By Isabel Matos This is a personal account from someone who was at the Veteran’s Rally yesterday in Washington, D.C. He took the picture above, courtesy of Shark-Tank.net. He is a friend and contributor to that blog site, but he shared his experience with us in our group, which we were very absorbed by today, so I am passing it along for you to enjoy as well. First, the video by iizthatiiz.
By Kevin Cooper I happen to be in the video taken above (at about the 20-24 second mark behind the guy with the white hat to the middle left), but I just wanted to share some exclusive pictures I took of the Governor and a news article (from Shark Tark http://shark-tank.net/2013/10/13/sarah-palin-storms-dc-riot-police-show-up/) with information regarding the event and all that took place yesterday on the National Mall and at the White House.
A helicopter flew overhead and at one point.
The Governor even confronted the police and questioned why they were acting like this.
She came alone, no bodyguards, no entourage – just one assistant and Todd, which was refreshing. After she spoke, Todd told her “lets go back to the car”, and she was like, “Nah, we’re going to walk around and talk to these people” She walked over a mile from the WWII Memorial, through the Vietnam Memorial over to the Lincoln Memorial stopping every 3 feet to take pictures and sign autographs.
It is very unusual for such a famous and well recognized woman who is virtually known by every American to walk around freely and be so welcoming and warm. Here is another picture of Sarah and I. I am on the ground in the bottom left hand corner, with the sunglasses.
A lot happened that day, but overall it was a great experience. She is a great person, very nice. Not sure if you know this, bu she bought the flags (you can see it in her hand) at the store and distributed them to the people at the rally. More images by Kevin Cooper courtesy of the Shark-Tank.net
