New Hard Hitting Rick Santorum Ad Exposes a True Axis of Evil

By Gary P Jackson

Rick Santorum is not backing down one bit as he continues to campaign for the Republican nomination for president. Rick has just released a hard hitting ad that gets right to the heart of the matter and makes the case for why he is the conservative alternative in the race:

This is a good ad. It makes the point of who sides with who and it does it well. Though he could have added more examples of all three standing together, like gun grabbing, and “green energy” scams, this should do the trick.

Though he still has a really rough row to hoe, there is good news out there for Rick. The Weekly Standard has this to say about his chances in Missouri:

In Missouri, where the next Republican primary will take place (next Tuesday), a new poll by PPP shows Rick Santorum leading Mitt Romney by 11 percentage points — 45 to 34 percent — while Ron Paul has 13 percent support. Newt Gingrich isn’t on the ballot in Missouri, so the Show Me State offers a prime opening for Santorum to build on his earlier victory in neighboring Iowa.

Perhaps even more encouraging for Santorum are the candidates’ respective favorability ratings among prospective primary voters in the state. Santorum’s net favorability rating is +42 percent (63 percent favorable to 21 percent unfavorable), compared to +10 percent for Romney (46 percent favorable to 36 percent unfavorable). (Paul’s net favorability rating is minus-29 percent — 28 percent favorable to 57 percent unfavorable.)

Santorum has won the last two debates and totally destroyed the myth that Newt Gingrich is some sort of world champion of the world debater. Like Romney, Santorum has shown he has absolutely no problem with going for the jugular if that’s what it takes.

Those who are looking for a serious Conservative alternative need to take a long and hard look at Rick Santorum. Rick is a serious and reliable candidate. He was a serious and reliable Senator.

I know none of these candidates are perfect. Many of us have a different idea of who the perfect candidate would have been. She didn’t run, so we have to look at those who actually are. And frankly, Santorum and even Romney are better than the rest of the pack.

Personally, I’d like to see it come down to Mitt and Rick. Newt Gingrich is a drama queen, and his antics are distracting the campaigns from the real issues. All of the candidates are fighting each other, that’s what primaries are for, but if it comes down to Romney and Santorum, we will likely see more substantive debate and less carnival sideshow.

A good race between Mitt and Rick would make either man a stronger candidate when it comes time to whip Obama.

I haven’t endorsed a candidate, but I sure like the thought of Rick Santorum fighting hard for Conservatism. If you agree, send him a buck or two here.

This gives me a way to assess who is for what and this ad does seem to put Newt on the wrong side~ After Romney spent 17 million on ads in Florida it will be interesting to see how much everyone else is willing to spend for the circus you mention throughout the rest of the states~ American people are tired of the side show and are wanting to see plans to fix the country~ Thanks for this post Gary I will be glad to share it with others~

I don’t have a problem with spending money. That’s what it takes. Newt is getting a ton of money as well. Problem is, Mitt is well organized, Newt isn’t.

That said, I hope a bunch of folks look at Santorum. He may be a good choice.

      Thanks for sharing the video!

  2. At this point, it looks as if Rick Santorum, instead of wanting to lead the Conservative movement to defeat RINO Romney, is now only ensuring that Conservatives have NO REAL VOTE this year. History may prove to be very rough on Rick Santorum, since he may well cost the Conservative movement any real chance at beating Obama and ovoid the road to Hell. Thanks for nothing, Santorum.!!! Go Newt!

    • Gary P

Go Newt? Newt Gingrich? And you’re talking about the Conservative movement?

Hate to wake you from your Koolaid induced stupor, but Newt is about as Conservative as Barack Obama. In fact, with his record of standing with the socialists when the chips are down, that dates back to the 1970’s, Newt should be running for the democrat nomination. Newt has done more to further the cause of socialism in America than many democrats.

Newt is by far the least conservative compared to Santorum, or Romney. Newt has talked conservative out of one side of his mouth while the other side of his mouth was flat out talking socialism. Newt has taken many actions that back up his socialist cred.
Here is an enlightening article on Rick Santorum. Santorum may end up ahead of Gingrich. Remember that Gingrich has lost 3 of 4 state primaries and came in with total votes less than Santorum in 2 out of the 4 states. Santorum may end up with more delegates going into the home stretch
In which case, it would be Gingrich who could be called a “spoiler.”

Indeed. Newt doesn’t have a Conservative bone in his body. Hopefully more people will look at Santorum.

God, talk about a roller-coaster ride!! I’ve been “up & down & all around” – as that crazy Sinatra song goes! – but over the past 36 hours (since FL), I’ve been angry at the presumption & arrogance of Romney and feel like Palin – i.e., “Rage against the machine!!” But I strong disagree with my heroine when it comes to the alternative – Gingrich: No way, Jose!! And now that Santorum is still standing – and not all that far back (compared to Paul) – and, really, the only one with a consistent, honorable Conservative position, he’s beginning to look better & better to me, and I don’t care if he doesn’t get the nod in the end; I’d be thrilled with a REAL & principled fight between the Conservatives & the Libs, Santorum & Romney – a fight to the finish at the Convention. I’m confident, too, that Santorum will continue to stand strong and handle all the crap with the dignity & class he’s exhibited so far.

Now, as you can tell, I’m out of the doldrums and back in the ring! And I’m esp. thrilled that Gingrich WON’T be on the ballot in MO (that was a major goof-up on his & his team’s part, that’s for sure!!) – which’ll give Rick a chance to shine and gain some mojo, PLUS the possibility of winning some more ballots and, in the process, more “street cred” every day! Go, Rick, go!!

Crazy indeed. Some of the upcoming primaries favor Rick. Missouri is one of them.

If nothing else, a Romney-Santorum race would be more focused than what we have now.

      Joy,

Just have a question, when was Ron Paul not consistent? And how consistent was Ricky old boy when he voted to raise the debt ceiling EVERY TIME.

I am not a Paul supporter but the fact is simple he is hands down the most consistent (now agreeing with him is a different thing). Also I see a lot of talk about Newt and Rick in the media but lets face it, they really have no chance in winning the primary barring Mitt falling over dead. Neither has money both are off many ballots they are dead in the water. It looks to me like Mitt will be running against big O and we will most likely have 4 more years. This is going to get VERY troubling when big O doesn’t have to worry about getting re-elected in his second term.

      • Joy

Jon, “consistency” isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be!! All the great & evil dictators in history have mostly been consistent – and we can read from history how THAT worked out for the poor schlubs who were under their bloody thumb! One thing about Paul that seems to fall below the radar – certainly that of the Paul-bots – is that Paul has voted for many earmarks over the years (so, how does THAT square with his anti-big-gov’t position?); plus he votes for measures he proposes that are bound to lose – just so he can say that he voted “the right way,” even though the measure went down to defeat.

But besides his endless mantra of “kill the Fed,” he also wants the US to cut extraordinary ties to Israel and treat them just like one of the other nation states in the region; except the majority muzzie states are polar opposites of Israel – and not necessarily our ally.

So, as they say, you can keep Paul & his rotten consistency – it makes me sick!!

        Hello Joy,

Thanks for posting the comment. I know many people are concerned with Isreal and the Paul stance on the issue (I have to say I thought it was crazy)!! Then I watched cspan when the Isreal Prime Minister was talking and asked for what Ron Paul has been saying http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ljxQn5nm8A so I then thought I think this man knows MUCH more than you, I or any other politician in the United States. I very much look forward to your thoughts on this video.

So Ron Paul placed earmarks in bills and voted against them. I have heard his explanation on this and it’s a hard one to explain. But I beleive Rick has stated many times he is VERY much in favor of earmarks. So how if you have such a problem with earmarks are you ok with Rick loving to pass them out?

  4. EXCELLENT!!!!! i heard this was coming out – love it! Not a put down of the others – just an arrow pointing too their history! Facts! Truth! Not an exaggeration … Truth! This is RICK! Best choice, hands down! Thanks for sharing this, Gary!!
