The Washington Post’s Suzi Parker has been suffering from Palin Derangement Syndrome© since the powerful Alaska Governor first took to the national stage. Unable to accept the Governor’s incredible record as a Chief Executive, Parker and her ilk have instead chosen to publish lies and outright nonsense over the years instead.
The latest though, is hilarious. It seems Miss Suzi read some off the wall satirical website called The Daily Currant, which reported that Sarah Palin was set to host a show on Al Jazeera, and decided to treat it as fact. I wonder if Miss Suzi said anything when con artist deluxe, Al Gore, sold his Current network to Al Jareera, and pocketed 500 million Arab oil dollars?
Here’s some of the article that Miss Suzi, a certified idiot, fell for:
Just weeks after leaving Fox News, Sarah Palin is bouncing back by joining the fledgling Al Jazeera America news network as a host and commentator.
The former vice presidential nominee confirmed today that she has signed a multi-million dollar deal to host her own shows and to provide commentary on United States issues for Al Jazeera, which is best known for its news coverage of the Middle East.
After leaving Fox News, Palin said she was hoping to reach a broader audience with her message. When contacted by phone, Palin said Al Jazeera – with its extensive international network – offered her the best opportunity to broadcast to millions of people.
“As you all know, I’m not a big fan of newspapers, journalists, news anchors and the liberal media in general,” Palin said. “But I met with the folks at Al-JaJizzraa (sic) and they told me they reach millions of devoutly religious people who don’t watch CBS or CNN. That tells me they don’t have a liberal bias.”
The Qatar-based Al Jazeera launched an English-language network in 2006 but has struggled to gain acceptance in the United States because of its controversial reporting of Israeli and Middle Eastern issues.
However, the network has doubled down on its investment in America having recently acquired cable network Current TV for $500 million from former Vice President Al Gore. It plans to replace Current with a new United States-based affiliate.
Although no longer involved directly with the network, Gore endorsed Palin’s career move as a sign of Al Jazeera’s commitment to fairness and balance.
“Al Jazeera provides high-quality, intelligent coverage of important issues,” Gore said. “And more importantly, it’s backed by oil money. That means when you get paid…you really get paid.”
Al Jazeera confirmed the deal in a statement released to the press.
“We think Mrs. Sarah Palin will be a wonderful addition to our network,” said Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer bin Mohammed bin Thani Al-Thani, chairman of Al Jazeera.
“We have been informed that Mrs. Palin is very popular and well-respected by the American people. She will provide a friendly face and help us gain acceptance in America as a valuable, fair and reliable news network.”
From Wasilla to the World
New York-based media analyst Elizabeth Lemon says that Palin would help rebrand the network for an American audience.
“In order to crack the U.S. market, you have to have at least a few conservative voices on your airwaves,” Lemon said. “Even MSNBC has Joe Scarborough. You need to hear the conservative viewpoint.”
Palin dismissed the idea that her joining Al Jazeera – where she will host a weekly news show called Palin’s America– would cause a backlash from U.S. conservatives.
“If a liberal darling like Al Gore has no problem selling his network to the Al-Jazimian (sic) people, then I have no problem joining their network,” Palin said. “Americans have a bad view of Muslims because of terrorism and Barack Obama.
“But they also told me that they are very opposed to terrorism,” Palin said. “If they had supported it, that would have been a huge deal-breaker for me.
“And they said I could work from my own home studio, so I wouldn’t have to fly to the Middle East and risk getting my plane hijacked or blown up,”
Palin, who previously served as governor of Alaska, said she also will host a travel show dedicated to showcasing the beauty of her home state for the Arab world.
“Alaska is located very close to the Middle East, yet for some reason we don’t have many Arab tourists,” she said. “We may not have camels, deserts and genies, but we’ve certainly got lots of oil and caribou – which are kinda like the Christian version of camels.”
You can read the rest here.
To be honest, I’m laughing my ass off not only at Miss Suzi but the Currant’s satire. It’s genuinely funny, and they get in a great dig at Al Gore!
Only a moron would read this though and think it’s anything but satire. Let’s break it down:
The supposed quote from Al Gore … and his praise for oil money … should have been Miss Suzi’s first hint she was being put on.
And “New York media annalist Elizabeth Lemon“? Seriously? I mean come on! Frankly, this is an inspired twist by the author, as Liz Lemon is the fictional character played by Tina Fey on NBC’s 30 Rock. How can anyone who pretends to know pop culture, like Miss Suzi not get that?
The notion of Sarah basically doing “Sarah Palin’s Alaska for the Middle East audience and “her” quotes about caribou and such are funny!
Of course, if Miss Suzi had bothered to look at the website’s masthead, or just google the website, she’s seen that the website bills itself as The Global Satirical Newspaper of Record.
A look at other articles on the website includes:
While it’s hit and miss, for the most part, the stuff on the website is genuinely funny, and only a complete moron would mistake anything there as legit.
The Washington Post trying to do damage control after Miss Suzi has made such a massive fool out of herself and the newspaper, has changed not only the headline, but the article itself.
The original headline read: Sarah Palin’s plan to reach ‘millions of devoutly religious people’ through Al Jazeera but has changed it to Sarah Palin tries to stay relevant.
The latter is one of the laziest headlines ever. There are literally hundreds of stories written by liberals monthly about how “irrelevant” Sarah Palin is. Nothing says “irrelevant” better that writing 100,000 words a month describing how “irrelevant” someone is!
The Post also posted this at the top of Miss Suzi’s piece:
CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post incorrectly reported that Sarah Palin had signed on as a contributor to the Al Jazeera America news network. The blogger cited a report on the Daily Currant Web site as the basis for that information without realizing that the piece was satirical.
As you can imagine, readers are giving Miss Suzi and the Post hell in the comments section.
It’s not just Miss Suzi’s stupidity in linking to a satirical article and reporting it as fact that is at issue here. The rest of the piece is total crap as well.
The Sarah Palin Story is a cautionary tale about what can happen when politics and celebrity meet.
Fox News and their once-upon-a-time darling Palin recently parted ways after three years. But it appears that Palin is still trying to find ways to stay relevant while her 15 minutes fades into the political history books.
Miss Suzi goes on to talk about Sarah’s posting about Chris Kyle’s funeral, conveniently leaving out the fact Sarah calls Obama out for not mentioning Kyle or sending someone to represent him at the service for the American hero.
As we noted a while back, Sarah is so irrelevant that during the 2012 election cycle, she had a 75% endorsement success rate, vs Karl Rove’s 1%. And she did most of her endorsement work from Facebook and Twitter. She did campaign in person for several candidates, including Conservative superstar Senator Ted Cruz, but most of her endorsements were simply poss on social media.
I challenge Miss Suzi, or anyone else, to name another politician who can sit at home and type 140 characters on Twitter and accomplish what Sarah Palin can!
Miss Suzi then cites the bogus poll that claims Hillary Clinton is more popular in Alaska than Sarah, and if the two were matched up in 2016, Clinton would win. I hate to tell this gullible fool, but even Mitt Romney carried Alaska. The idea Sarah Palin wouldn’t carry her home state is so laughable it doesn’t deserve any further commentary.
Not being able to come up with anything better on her own, Miss Suzi then quotes fellow Palin derangement Syndrome© sufferer Lara Brown:
Lara Brown, a political science professor at Villanova University, says that Palin’s star flickered the minute she said she wasn’t running for president in 2011.
“She gave up her gladiator status and became a spectator,” Brown told me. “In doing so, she could only stay relevant for so long because the people who rallied behind her in 2008 and wanted her to be their champion in 2012 were sorely disappointed. They believed she had the ‘fire in belly’ for politics and that she was going to be a ‘pit bull-tough hockey mom.’”
Brown points to Palin abandoning the Alaska governorship as the first clue that she may not remain in politics.
“For whatever reason, she has chosen to leave the game – more than once – and that is why she has become a ‘flash in the pan,’” Brown says.
Fame, not legislating, is clearly what Palin still seeks. She had to be at least a bit giddy last month when actress Julianne Moore won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Palin in the HBO miniseries “Game Change.”
Yeah I’m sure Sarah Palin is just ecstatic that a washed up soft core porn actress won a stupid award for her completely fact-free portrayal of Sarah.
In case you missed it at the time, our Stacy Drake was able to rip “Game Change apart in just two articles:
Top 10 Lies of HBO’s “Game Change”
OK, as for the rest of the supposed political analyst’s nonsensical rant:
“Fame, not legislating, is clearly what Palin still seeks.” This should be obvious, especially to someone with a PhD like Lara Brown: Sarah Palin has NEVER legislated. Except for her time on the Wasilla city council, she’s always been in an executive position. Besides being a small business owner, Sarah has been Mayor, Chairman of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, Governor, and Chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission. Chief Executives don’t legislate. They lead.
“Brown points to Palin abandoning the Alaska governorship as the first clue that she may not remain in politics.
First off, anyone who doesn’t understand what happened and why Sarah Palin resigned as Governor simply doesn’t want to understand, or is flat out lying to their readers. Looking back it was a brilliant move. Her agenda was still being implemented, and she stopped Obama’s hand picked thugs, who were costing the state of Alaska millions, dead in their tracks.
Brown thinks Sarah has been sitting on the sidelines since 2008. I guess she forgets Sarah lead Conservatives in 2010 and helped bring about the largest political turnover of power since Reconstruction after the Civil War.
You can read the rest of Miss Suzi’s nonsense here.
Granted, there were Palin supporters who were disappointed that she didn’t run for President in 2012, but looking back, it was a smart move.
Personally, I have followed Governor Palin’s career since early 2007. I’ve come to understand that Sarah has some of the best political instincts of any politician in history. She saw 2012 wasn’t her time. I respect that.
It’s still to be seen what she will do, politically, but she’s been quite vocal in saying she’s ready to fight, and when Sarah Palin fights, she fights to win.
It’s hilarious watching these idiotic liberals make fools of themselves every time the attack Sarah Palin though. Over the years, many people have tried and come off looking stupid, and ruining anything that ever passed for their credibility.
Suzi Parker is a fool.
Dave Burge, Iowahawk, writing for Breitbart.com brilliantly adds:
Suzi Parker, Ace Reporter
Something called “Suzi Parker” who writes something called “She The People” at something called “The Washington Post” bagged the scoop of the century earlier today, in a report originally entitled “Sarah Palin’s plan to reach ‘millions of devoutly religious people’ through al-Jazeera”
[ …. ]
Whowhutwhenwhywhere HUH? LOLZ! Man, I guess there just is no end to the stupidity and gullibility of that snowbilly Caribou Barbie, and… oh. Um. Wait. I guess Suzi’s Pulitzer is on hold for the moment, since the story came from a third-rate satire site. So the Post has now updated the scoop with a new title: “Sarah Palin Tries to Stay Relevant”
Maybe a more accurate correction would have added “because we are psychologically incapable of disbelieving about any story the voices in our head tell us about Sarah Palin.”
The media wonders why they have no credibility whatsoever. It’s nonsense like this, and idiots like Suzi Parker who have made it so.
When you look up pathetic in the dictionary:
The Washington Post’s Best and Brightest™: Miss Suzi Parker.
