Peter Schweizer and CBS’ “60 Minutes” Release Report That Shows MASSIVE Congressional Corruption in BOTH Political Parties

By Gary P Jackson

There are over 300 million people living in the United States. Out of those 300 million, plus, 535 of them, and their staff, are exempt from many of the laws that apply to the rest of us.

One of those laws concerns insider trading: The trading of stock on information not available to the public. Information only those involved in deals can know. It’s a federal crime. Martha Stewart and others have went to federal prison for this crime.

Congress exempts themselves from these laws and members regularly trade stocks in a manner that would land the rest of us in a federal prison for a long time. As Sunday night’s episode of CBS’ 60 Minutes points out, in the last two years an entire industry has grown around this practice to help corrupt politicians in both political parties become incredibly rich using insider information.

Peter Schweizer’s brand new book Throw Them All Out, which is due out November 15, is going to shake Washington D.C. to it’s very core. Peter, a research fellow at the Hoover Institution and top adviser to Sarah Palin, has uncovered massive corruption that runs through both political parties. His book takes the reader through it all.

Among the things pointed out in the CBS report, based on Peter’s book, is insider trading by former Speaker of the House, and democrat, Nancy Pelosi as well as current Speaker of the House John Boehner the Republican from Ohio. There’s also a questionable land deal by another former Speaker, Republican Dennis Hastert.

As our readers know, questionable land deals aren’t confined to the Ruling Class in Washington. I’ve written about a couple of the many deals Texas Governor Rick Perry has engaged in, including the deal with international gun runner Allan Moffatt, and the “Dirty Dell Deal” involving land surrounding Michael Dell’s compound in the Texas Hill Country near Austin. What Perry has done in Texas with cronyism and patronage is a mini version of what is going on in Washington.

Congress not only writes these laws, they routinely exempt themselves from these same laws. In this case, laws that would land the rest of us in prison for a long time.

As you look at the CBS report, you’ll learn that two members of Congress tried to create a law that would end this exemption, and make Congress live under the same laws as the other 300 million Americans do. Predictably, this bill never caught on. It died a quick death.

As Americans we place a sacred trust in those we elect. They, in theory, work for us. We hire them to go to Washington to represent us. To do our bidding. Sadly, as we’ve seen over the years, once elected most of these weasels forget our names. Instead they go to Washington and make themselves quite wealthy. In some cases, they put off doing things that would help America, because they can make a serious profit for themselves by doing things that harm America, instead.

What they are doing is immoral. Our very Liberty and Freedom has been put in peril because of these corrupt bastards! Meanwhile, Lady Liberty weeps.

A lot of us have assumed that Congress is just full of fools educated well above their level of intelligence, and devoid of even the slightest amount of common sense. Unfortunately, it’s far worse. Congress is just full of crooks, making money on the backs of the American people.

The entire “green jobs” scam is nothing more than one big circle jerk with all concerned making money off one of the biggest scams ever. Meanwhile, we’ll never be energy independent, because too many politicians on both sides sides of the aisle, including presidential candidates like Newt Gingrich, are in bed with “Big Green” and making a lot of green to shove in their bank accounts.

The American people must wake up. As we go into the 2012 election season we must demand that our elected officials either be clean of all corruption, or be gone. That includes the current field of presidential candidates, as well as Congress.

Of course, if we’re being honest, voters share part of the blame. We often worry more about “electability” than the actual candidate. We find ourselves in the same position election after election, and end up voting for the “lesser of two evils” candidate because of this. We have to find honest people to run, support them when they do, stand beside them when they are attacked, and then watch them like a hawk watches chickens after we put them in office.

These people work for us, and must be reminded daily of that fact.

This latest scandal is more proof that We the People need to demand total reform of our government. This must include term limits for all federally elected officials. We’ll be talking about that very soon.
