor one candidate over another; (b) oppose a candidate in some manner; or (c) have the effect of favoring a candidate or group of candidates, will constitute prohibited participation or intervention.

The Internal Revenue Service provides resources to exempt organizations and the public to help them understand the prohibition. As part of its examination program, the IRS also monitors whether organizations are complying with the prohibition.

Hi Gary: Thanks for your clarification on the IRS Regs regarding the Jewish
Americans for Obama event [Dem.'stars' Deb, Ally, Josh, and Zach]…In my
judgement, this ‘appearance’ is a ‘civic’ information meeting which is to be
held on the property of Congregation Ken Israel, possibly in their Communi-
ty Center, school building [if applicable], or in their parking lot? It sounds to
me like Cong Ken Israel is allowing J-AFO to hold its ‘meeting’ on Temple
property only–the Congregation is not advocating an ‘official’ position in
the matters to be presented?..Perhaps the organizers shud have included a small-print disclaimer at the bottom of their handbill? A church in my neighborhood has provided its [sanctuary as a 'neighborhood meeting
hall' and made its 'education/community center' the location of our Voting Precinct...Add 'Zach' to the cast of my Disney-like tween sitcom TV show with Klesmer Hip-Hop music[!]..The Magen David [Jewish] star-n-bars on the handbill intrigue me: As a former Air Force person, this logo reminds me of the US national insignia [star with bars on each side] rather than the Flag of Israel or Judiasm…By placing the bars aside the star, less space is used [rather than above-n-below] and this logo can be identified as that
of J-AFO and not necessarily Israel or Judiasm?..Next time, the ‘disclaimer’
    shud be included…Aaron Allen…

[Aaron again]…Actually, I think J-AFO is the ‘inviter’, not Barack. Deb is
the headliner, Ally and Josh also appear. Zach is the producer/organizer.
Congr Ken Israel is the venue–hopefully their Community Center or out-
door property [lawn, parking lot, etc.]…Maybe they will use a large, ‘revi-
val style tent? ‘Ya-all come, already!’.Take-home envelopes are lying on
      a table for later, off-premises ‘offerings’?..Aaron Allen…
