Sarah Palin Inspires Texas County Clerk to “Fight Like A Girl” For God and Country

Here’s an interesting story from Bowie County in Northeast Texas. It seems in June, County Clerk Natalie Nichols was out of town, and while she was gone, the Commissioner’s Court voted to wipe out any mention of the prayer and Pledge of Allegiance from its records. They did this on June 13, the day before National Flag Day. That didn’t sit well with Natalie.

Here is video of Natalie Nichols telling the Commissioner’s Court how it’s going to be:

From Devonia Smith:

Inspired by Sarah Palin, a new GOP star was born over the Independence Day weekend. The day after the Fourth of July, news spread like wildfire of the spunky independence of Bowie, Texas, County Clerk Natalie Nichols, who returned from out of town to find that during her absence, (Nichols is rumored to be off at the pre-screening “Undefeated” in Grapevine), the Commissioner’s Court had voted to wipe out any mention of the prayer and Pledge of Allegiance from its records. Nichols refused to bow to that motion, and like Palin, her actions are being applauded nationally. Thus far, she, like Palin is also “Undefeated.”

Though the motion had passed with a 3 to 1 vote approval, Nichols is being heralded as a GOP heroine for thumbing her nose at both the motion and the underlying threat potential of an ACLU lawsuit. The potential of a lawsuit was stated as the reason the motion was passed – and the purpose of not recording the actions in the meetings was in a hope to hide the official record that a small county Court Commission dared to say the Pledge and bow their heads in prayer before official business. Right before Nichols read her statement of refusal, Nichols says that the County Legal Adviser actually said, “She was seeking further legal action.

Nichols is undaunted by the threat of legal action and says that perhaps the ACLU can sue to prevent the prayer, prevent the Pledge and maybe she can be forced out of her position, but Nichols feels certain no one can sue her for doing her job until then – writing down what happens at the meetings. And if any commissioners want to object to the way she does her job, why then, Nichols says she’ll write their objections down as well. But the Pledge, the prayer, those go in and as long as she is there, those will stay in.

A hint about why Nichols didn’t hesitate to challenge the court can be found in Nichol’s personal choice of heroines. A twelfth generation American, Nichols shares that, although she never voted before the last presidential election, she was “inspired by Sarah Palin and realized there were conservative, strong women out there, like myself, and that we actually could make a difference.

She went on to explain why she admired Palin, “mainly because she is a mother and doesn’t apologize for that. She’s holding strong in her convictions and she doesn’t hide her Christianity, which is very important to me.

Read more here.

Here’s an interview Nichols did when she was running for office. She says her political inspiration comes from Ronald Reagan and Sarah Palin. Listening to her speak, I remember reading Sarah Palin’s story. A PTA mom just wanting to make things better for her kids. As I listen to Natalie, I’m thinking we have a future GOP star.

Sarah Palin is important to America for a multitude of reasons, but the fact she inspires so many others to step up and be heard may be one of the most important. Sarah Palin is a living reminder that in America, if you work hard, and use the talents God gave you, you can accomplish anything.

As for Natalie, something tells me we are going to be hearing about her for years to come.

Large Crowd In Minnesota For Bristol and Sarah Palin’s Book Signing

By Gary P Jackson

Fresh from the world premier of The Undefeated in Pella, Iowa, Sarah Palin, Todd, and daughter Bristol were at the Mall of America in Minnesota. Bristol was there to sign copies of her new book Not Afraid of Life and as a bonus, Sarah was signing America by Heart as well.

From The Republic:

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Security is tight as Sarah Palin helps her daughter kick off a book tour at Mall of America.

Both Bloomington police and mall security are on hand Wednesday as the former Alaska governor and Republican vice-presidential candidate appears with Bristol Palin at a joint book-signing.

Customers have to pass through a checkpoint before getting the two to sign copies of their latest books.

The mall estimates about 1,500 people turned out and that the Palins did about 700 autographs.

Bristol Palin’s memoir, “Not Afraid of Life,” came out last week and Wednesday is her first public event. Sarah Palin’s “America by Heart” was released last fall. HarperCollins imprints published both books.

They have some great photos on their website. Click here to view.

Jedediah Bila: Setting the Palin Record Straight

By Gary P Jackson

One of our favorite writers, Jedediah Bila, takes on the left and the Republican establishment in her latest column at Human Events. Here she hammers those who would talk trash about Sarah Palin!

It’s truly astonishing the lengths that some will go to in order to try to discredit Sarah Palin. Sure, the left-wing media loons are a given, but what about the folks on the Right who relentlessly brand her as unelectable, unintelligent, unpresidential, and/or unqualified? What is their basis for those assessments? And if she is so darn unelectable—why the need to consistently, near-obsessively attempt to tear her down?

What’s most interesting about the repeated attacks on Palin – from the Left and the Right – is that they are routinely empty. They are often featured in online hit pieces that are void of any reference to her record and/or her contributions over the past two years to discussions of national and international significance. They focus on absurd criticism of her TLC series, which so many elitists deemed anti-intellectual and so many regular Americans deemed relatable.

They call her a “quitter” because she resigned from the governorship, but don’t reveal the reality that she was faced with numerous frivolous ethics charges made by political operatives that were costing her state hundreds of thousands of dollars and her staff countless hours to refute. The fact that she made the right decision for Alaska, and that the charges were all ultimately dismissed, get buried under the frenzied need some have to try to sabotage her at all costs.

And let’s not forget the manner in which the authors of these hit pieces so often compile every possible negative quotation on Palin they can find, particularly from the mouths of whom they consider to be the conservative intellectual elite. The quotes are typically nonsensical and/or erroneous, and mark embarrassing moments for those who uttered them, as they tend to reflect a complete lack of awareness of Palin’s accomplishments, writings, and outspoken stand on policy initiatives.

Since September 2010 alone, Sarah Palin has penned commentary on such topics as the unrest in Libya, the protests in Wisconsin, Obama’s 2012 budget proposal and State of the Union address, getting tough with Iran and standing with Iranians who seek democracy, challenging the specifics of President Obama’s energy policy, the omnibus spending bill, defeating the New START, opposition to state bailouts, tax policy, a message to Republican freshmen in Congress, opposition to quantitative easing, and more.

She has repeatedly been a leading voice—via television appearances and speaking engagements—against the dangers of ObamaCare and the risks of President Obama’s approach to energy. During the 2010 election season, SarahPAC endorsed 81 candidates across the country. Let’s take a look at a few samples of Palin’s written commentary ….

Jedediah is just getting warmed up! Check out the rest of her column here.

Jedediah Bila: “Send Obama to Wasilla to talk to an energy expert!”

By Gary P Jackson

This is delicious. While appearing on Fox Business News’ Nightly Scoreboard Monday night, Jedediah Bila offered up some solid advice: Send Obama up to Wasilla, Alaska and have Sarah Palin school him in the fine art of drill baby, drill!

It just so happens, Whitney Pitcher reports that Sarah called Obama out, big time, on Tuesday, saying that Obama was “scary wrong” on oil and gas policy. Whitney put together an incredible report on just how much oil and natural gas is available in Alaska as well as the rest of the United States. Check Whitney’s report here.
