House GOP Leadership Statement On Syria: Will Take Up Question After Recess [Sept 9th]

Boehner Cantor

By Gary P Jackson

A short, to the point statement from the House GOP leadership:

WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA), Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Conference Chair Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) today issued the following joint statement:

Under the Constitution, the responsibility to declare war lies with Congress. We are glad the president is seeking authorization for any military action in Syria in response to serious, substantive questions being raised. In consultation with the president, we expect the House to consider a measure the week of September 9th. This provides the president time to make his case to Congress and the American people.

I’m sorry. It’s hysterically sad. We are Leaderless in Washington!!!!

Kerry: “Decisions must now be made.” (yesterday)

Obama: “Mission is not time sensitive.” (today)

John Boehner and Eric Cantor: “We expect the House to consider a measure the week of September 9th”

Rubio: “Congress should return to Washington immediately.”

Oh yeah, a complete and totally rudderless ship. This is what Obama and the loons that voted for him call “smart power”

I imagine the GOP “leadership” is in no hurry, because they will most certainly vote down any use of military action. Might get in their way of passing amnesty for illegal criminals!

Frankly, for my money, Congress can stay away until after the 2014 elections and a new Congress is sworn in!

I know, right! They should just be paid to stay away.

Amnesty looks like it’s stalling. Not enough fiscal days in September (9), only 14 in October, 40 until the end of the year, plus a lack of support in general despite the push and hype, too many scandals, not enough time (sounds like a song). I am cautiously optimistic, but still will fight it. #NoAmnesty. Rove, Bush, Inc. and the commies are pernicious!

Back to the post: Obama is incompetent! 2014 can’t come soon enough.

        Thanks for posting.

Correction on the comment above. There are 9 days in September, only 14 in October, 40 until the end of the fiscal year. (Those days are legislative.) Thanks.

  3. How come Syria is in the spot light when under the Clinton regime of mass murders of unarmed civilians was common place.

HELLery Clinton called NYC police murders for shooting Mr. Diallo but it was ok for her to tell Janet Reno to kill the unarmed child at Ruby Ridge hoping to draw his patents out so they to could be slaughtered

The Clinton regime of terror was responsible of genocide in Waco Texas where unarmed women and children were burned alive using an army tank against citizens ands non citizens who posed no threat to our national security ..

Before looking to try others of war crimes against humanity why not look at the mass murders these American regimes are guilty of
