Here’s an interesting little online poll from Personal Liberty Digest.
It’s an online poll, and in no way scientific, but telling nonetheless:
1)Do you think Sarah Palin should run?
62% voted: Yes
36% voted: No
2% voted: Undecided2) Would a Sarah Palin candidacy re-energize The Tea Party?
65% voted: Yes, Sarah is The Tea Party’s candidate of choice
25% voted: No, The Tea Party will support another candidate
10% voted: Not sure3) Could Sarah Palin beat Barack Obama?
60% voted: Yes she can
11% voted: Maybe
29% voted: No way4) Which political party do you most closely align with philosophically?
6% voted: Democrat
37% voted: Republican
10% voted: Libertarian
28% voted: Tea Party
16% voted: Independent
4% voted: Other
I like Palin…and, in retrospect, I’m really sorry she didn’t get into the race. However, this whole discussion of an uber-late Palin entry just strikes me as delusional. I simply can’t envision someone STARTING a presidential campaign this far into the primary. Has anything like that EVER been done?
excluding the old “brokered conventions” back in the day…
I’ll be posting a new poll shortly. 58% of Republicans want a different candidate than those we have now. That’s unprecedented. Last month 46% of ALL voters, in both parties, said absolutely no one running for President, including Obama, would make a good on!
It may be delusional, but most people do not like the current candidates.
I don’t know if anyone has successfully started a candidacy this far into a season, but if anyone could pull it off, Sarah could, and the timing is most certainly right.
SHE STILL HAVE TIME, I WONDER IF SHE SEES THIS POLL, THAT THERE ARE MILLIONS WHO WOULD VOTE FOR HER!
There have been late candidates before, but election calenders (and the tempo/tone/culture/money) have changed. I’d suppose anything is possible. If nothing more, Palin would have “street cred” if she tried.
Something to think about:
My two biggest wishes: Voter ID laws and CLOSED GOP primaries!!!!
