Fox News Welcomes Back Governor Sarah Palin as Contributor

Karl Rove, and liberals everywhere hardest hit!

By Gary P Jackson

As you know, Sarah Palin left Fox News at the start of the year after an unsatisfactory round of negotiations. Today Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes announced that he had been in talks with Governor Palin for some time and they had finally reached an agreement. Her first day back will be next Monday where she’ll share the couch on Fox and Friends.

From Breitbart’s Tony Lee:

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin is rejoining Fox News as a contributor less than five months after declining the network’s offer to renew her contract.

Palin will make her first return appearance on “Fox & Friends” next Monday. Internet pioneer Matt Drudge first reported the news on The Drudge Report.

The Power of FOX News is unparalleled,” Palin said in a statement. “The role of FOX News in the important debates in our world is indispensable. I am pleased and proud to be rejoining Roger Ailes and the great people at FOX.”

Fox News chairman Roger Ailes said he hopes Palin “continues to speak her mind.

I’ve had several conversations with Governor Palin in the past few weeks about her rejoining FOX News as a contributor,” Ailes said. “I have great confidence in her and am pleased that she will once again add her commentary to our programming.

In January, Palin declined Fox News’s offer to renew her contract. But because she has always been ahead of the curve in using social media to get her message out to the public, Palin’s influence did not diminish. Unlike establishment Republicans, Palin has never been ashamed of the conservative and Tea Party grassroots and has always embraced the conservative base. This was evident when Palin gave her first interview to Breitbart News in January after her separation from Fox News.

Her savvy use of social media and embrace of new media outlets and conservatives allowed her to remain more than relevant and influential during the time she was gone from Fox News.

According to a Politico analysis, Palin “still garnered much of the same coverage in the first four months of this year as she did in 2012” without a Fox News contract:

From January 2012 to May 2012, Palin received 223 mentions in newspapers; 69 in Web-based publications, such as,, POLITICO and; 563 in blogs; and her name appeared in 46 news transcripts, for a total of 901 mentions. During the same period this year, in her post-Fox News life, Palin’s still very much in the conversation, with 118 mentions in newspapers, 55 in Web-based publications, 726 in blogs and 12 in news transcripts, for a total of 911 mentions, and she also wrote an op-ed for the conservative website Breitbart.

The move will be mutually beneficial for both parties, for it once again merges the most dominant network in cable television with the most influential figure to Tea Party conservatives–who is also a guaranteed ratings draw.

This is a great move. Again, Governor Palin has been quite successful at getting her words out to the American people by simply using social media, something she’s turned into an art form, but being on the nation’s highest rated news network will not hurt our cause a bit.

With the all-important 2014 elections on the horizon, Governor Palin’s voice [and influence] will be as strong as ever. She’ll be able to give viewers strong commentary and keep pounding Common Sense Conservatism home.

Governor Palin’s Fox colleagues were quick to welcome her back:

Tony Lee was pleased to share his thoughts on Twitter as well:

This last tweet on the subject hits the nail on the head, and gets to the heart of what Governor Palin has been saying for years, about the permanent political consultant class in politics. The sort that lost Mitt Romney the presidency:

Sarah Palin Big Gulp Liberty

Allow me please to do a ‘Statue Of Liberty’ pose to raise a toast on her triumphant return to FOX News. Roger Ailes knows great, hot talent when he sees it. Button it, O’Reilly. Button it, Carville. You to, Ann Coulter, and Karl Rove. Eat dirt, Beckel. Adios Dick Morris.

  2. Such GREAT news! AsS if she needed another platform and a bigger megaphone… But her return to Fox – and important, relevant commentary – with the 2014 elections on the horizon spells nothing but Good Vibes for Conservatives (and, dare we hope & pray, CITORY” for our candidates!!).

  3. Oops (thanks [??], Gary, for your lousy service – i.e., no way to edit – from WordPress!!), but last line should read, “VICTORY for our candidates!!”

Oh don’t get me started on WP! I had an issue with it and Twitter today, and they were useless at helping!! Was on my own.

But hey, it’s free, so I can’t complain!

      • You mentioned this before – and I’m sympathetic with your situation. The problem is, is that all the other websites with which I’m in contact – i.e., all the other bloggers that use WordPress – never “cut me off at the – like this one!!pass” – i.e., after 4 or 5 lines, the whole text starts to jump ; and although I can type more text.comments, I can’t go back & edit the invariable mistakes/typews.

Sucks. As the publisher I can do some editing, but I don’t like the fact readers have issues. This is not supposed to be work!

  4. I won’t belabor this any further, but, again, I’ve got to edit in this second commentary: Namely, “…never cut me off at the pass” – like this one! And, in the last line, “I can’t go back and edit the inevitable mistakes & typos.”

  5. Liberals do nothing to prevent this monster from working in healthcare.
