Biology, the Bible, and Breadwinners

by Whitney Pitcher

lioness

This week, political pundit (and known pursuant of a passport to MILF-istan, if Governor Palin is in charge) Erick Erickson made some rather absurd and poorly phrased statements regarding a recent study indicating that more and more women have become the primary breadwinner in their families:

“I’m so used to liberals telling conservatives that they’re anti-science. But liberals who defend this and say it is not a bad thing are very anti-science. When you look at biology — when you look at the natural world — the roles of a male and a female in society and in other animals, the male typically is the dominant role. The female, it’s not antithesis, or it’s not competing, it’s a complementary role.”

Erickson seems to be conflating providing for one’s family as being “dominant”, and it is a horrible choice of words. If he had chosen the rhetoric and tone of the last sentence of the above excerpt, he wouldn’t be hit by even those of us on the Right like he is right now.

In “biology”, since that’s the term Erickson wants to use, there are a wide range of family structures. Very few species are monogamous. Bald eagles are among the few. Additionally, despite popular belief to the contrary, the female African lion does more hunting than the male lions. In other words, they are the primary breadwinners of the pride. Heck, in one species–the seahorse–the male carries the fertilized eggs! So much for pointing to biology for an example to prove so called male “dominance”.

Erickson later posts at a RedState a supposed clarification of his comments, yet he emphasizes the concept of males being “dominant”. Perhaps it is just semantics, but it is a poor way to try to simultaneously emphasize “complementary” roles in marriage.

Erickson professes to be a Christian, and the Bible says a lot about men’s and women’s roles in a marriage and in a family. There is a lot about women being breadwinners alongside their husbands. There is the oft quoted “Woman of Noble Character” described in Proverbs 31, where the woman acts as clothing designer, cook, land trader, farmer, and merchant in addition to her roles within the her family. In Acts, the author Luke discusses the roles of Priscilla and Acquila both as tentmakers, not just Acquila. When the apostle Paul discusses the roles of men and women in marriage, he writes to the church in Ephesus:

22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”32 This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

-Ephesians 5:22-33

The role of the husband is not one of dominance, but of devotion to his wife.

However, often lost when this passage is referenced is the verse that comes before the above excerpt, which reads, “submit to one another out of reverence for Christ”. Submission is not limited to a wife’s relationship to her husband. It is a call for selflessness in all who profess Christ.

I grew up in a home where my mom’s role was as a “domestic engineer”, as she called it. Between church, my sister’s and my school, and the community, my mom probably volunteered the equivalent weekly hours of a full time job. After having kids, she did not have a paying job until I was in high school. Even then, my dad was still the primary breadwinner. It is my personal belief that, more often than not, two parent homes provide much greater spiritual, emotional, and financial stability. However, there are many bad situations where both a mom and dad are present, and there are a lot of good situations where there are single parents involved. Erickson does recognizes this to an extent in his clarification, but it gets lost in the “dominance” rhetoric and sweeping generalizations.

Broken marriages and homes are symptoms of a fallen man, and they cannot be fixed by political punditry. There is opportunity for spiritual renewal in America that can provide a better society for politics to operate, but we cannot fix such problems with politics. Otherwise, we just become social conservatives wanting government to be god. We must face societal realities in solving economic and political problems. Personally, I like the way Representative Marsha Blackburn responded to the news of the “female breadwinners” study when she tweeted:

Continue to remember that economic problems are just that, economic problems. That isn’t to say that the importance of a strong family structure can’t be noted, but when the rhetoric of “dominance” dominates, then the rhetoric of complementary roles is overshadowed. Otherwise, conservatism, a movement founded in independence and real equality, becomes mired by paternal rhetoric.

Former CIA Officer Mike Baker on the Latest Benghazi Bombshell

benghazi_cloud_white_house_10-28-12-2[3]

All that matters is the gross dereliction duty by President Obama

~ Mike Baker

By Gary P Jackson

CBS News’ Sharyl Attkisson tweeted a real bombshell on Thursday afternoon. It seems the Obama regime wanted the hospital where Ambassador Chris Steven’s body ended up at, to list him as a “John Doe” rather than under his real name.

According to the official, U.S. officials aren’t certain to this day whether Stevens was still alive when local Libyans made cell phone video recordings of his body being carried or dragged from the U.S. mission, possibly by looters.

And they still don’t know exactly who transported him to the Benghazi Medical Center where they say medical personnel attempted resuscitation, unsuccessfully, for about 40 minutes (90 minutes, according to published accounts from a Libyan doctor). When pieced together with previously provided information, this is how the search for Stevens is said to have unfolded, according to the official:

On Tuesday, Sept. 11, around the 10 p.m. hour (4 p.m. ET), State Department Information Officer Sean Smith’s body had been pulled from the burned out U.S. mission, but nobody was able to locate Stevens in the smoky building. In the 11 p.m. hour (5 p.m. ET), a group of Libyans, possibly looters, found Stevens and pulled him out of the U.S. mission. Somebody transported him to Benghazi Medical Center where CPR was attempted. Initially, it’s believed that doctors did not know who Stevens was. An unidentified man speaking Arabic used a cell phone Stevens had in his possession to call the U.S. embassy in Tripoli (the number was programmed into the phone). He seemed to want Americans to come to the hospital to retrieve Stevens, but U.S. officials were suspicious. The hospital was known to be under the influence of hostile militia and Embassy officials sensed a possible trap, so they opted not to attempt to send a U.S. rescue team now waiting at Benghazi’s airport.

A familiar local to whom Americans refer as “Babakar” sent word to the U.S. embassy that Stevens had, indeed, passed away. Babakar sent some of his associates to recover Stevens’ body at the hospital. When hospital officials asked what name should be entered on the death certificate, U.S. officials relayed the message to use “John Doe.” Babakar’s associates eventually transported Stevens’ body to the airport where it was turned over to Americans.

There are several reasons why this would happen. One, of course, was to protect the remains of Ambassador Stevens from the Muslim savages who might like to do further damage to his body, as they are known to do. The other reason was to cover up the truth.

The report goes on to say: [emphasis mine]

Stevens’ body was then taken to an FBI facility in Dover, Del., for an autopsy which revealed he died of asphyxia, presumably from smoke inhalation. Officials found no internal damage, no indication of assault and no mistreatment of his body. Stevens was then transported to a funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 15 and cremated, at his family’s request.

This makes one think the whole exercise was about a cover-up and protecting Obama’s narrow ass!

How in the hell could the official autopsy get away with saying there was “no indication of assault and no mistreatment of his body“?

Here are the very graphic, and disturbing photos of Muslim animals dragging the still alive Ambassador through the streets! The man didn’t die of “smoke inhalation” that’s for damned sure!

Ambassador Stevens dragged through the streets of Benghazi

It’s been widely reported that Ambassador Stevens was also sodomized both before his death, and afterward. This is something that these Muslim animals get a thrill doing.

This morning Mike Baker was blunt in his assessment of the entire Benghazi scandal:

BREAKING: LA Sen. Elbert Guillory Switches Parties, Now First Black GOP State Senator Since Reconstruction

Senator Elbert Guillory

By Gary P Jackson

Here’s an interesting development over in Louisiana. Senator Elbert Guillory, a democrat, has switched parties to become a Republican.

The Senator announced his switch from the democratic party at a noon luncheon during the At Large Conference, a gathering of black conservatives from around the nation, according to The Advertiser:

The senator switched from Republican to Democrat when he ran for the House of Representatives in 2007. He has broken with the Democratic Party on numerous issues, taking a more conservative stance.

The luncheon was scheduled to present the Frederick Douglass Award as a conservative leader in the Legislature. The conference’s goal is “to celebrate the determination by black conservatives to lead Americans away from dependency on the government.”

The New Orleans Times Picayune adds:

Guillory has a conservative voting record and has long been an ally of Gov. Bobby Jindal’s administration, particularly on education and retirement issues.

With Guillory’s switch, Republicans will hold 25 seats in the 39-member state Senate.

Not sure what motivated Guillory to switch to the democrat party in the first place, but a quick look at his record indicates he’s been mostly Conservative all along.

This is, of course, a big deal in Louisiana. Could have national implications as well.

I’m sure loving, tolerant democrats will weigh in on the matter shortly, as only they can!

Jen Kuznicki: [Rove Operative] Peter Wehner Attacks Phyllis Schlafly

peter_wehner_assclown

By Stacy Drake
Follow Stacy on Twitter

In a great read from last April, Jen Kuznicki pointed out Peter Wehner’s association and infatuation with Karl Rove. Today, she calls him out for attacking Phyllis Schlafly. Take a look:

Boy, the list of female conservatives being attacked by Pete Wehner is growing longer…

Wehner refutes Schlafly’s assertion that the Hispanic vote is not something the GOP should be concentrating on by saying,

The notion that there’s “not the slightest bit of evidence” that Hispanics are going to vote Republican is quite wrong. George W. Bush won roughly 40 percent of the Hispanic vote in 2004.

But Wehner is either purposefully ignoring her point, or he’s vacant.

Schlafly said, “The Hispanics who come in like this are going to vote Democrat. And there is not the slightest bit of evidence that they are going to vote Republican.” Meaning, those who are being talked about as able to “come out of the shadows” because of another attempt by Congress to fix a broken system, are not likely to vote Republican. Why? Wehner knows why, just as Heather MacDonald has pointed out, “ It is not immigration policy that creates the strong bond between Hispanics and the Democratic party, but the core Democratic principles of a more generous safety net, strong government intervention in the economy, and progressive taxation.

But then, Wehner is a proponent of big government, as in his generous tribute to Peter Berkowitz, who wants libertarians and conservatives alike to accept that big government is here to stay, so get over it already.

Schlafly is unwavering in her fight for limited government and the civil society. She is viewed by most who know little of her, as a social conservative, something the Bushies, including Jebby and Rove and Wehner want nixed from the Republican party. So, it is easy to see why he attacks her today.

He has attacked Sarah Palin, just as he attacks Schlafly, but with the years of experience, wisdom and intelligence that both of these women exude, I can imagine it must somehow threaten his thought process enough to attack them. But it is his thought process that is deeply flawed and blind to reason.

When a person like Wehner, who sees nothing wrong with big government, tries to push his view, he comes upon a troublesome hurdle, namely, that since the demographics of the last election show a nation who wants big government, well by golly, Republicans can offer it. The problem with that, is that the nation can no longer remain what it was meant to be. And that helps one understand just how much Wehner holds America in regard. For if you cannot appeal to all people with the intent of the founding, the goodness of the individual, the preciousness of family, and the good Lord above, the country is completely lost. But hey, Pete’ll take it.

[…]

The Bushies like Wehner and Rove are pushing the party in a direction the grassroots does not want it pushed. Mostly because we grassroots warriors are the closest to our constituencies. We cannot go out, because of this push for amnesty and Toomey’s backing of gun legislation and so on, and ask for their votes when they are ticked off that these Republicans are throwing away our core principles. To ignore what your own people, who have voted for you in the past, know about their party is disastrous.

WTF? Hezbollah Commander Known as “God of Death” Posed as Special Forces Officer at Ft Sam Houston!

Mideast Israel Striking Syria

Ten pounds of anthrax in a medium-size suitcase, carried by a Jihad warrior through the tunnels can kill 300,000 Americans in one hour,” he said. “It will make 9/11 look like peanuts. There’s no need for plans… Just one courageous man, to spread this confetti on the White House lawn. Then we will really be able to celebrate.“

~ Hezbollah leader on how easy one of it’s members could cross over from Mexico and commit a major act of terror.

By Gary P Jackson

Back in February I talked about the latest craze in terrorism, Hezbollah murderers going to the country of Belize, obtaining “cleansed” passports that would allow them to enter the United States through Mexico.

We already had one radical Muslim terrorist infiltrate the United States Army and commit a violent act of terror at Ft Hood, Texas. Never mind that President Obama calls it “workplace violence.” We have a serious problem!

Now comes the story of Wissam Allouche, a vicious Hezbollah terrorist, who was able to become a United States citizen in 2009, thanks to the incompetent morons who run our immigration department.

From Creeping Sharia:

Are people at the DoD and DHS being fired for their incompetence in not identifying this Muslim terrorists membership in Islamic terror groups that have killed Americans? via Accused ex-Hezbollah member referred to as “god of death” – San Antonio Express-News.

[Wissam] Allouche was arrested by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force here last week after being indicted on charges of not disclosing, during his quest to obtain his U.S. citizenship, his membership in the Amal militia and Hezbollah in Lebanon in the 1980s and lying about matters related to his marriage to a U.S. citizen.

He is also charged with not disclosing his prior membership in those groups when he applied for a security clearance with the Defense Department as he sought a contracting job. Before 2009, Allouche worked for L3, which provides linguistic services for the U.S. military overseas, and he was deployed for several months to Iraq. He has lived in the U.S. since about 2002, and once owned Windcrest Mobil, a gas station at Walzem and Interstate 35, according to his lawyer.

He is not charged specifically with espionage or terrorist activity. Hezbollah, conceived by Muslim clericks, was formed in the 1980s in the wake of the Israeli occupation of Lebanon, and has been considered a terrorist group by the U.S. since 1997, according to testimony and news reports. Some reports said Hezbollah was formed by members of the Amal movement, and other reports say Hezbollah gets support from Iran and Syria.

For more than three years, the task force has been investigating Allouche, and even used an undercover person to record conversations with him, authorities said. The FBI raided his then-home in Universal City in 2011, and found documents which they claim he fabricated to falsely show he had security clearances, membership in U.S. special forces and Defense Department intelligence units.

He admitted on tape that he was a member of Amal and that he was a commander of Hezbollah,” prosecutor Mark Roomberg told the judge, who agreed to keep Allouche behind bars pending trial.

Roomberg also claimed Allouche admitted to “sodomizing and murdering an Israeli POW.”

Allouche entered a not guilty plea to the charges, and his lawyer, Cynthia Orr, challenged the government’s characterization of her client.

Much of “the evidence comes from his disgruntled ex-wife and his disgruntled ex-father-in-law,” Orr told the judge.

No derogatory information was found about his character, loyalty and honesty,” an official with the Department of Homeland Security wrote about Allouche, and he was granted citizenship, according to documents submitted at Wednesday’s hearing.

But the department also asked the Joint Terrorism Task Force to take a look.

Army Criminal Investigations agent Jeff Cram, a member of the task force, testified that an investigation revealed Allouche’s ties. And, Cram said, Allouche was seen by at least two people at Fort Sam dressed in U.S. military uniform displaying insignias from special forces, and the rank of major.

He also boasted to women on base of being in the special forces, Cram testified.

While Orr argued that it could have simply been flirtation, Roomberg and Cram alleged a “honey pot” or a “honey trap” situation — recruiting someone into espionage through a romantic relationship.

Cram also testified that the task force received eight photos from a source showing Allouche during his days with Amal and Hezbollah. In them, he is holding assault rifles or rocket propelled grenades, Cram said.

He was given at least three aliases,” Cram testified.

One meant “god of death,” Cram said, adding that Allouche was also known for “acting crazy or acting dangerously.

If convicted of lying in his naturalization forms, Allouche faces up to 10 years in prison, and his citizenship would be revoked. He faces up to five years in prison for the charge of lying on security-clearance forms.

First of all, what is the Muslim fascination with sodomizing their enemies? We know, for example, after Muslim terrorists murdered Ambassador Chris Stevens in Benghazi, they took turns sodomizing him, both while he was still alive, and after his death. It’s believed these were the same Muslim radicals who sodomized Qaddafi when the former Libyan dictator was captured and killed.

It’s particularly odd, since Muslims routinely torture and kill homosexuals. Homosexuality is a crime under Sharia Law.

Mark Tapson has more on this barbaric Muslim practice, here.

Sexual perversions aside, this is incredibly troubling, especially at a time while the Treasonous Bastards™ in Congress are looking to give amnesty and benefits to 20-30 MILLION illegal, criminal aliens.

Our immigration system is broken, mainly because the system is seemingly run by idiots! Our immigration system is broken because we have a president who instructs his cabinet officers to ignore the law. Our immigration system is broken because it has allowed 20-30 MILLION illegals to exist in America in the first place!

That a terrorist could enter the country is bad enough. That a known Hezbollah COMMANDER could become a United States citizen, is worse.

Now’s a good time to remind you to call your members of Congress and demand this amnesty nonsense stop immediately, and demand further that people in charge of immigration be fired.

Governor Sarah Palin: Small Town America is The Soul of Our Country

Republic Tigers T-Shirt

Governor Sarah Palin will be the honored speaker at the high school graduation ceremonies in Republic, Washington on Saturday. The students, who worked hard to convince her to come, felt the Governor best represents what America is all about.

Sadly, the liberal swine that pollute most news rooms these days, have chosen to bash both the Governor, and the high school, over it’s rather small size.

We’ve seen headlines like “It’s come to this” inferring that somehow, this was the best the Governor could do. As Sarah notes below, these pathetic liberals absolutely miss the point, yet again.

~ Gary

By Sarah Palin

Small town America is the soul of our country, despite the opinion of the Seattle Weekly’s Ellis Conklin and the lamestream media. Todd and I are on our way to congratulate the graduating class in Republic, Washington, this Saturday and I’m honored and touched by their ingenuity, tenacity, and invitation to speak to these young Americans about to begin their futures.

Small town America is our heart; it may not be the Ivy Leagues or what Ellis and the media deem acceptable, but these students and this town represent what is good and right about America and the small towns where most of us grew our own roots and values.

Too often the media forgets its own humble roots and plays the elitist card. Not so this weekend. We are going to congratulate the Tigers of 2013 and have something special for each and every one. They will grow to defend our country, manage our economy, build our families, and work to achieve each of their own personal dreams.

Sorry, Seattle Weekly, you, as usual, miss the point.

Drag Racing Star Courtney Force at the Indy 500 Festivities

Courtney Force Indy 2013 Target Pits

From John Force Racing:

Courtney Force, driver of the Traxxas Ford Mustang Funny Car, attended Carb Day and experienced the festivities leading up to the 97th running of the Indianapolis 500 this past weekend. The 24-year-old wanted to show her support for the series and represent NHRA as one of the sport’s many female racers.

Force enjoyed another “off-weekend” at yet another race track touring the paddock and making a couple stops in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway media center before watching final practice for the Indy car teams.

It was great having one off weekend, but I couldn’t keep myself away from the race track. I was able to watch final practice for the Indy 500, meet a lot of really cool people involved in Indy Car, talk to some fans at the Automobile Club of Southern California display and tour the paddock,” said Force.

CF_Auto Club Stage

She met with team owner Chip Ganassi, drivers Dario Franchitti and Scott Dixon in the Target Chip Ganassi camp as well as the legendary Alex Zanardi, just moments before an emotional presentation where Ganassi presented Zanardi with a restored “Old Midnight,” the car Zanardi drove last in 2011 before losing both of his legs in a crash.

The highlight for me was hanging out with Dario, Scott and Alex and hearing about Alex’s first time watching from the starting line when one of our cars took off and how it affected him. He told us that he was blown away by the power of the run, until he realized it was just the burnout! He watched a full run and said got emotional from experiencing the power of our cars, which was amazing to hear. We talked about a lot of differences between Funny Cars and Indy Cars. It was a blast to hear all of the questions and comments coming from a group of guys who I admire and look up to in another form of racing,” said Force.

True the Vote’s Catherine Engelbrecht and Cleta Mitchell Talk About Lawsuit Against IRS

CatherineTrueTheVote_thumb2

By Gary P Jackson

We told you about the assault on Catherine Engelbrecht and True the Vote, and how the Obama regime not only unleashed the IRS on True the Vote, but the FBI, EPA, and even OSHA to harass both Engelbrecht and the manufacturing business she and her husband own.

Engelbrecht and her attorney Cleta Mitchell talk to Bill O’Reilly about the case:

CBS News has now picked up on the story, thanks to Sharyl Attkisson, who is rapidly becoming one of our favorite journalists. Someone unafraid to tell the truth.

Texas businesswoman Catherine Engelbrecht says she never had trouble with the government. That is, until she founded two groups with conservative causes. Now, she’s telling a fascinating story of alleged harassment not only by the IRS but also other agencies that she believes targeted her and her organizations because of their political ties. …

The trouble began shortly after Engelbrecht founded True the Vote, which trains election volunteers and aims to root out voter fraud; and King Street Patriots, a group with ideals similar to the Tea Party. Both sought tax-exempt status from the IRS in July 2010. And both organizations drew the ire of Democrats. Democrats accused True the Vote of intimidating voters in its poll watching efforts, which the group denies. And the Texas Democratic Party successfully sued King Street Patriots, arguing that it’s an unregistered political action committee.

But Engelbrecht’s attorney, Cleta Mitchell, says it’s not just the Democratic Party that went after the conservative causes, but also the federal government. Within months of the groups filing for tax-exempt status, Engelbrecht claims she started getting hit by an onslaught of harassment: six FBI domestic terrorism inquiries, an IRS visit, two IRS business audits, two IRS personal audits, and inspections of her equipment manufacturing company by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Texas environmental quality officials.

Taken alone, any of the visits and actions might seem perfectly reasonable. But Engelbrecht and her lawyer says it’s the pattern and the timing of the attention paid to Engelbrecht’s interests that led them to conclude something was amiss.

How bad is all of this? An attorney who represents liberals in tax exempt cases finds this harassment “very troubling

Washington, D.C., attorney John Pomeranz represents liberal organizations seeking tax-exemption. He told CBS News that he has found some of the IRS requests of tea party groups “new” and “very troubling,” and said he doesn’t recall getting similar demands for his liberal clients.

This may be one of the worst cases of government harassment of a citizen in our nation’s history. It’s a true black eye on government, that’s for sure.

This is why Big Government must be stopped. Why Big Government is so dangerous to We, the People.
