Is “America’s News Anchor” Rooting for A First Hispanic Republican President?

We already have La Raza praising 11 House Republicans for their efforts, and Rep. Gutierrez making appearances with them. Although his comments reflect reality accurately, the title of this article should be: Ramos Resents Republican Presidential Hopefuls Rubio, Cruz who happen to be from Cuban Descent.

Breitbart reported: Speaking at Harvard’s Institute of Politics on Tuesday evening, Ramos said that “for the first time in history, there are two Hispanic candidates running for president.” “Regardless of the criticism Republicans receive from the mainstream press, “Republicans have been doing something right that they have two Hispanic candidates. And the Democrats don’t have a single Hispanic candidate for this election”.

He mentioned that if Cruz or Rubio is on the top of the 2016 ticket, it will be very interesting to see if Hispanic Democrats vote for a Latino candidate. Ramos noted that “the majority of Latinos vote for Democrats” and the “majority of Latinos are of Mexican origin” while Rubio and Cruz are both of Cuban descent. He said Latino voters will be faced with the question about whether they should vote for a Latino candidate just because he is Hispanic.

Ramos is correct: the mainstream press is against Republicans; that includes, of course, his own. Let’s get out of the way the difference between the terms Hispanic and Latino for clarity’s sake, since they are used interchangeably often. Hispanics are from Spain or any of the Spanish speaking countries in Latin America. “Latino” is used as an abbreviated form of “Latino-Americano” (Latin-American), or someone coming from Latin America. Some statistics, too:

Hispanics are the second fastest-growing ethnic group in the United States after Asian Americans. Since 1970, the Latino [should be Hispanic not Latino to avoid confusion] population has increased sixfold, from 9.6 million to 53 million as of 1/1/2012. Its is projected that its share of the U.S. population currently at 17% is expected to reach 29% or to 119 million by 2060, according to the latest projections from the U.S. Census Bureau (2014). This figure includes 38 million Hispanophone Americans, making the US home to the largest community of Spanish speakers outside of Mexico, surpassing Argentina, Colombia, and Spain within the last decade.

Now we get to the point (al punto) of this article: shifting the focus away from what we know about Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, to what we should know -if we didn’t already- about Ramos and Univision, since he brought all of this up:

1.  Jorge Ramos is the evening news anchor of Noticiero Univision. He was born in Mexico City 57 years ago. He first came to the United States on a one-year certificate program at UCLA Extension and has enjoyed a long career with Univision where he got a job with a work permit in an L.A. affiliate 30 years ago.

“My English was—I couldn’t even understand myself.”

Ramos hosts “Al Punto” a successful political Sunday talk show on Univision. He is part of digital magazine “Fusion” which targets a younger more liberal audience, covering topics he admits could never be aired on Univision. Ramos is very good at what he does; but his influence does not speak for all Hispanics.

“I went on Jon Stewart the other day and I told him,

‘I’m an immigrant; I need a lot of jobs!”

CITIZENSHIP

Ramos constantly refers to himself as an immigrant. Maybe he does it for symbolic reasons. I was curious, so I did a little research and found this:

Three months later on December 9th, 2007, Univision hosted another forum where anchors, Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas, moderated the first U.S. Republican presidential debate in Spanish. Destino 2008 was held againg at the University of Miami, in Coral Gables, Florida. In February of 2008, Jorge Ramos asked questions to U.S. presidential candidates at the CNN Democratic debate at the University of Texas at Austin, in Austin, Texas:

CNN, Univision and the Texas Democratic Party jointly hosted a debate between Obama and Clinton on February 21 at 7:00 CST on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. The debate was rebroadcast at 10:30 in Spanish. Questions focused heavily on illegal immigration and the economy, among other issues.

But Ramos revealed t.h.i.s. in an Interview on CSPAN on July 11 2010:

Excerpt: Brian Lamb: Why did you become an American citizen and what year did you do it?

Jorge Ramos: I did it in 2008. For me it was very important to participate fully in this country. It’s truly a wonderful country and my fight is that this country would treat other immigrants like me the same way they treated the millions of immigrants who came after me. It’s truly amazing, who could have thought that when John F. Kennedy was writing his book “A Nation of Immigrants,” it was 1958, I was born exactly that year and with those wonderful ideas and of course he was killed in ’63, but in ’65 with the immigration act of 1965 everything changed and because of that, because John F. Kennedy and because of “A Nation of Immigrants” I’m in this country, so I wanted to participate fully. I was very concerned about the war, I was concerned about my kids. Paola who’s 23 right now and Nicolas who’s 12, they were born here in this country and I wanted to – I wanted to be fully part of the United States. This has been a wonderful, generous, and magnificent country for me and I wanted to be part of it. 

It is not clear whether he became a citizen before or after he was allowed to ask questions of the U.S. presidential candidates at the CNN debate in February, 2008, as the views expressed above differ from his views in 2004 where he mentions he is not a U.S. citizen, despite his long years here, “in case I want to return to Mexico to run for office.” [ The interview on CSPAN is long but worth a listen)

That means he was not a citizen in 2007 which raises a lot of questions. Is he sincere or just a hypocrite? It sure seems arrogant to point the finger at U.S. citizens who want their laws enforced, when he may have become a citizen for expediency. [And he has chutzpah to moderate debates if he’s not one!]

RECOGNITION AND AWARDS

Ramos has received the Maria Moors Cabot award from the University of Columbia, he won 8 Emmy awards for excellence in journalism (including the first ever presented by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences to honor leaders of Spanish Language Television). In 2002 he was honored with the ‘Ruben Salazar’ award by the National Council of La Raza for his positive portrayal of Latinos. In 2008 The Commonwealth Club of California recognized him with the Distinguished Citizen Award for being one of the outstanding individuals who embody the American Dream as an immigrant to the United States. Biography

He has said he can do what ever he damn well pleases (“lo que se me pegue la gana”) on his network, Univision. He’s like a pied piper for La Raza, and lord of a land within the land of plenty (ours) whose authority he defies and wants toppled. For that he is rewarded worldwide. Surprise. When questioning others he is sarcastic about the intentions of the undocumented’s: Do you (really) think we want to make the United States an extension of Mexico or claim it as part of our territory? That is Senor Ramos: America’s News Anchor. He’s not just a journalist. He takes his activism seriously. What’s not love if you’re a racist lib?

Christiane Amanpour is mesmerized he swam in the Rio Grande.

[That picture reminds me of Putin’s pictures on a horse.] In her commentary for TIME where he made the cover of 2015’s 100 Most Influential People, she writes:

Ramos wrangles with President Obama and House Speaker John Boehner; he swims the Rio Grande; he says he asks every question as if it’s his last, determined to get an answer or go down trying. What happened to immigration reform? He knows he has a voice and is not afraid to use it. He shouts from every rooftop that Hispanic rights are human rights.

After decades on the cutting edge of the news agenda, Jorge Ramos, who grew up in Mexico, is waging the campaign of a lifetime, which is also a defining issue for America, the country he calls home.

If you haven’t gotten sick yet (I am), there’s more. Yes Ramos is cocky and full of himself, but I would be dishonest intellectually to deny or not admire the passion he has for what he does. In his speech to an audience of leaders he calls rebels [I actually like that term], he toasts the Dreamers, which he calls his real heroes.

“Because Congress has done nothing for a decade, I salute them for taking matters into their own hands and changing American immigration policy.”

The most influential leader of 2015 warns: You do not want to be their enemy, because they will get in your face. They are really American citizens, but don’t have a paper to prove it. He makes a reminder and gives a stern word of caution to politicians and presidential candidates who are thinking of deporting anyone: 

“Latinos will decide the next election and not vote for any candidate who wants to deport their father, their mother, your friends or your neighbors.” 

When I say I like the word rebel, I mean it in a good way (for our cause). And when I say I “admire” his passion, I am really expressing it in the same spirit he pointed out that the Republican Party is doing something right because two Hispanics are running for president. What I really wish is for his ego and immigration views to blast him into oblivion. Maybe in the end he will be seen for what he is: an elitist out for his career like the rest of them! Ramos says he hopes to grow his clout beyond the Latino community with “Fusion“:

“What I really like is that for the first time, I don’t need translation,” he says. “And without translation, there’s an immediate impact. And definitely the language of power is English.” [How romantic sarc>].

It is ironic given that Ramos does not believe that English should be the official language of this country. And also interesting to point out that in an article from a week ago, Fusion heralded Lindsey Graham as “the one GOP candidate who’s actually defending immigration reform”. Now on to Ramos’s show and network..

VIEWERSHIP AND RATINGS

2.  Univision is the largest network aimed at Hispanics in the U.S. It has one of the largest audience of Spanish-language television viewers in the world, according to Nielsen Media Research. NBC’s Telemundo is second. Both have studios, operate and produce in Miami but headquarters are in New York. In recent years, the network has reached viewership parity with the U.S.’s five major English language television networks; it often places a strong fifth, outranking The CW, with some fourth-place weekly placings; as of 2012, even first place rankings for individual programs over all five English networks, attributed to telenovelas. Who knew? So I did a little search on Sunday talk shows and found that although ratings vary weekly ‘Al Punto’ came in 4th or 5th overall and was mentioned even when its ratings were unavailable. I also looked for ratings comparing all five networks for evening news (cable/non cable, English/Spanish) but only found each one promoting its best week or month.

Noticiero Univision evening news reported in February 2012 its rank as:

No. 1 broadcast evening news program with twice as many viewers as the combined audience of “ABC World News Tonight,” “CBS Evening News” and “NBC Nightly News” among Adults 18-34 (195,000 vs. 86,000), Adults 18-49 (433,000 vs. 202,000) and Adults 25-54 (416,000 vs. 246,000). SOURCE Among Bilingual Hispanic Viewers: “Noticiero Univision” delivered 55% more Viewers 2+ than the combined audience of ABC, CBS and NBC’s evening newscasts (930,000 vs. 601,000). Fox News (Univision’s competitor -my assumption not theirs- based on ratings I used) ranked as follows early in 2012:

In Primetime for January 2012, FNC averaged 1,942,000 viewers, an increase of 78% since January 2002 when the network averaged 1,091,000. In fact, the Primetime ratings FNC achieved in 2002 after becoming number one eclipse what CNN and MSNBC are currently averaging today in 2012 (841,000 and 801,000 viewers respectively).  Additionally, FNC’s current 2012-to-date Primetime average beat CNN and MSNBC combined. Fox News’s median age is 65+ but no figures reflect that age group. Viewers 25-54 have fallen but overall prime time audience went up to 2.02 in 2012 from 1.89 million in 2009. The O’Reilly Factor was the top show for Fox (and cable news as a whole), averaging 2.361M total viewers and 365K in the demo at 8 p.m. The Kelly File, which has been beating Bill O’Reilly’s show in the 9 p.m. slot on occasion, came in second overall, averaging 1.998M total viewers and 332K total. SUNDAY TALK SHOWS

In February 2012, Univision, its Sunday morning public affairs program:

“Al Punto” delivered two times more Adults 18-49 (186,000 vs. 91,000) than the combined audience of the English-language broadcast programs (ABC’s “This Week,” CBS’“Face The Nation,” NBC “Meet The Press” and “FOX News Sunday.”)

Rick Kissell Senior Editor of “Fox News Sunday” reported its telecast on July 28, 2014 in the DC market:

averaged 107,000 viewers on WTTG-5 — the second largest audience ever in the nation’s capital, behind only the 132,000 when Chris Wallace interviewed Sarah Palin in 2010 (Interview parts 1, 2, 3 below)

“Fox News Sundays” finished well ahead of NBC’s “Meet the Press” on WRC-4 (73,000), ABC’s “This Week” on WJLA-7 (65,000), CBS’ “Face the Nation” on WUSA-9 (59,000) and Univision’s “Al Punto” on WFDC-14 (57,000). It also led in households (64,000 to 53,000 for “Meet the Press”). In key news demo of adults 25-54, it led in D.C. with 41,000, followed by “This Week” (36,000), “Meet the Press” (33,000), “Al Punto” (32,000) and “Face the Nation” (29,000).

Nick Massella reported NBC’s Ratings in the DC Market  in October , 2014 as follows:

“Meet” secured 65,000 total viewers followed by “FOX News Sunday” with 40,000 in the DC market. In terms of households, NBC also led with 55,000 followed by FOX with 34,000. In the A25-54 demo, FOX took first with 12,000 viewers followed by NBC with 9,000, CBS’s “Face the Nation” with 4,000, and ABC’s “This Week” considered a scratch. * FishbowlDC did not have access to ratings for Univision’s “Al Punto.”

Bob Schieffer’s “Face the Nation”‘s report included “Al Punto” in their 2014 article: “Meet the Press Struggles in the Ratings …” :

“Face the Nation,” hosted by Bob Schieffer, the grandfatherly 77-year-old newsman, not only attracts the largest overall audience (a weekly average of 3.35 million during the first three months of 2014, 5 percent more than “This Week,” 8 percent more than “MTP” and 61 percent more than “Fox News Sunday”) but the largest audience among the coveted 25-to-54 set, too.

Collectively, about 9.6 million people watched the three networks each week during the first three months of this year, about the same number that watched Russert in 2005. This doesn’t count the audience for innumerable Sunday-morning competitors, from Fox News Sunday (hosted by former “Meet the Press” moderator Chris Wallace) to “Al Punto” on Univision.  (2015 cable news ratings here) 

EXACTLY.

Many politicians come to kiss Ramos’s hand (I had to steal that) on “Al Punto”. It is embarrassing to witness, which is why I translated this visit where Rep. Diaz-Balart is justifying our party’s actions to Ramos, revealing John Boehner’s intentions on amnesty. It is cordial but contentious as always (it gets old but he is tireless). He grills the Republican, slaps him around, throws in a racist accusation or two and dangles the 11 million-potential-voter-carrot they can’t ignore. Gutierrez, of course, does not get the same treatment. The clip is a gem, proving the GOPe does not want to answer to us. If Republicans want to really prove how compassionate they are, they would take a hard look at and explain how they can justify amnesty when our families and children will be hurt by it. Ramos said this about the next election and Republicans:

1) It is now accepted fact that Hispanic voters were integral to delivering Barack Obama’s presidency, and the road to D.C. has been permanently rerouted.

2) An immigration bill—which Ramos called “a prerequisite” for Latinos to even consider voting Republican—passed the Democratic Senate, but there is close to no hope in the Republican-­controlled House, at least at present. “They don’t get it,” he says. Ramos’s theory is that the Republican nominee in 2016 will simply say of the do-nothing Congress, “They were wrong,” and then offer an immigration proposal of his own. May 5, 2014 New York Magazine.

What do we call it.. a threat? blackmail? ultimatum? shakedown or all of the above? There are so many appearances to choose from, but in every interview, Ramos must come across as the one who cares more than our side which is less passionate and caring about the plight of illegals. If you disagree with any of the points he makes, you have to defend not being anti-immigrant or anti-Hispanic. Marco Rubio’s views are far from being anti-immigrant. (We hate them!) He has made it clear that immigration reform is inevitable, that he is against deportations and will not disrupt DACA (only legislation that is okay before securing the border according to Conant his adviser) but that’s not enough for the true extremists. Cruz is for a bipartisan solution to Immigration reform, which leaves me feeling a little queasy. Does he mean DC-type bipartisanship or a unanimous decision and consensus where D’s and R’s are representing the American people. In any case it is all futile effort because Ramos doesn’t care about them, the law or the fact that the GOPe is shortchanging us on immigration. He does extract their true colors, though, in the process.

Dear Jorge (hor-hey),

Rubio is for Amnesty, DACA and Dreamers!

We hate that as much as you resent it. Why don’t you support  him?

Bilingual and legal

Ingraham knows why they flock to Ramos: to try to make inroads into the Hispanic vote, but asks what the difference between him and Graham is. [Why don’t you ask Jorge, Laura?!]

We have two Hispanics running for president because they ran on a strong message which generated grassroots excitement, and which translated into votes. One lied about it, the other a little more trustworthy but it remains to be seen. Satisfaction or dissatisfaction with these presidential hopefuls should have nothing to do with their ethnicity, but character. The truth is, Ramos wishes the hero of this episode in history was a Hispanic Democrat, not a Hispanic Republican, and a Mexican, not a Cuban-American. At the end of this clip he pleads with Bill Richardson to run in 2016. Below is an example of this bias. It is short, in Spanish with English subtitles:

GOTCHA!

Ramos reminds Rubio above that millions of “Hispanics” want change (referring to millions of Mexican illegals, of course). Like all advocates for amnesty, (see Linda Vega) ‘undocumented’ is key. Rubio’s reply reflects what many in the community I live in believe: that immigration is a touchy, sensitive matter, a humanitarian, not political issue. (The same is probably true in other states where you don’t want to offend people you already know.) No matter what he says, though, he will be the bad guy. Univision will never cover Benghazi, Obama’s scandals or news that is not relevant to “Hispanics” (one particular sector..) Its bias (subtle or not) affects millions of bilinguals (55% prefer Noticiero Unvision to our new show), and what happens at home here and with neighbors is microcosmic of what happened before fair and balanced came around, or social media now. There are no competitors to challenge or enlighten viewers on other points of view. Certainly politicians can’t do so in just one sitting.

Rubio’s answer was cut off in the sub-titled clip, so I’m providing what was said in the full interview in Spanish to illustrate Ramos’s disdain for Rubio:

• 1 Family is not off the table. When Rubio was 16 his brother-in-law was sentenced to 25 years for drug trafficking (He was released in 2000 for good behavior). Rubio explains in his book American Son that it was a very difficult time for the family and scolds Ramos and Univision for making it the story front and center on the news when it had nothing to with him. It was just to smear Rubio. Ramos (playing dumb) insisted if he was going to run as VP in 2012 this information should be known. Rubio says they could have called him, not his sister, and that it was public record anyway; he called it a black eye for the network, but Ramos doesn’t stop there. He asks Rubio if he got money from his brother-in-law or was influenced in any way by him during his campaign. In no way, Rubio replied.
• 2 Ramos objects to ENGLISH as the official language of this country. If you speak it at home, he says, why should it be official? He says millions of voters could be affected by the police stopping or discriminating against anyone with an accent in Spanish. There are other negative consequences, he says, like being fired from jobs for speaking Spanish. It is discriminatory. Rubio: No one gets stopped for having an accent. In Florida English is the official language. It doesn’t stop you from speaking Spanish at home.
• 3 You’re Anti-Immigrant for not agreeing with me 100%. Ramos points to books on Rubio’s bookcase: He says Bush, Reagan, even McCain, a presidential candidate, were all for the legalization of illegals. Why aren’t you like them? Rubio: I am my own person and I base my views on what is happening in the country today. Ramos: People approach me saying he [Rubio] “does not defend us”. He says they want to see Rubio come out and defend them, the undocumented. Rubio: That’s not true. I defend.. Ramos: You could be president one day and change that. Rubio: Unfortunately, a lot of people make promises knowing they cannot keep. I say what I see can be done. Ramos: President Obama’s campaign manager told Univision it would be an insult to the Hispanic immigrant community if you [Republicans] had won the election in 2012 because your position is anti-Hispanic. Mitt Romney, for example, was for self-deportation. Rubio: Self-deportation means they made a decision to go back as a consequence of things getting difficult in Obama’s economy. I don’t know of anyone having positions that are ant-immigrant or anti-Hispanic. RAMOS: The perception is, you could be. RUBIO: Many on the left would say that. RAMOS: You could be powerful as the first Hispanic President of the U.S. or most powerful Hispanic, but your positions are 1) You are for the Arizona Law which persecutes immigrants, 2) you are against the Dream Act, and 3) you want English to be the official language. RUBIO: 1) The Arizona law is not meant for the entire nation but I support it because states have rights which I respect. 2) I do want to help the undocumented kids here and 3) English should be the official language like it is in Florida. 

If you think I’m defending Rubio you’ve missed the point of this entire article.

Rubio has deserved all he got because of 2013. Like millions, I was angry he betrayed good Tea Party conservatives who voted for him thinking he was in their corner. He should have known better than to mess with immigration extremists, too. If there was any lesson to be learned, it is to speak clearly. I will never forget or condone his actions; however, SarahPac has urged us to support Cruz, Paul and Rubio from attacks from the left.  She is right. And Ramos and Univision are part of those attacks.

RAMOS CALLS TED CRUZ AND HIS DAD DREAMERS

First, if Ramos had a one-year certificate to be in the United States because of Mexican censorship. His permit to work here must have had an expiration date. I don’t really care at this point if he overstayed a visa or not. Let’s assume he did every legally. It just makes me wonder why someone would be so adamantly AGAINST immigration law enforcement if he wasn’t illegal himself.

As a Cuban-American, I can say Ramos and those who lead “the” march to illegality resent our legality. He can’t help it. Ramos points out to Rubio that his grandfather and to Ted Cruz that his father were just like dreamers, simply asking for documentation. In Rubio’s case, it could not be compared because there was no law that existed that his grandfather was breaking in the first place. And Ted Cruz fends off the attack by explicitly saying his father was legal. Ramos ignores both explanations.

Even though he grilled Obama a while ago for not keeping his promise, Ramos says in this interview with pinhead OReilly: that Obama “evolved” on the legality of immigration action. Puleez. Obama said repeatedly he didn’t have the legal power to pass it, but Ramos and other activists are joyful that it was, and are emboldened by the move. They are trying not to sound ungrateful, but can’t hold back as this is just the start. They want all illegals here from every country amnestied, not just theirs. It will never end. By the way, Ramos says in English at the 3:33 (it’s such a bad habit!) that he is an immigrant.

I am being long-winded about this, but I am passionate about the subject. I recommend the tape below which illustrates what arguments we can use against amnesty. It is not by a politician but an anti-amnesty activist with no strings attached. He reminds me of Heather MacDonald: polite, smart and reasonable.In English:

So why should we care about what Ramos thinks? Most Americans are against it! Because…

Ramos may turn out to be one of the most influential journalists going into the 2016 presidential election.

That is scary. And I’m Hispanic! With much less on his resume he moderated at least three presidential debates. I’m happy to report, though, that “sour grapes” Ramos and his network have pounced on the fact that Univision was excluded from the Republican presidential debates. FYI, Democratic pollster Fernand Amandi said:

“The GOP needs Univision more than Univision needs the GOP,”

“For a party looking to be competitive nationally again, they can’t risk alienating the premier outlet that caters to the fastest-growing part of the electorate.”

Univision spokesperson Jose Zamora said,

“There is a very simple political reality—Hispanics will decide the 2016 Presidential election. No one can match Univision’s reach and ability to inform, provide access and empower Hispanic America. Anyone who wants to reach and engage Hispanics will have to do it through Univision..

Univision lead anchor Jorge Ramos said that both parties:

“have to make sure that their debates don’t look like the 2015 Oscar nominations,” referring to the lack of diversity among the Academy’s nominees.

THE DEBATES

RNC’s schedule is not much more encouraging as none of the anchors representing the networks are RAMOS in the reverse.

Our news outlets are at fault for not doing their job where amnesty is concerned. Millions complain about it, but none in power have had the will, drive or support to do anything about it consistently. Sarah Palin called for impeachment last year, but it fell on deaf ears across DC.  It would be great if we had a powerful news anchor 24/7 defending America’s sovereignty like our nemesis on Univision does to violate it. What a dream to hear candidates answer to us accepting five non-negotiable’s in this war against amnesty:

• Yes, English is our official language.
• A pathway to citizenship really means amnesty.
• I will not support Obama’s executive actions, DACA or DAPA.
• Illegals are not ‘undocumented’ and dreamers are not the same as legal immigrants seeking documentation.
• We will spend time debating deportation for lawbreakers for not just criminals, instead of how to make citizenship happen.
• Americans have the right to secure their border first, and not be accused of being anti-immigrant or anti-Hispanic because of it.
• Democrats are better at this, so we have to fight together to beat them on this and appeal to legal citizens and American voters affected by it.

Ingraham’s stance on amnesty has been effective in some races. She could be a good anchor, but her negatives would be she is unreliable politically: 1) she said she wasn’t going to get into presidential politics only state and local, but within 24 hours she was commenting on the national race, and 2) she is too quick and eager to back establishment candidates when push comes to shove. Chris McDaniel could be thrown into the mix just to spook the Rinos. Stuart Varney also came to mind (but I’m not sure what his stance on immigration is). We should start thinking about this and demand that the RNC providing moderators who will ask and demand clear answers, putting Priebus, our quasi-conservative media and any GOPe on notice that anyone who is for amnesty but wants to appear as they are not must take a hike!

Sarah Palin electrified millions when she dismissed Washington reporters as elitists in her VP acceptance speech, something we had never heard anyone say in politics. It was just one of the many moments that were part of that electrifying night. Who can forget those 25 seconds (:45 – 1:11)? (Schieffer’s reaction was priceless):

One month later Palin made the point to talk directly to the American without the filter of the media. We loved it. And still do!

Eight years later she is still talking to not at us, like the nation’s CEO, almost daily on her own online channel. Just today she addressed illegal immigration (again):

My advice to candidates:

TALK TO US DIRECTLY!

We cannot have a flippant attitude about immigration. It has to be done with a sense of urgency which the above presidential hopeful has. We cannot accept candidates wanting or trying to be the Candy Man to pushy Dreamers and/or innocent children who’ve been brainwashed from day one that it’s okay to break the law. Laws are our contract between government and its people and in their quest for power,

our lawmakers have become lawbreakers in helping push this agenda.

Ramos may be one of the Most Influential Latino Leaders in the world, but he is helping millions break our laws. You will get no apology from me for being for deportations, defending English as our official language, or militarizing the border. He says he never mentions his views on the evening news but Ramos gives his opinion everywhere else. When he asks if Mexicans would vote for a candidate just because they spoke Spanish, it is a legitimate question. If we had a black Republican candidate, would blacks turn out the vote for him? Not necessarily. In that regard Rubio and Cruz are wise not to run as Hispanics but on message, and that is what we vet them on, but I’m still calling Ramos out on his arrogance, racism and b.s. (making such a fuss over ethnicity) and sending this clear note to our own:

Dear Republican candidates,

We are the ones you should worry about. If you pander for illegal votes, you will lose our trust and our vote.

Your Constituents

No matter what intentions you as Republicans may have, or what your plans to reform immigration are, the majority of Latinos and/or Hispanics (camouflage for Mexican) do not and never really will sympathize with Republicans (like Ramos suggests).  So why waste time on the 11 million illegal ‘birds in the bush’, when we have about 40 million legals in the hand willing to sacrifice for and abide by this country’s laws. We should be attracting Hispanics for the right reasons, not background.

The left knows no bounds on personal attacks, respect for laws or life, so it is up to us to continue pushing backing and to build an apparatus that will challenge the invasion (yes, it is an invasion and no, we’re not racists for saying so.) Tenacity and drive are key. We can start by reacting with caution to stories coming from this Spanish media because it is just like our liberal media.  We have to act like Team R (relentless) vs. Team D (derelicts), regardless of party affiliation. For our sovereignty.

It remains to be seen whether Republicans will win in 2016 by courting the illegal vote. It did not help Reagan (or Americans) for him to pass amnesty in the long run. Democrats ended up not securing the border like they had promised in exchange for the 3 million amnestied. That’s what you get when you deal with Democrats.

Is Rubio a racist? No.

Is he godless? No.

Has he always wanted to pass immigration reform? Yes.

Is it a screwed up political agenda? Yes.

Is Jorge Ramos all of the above? Yes.

But immigration reform is no inevitable. We just have to fight relentlessly against it. Ramos is not just a journalist and he is not just a liberal. He represents the sleeping giant that is the future of American politics. That future is NOW.

And the power is OURS to relinquish.

Rubio (If President): DACA Would End at Some Point, Immigration Reform Pass, Millions Would Not Be Deported

Whew! The beginning of this interview caused quite a stir this weekend. It sounds like a slight error but knowing Univision and its history with Rubio (see next article), it was right to have it clarified. Rubio was reported to have said that the president’s DACA was important, but the translation used from media service Grabien in the original Breitbart News article read: “I believe DACA is important. It can’t be terminated from one moment to the next, because there are already people benefiting from it.” The source that came forward from Rubio’s camp said even Univision’s translation was a little imprecise, and that Rubio’s word-for-word translation should have been “But DACA, I think it’s important not to cancel it from one moment to the next because you already have people benefiting from it.” The transcript below is the one from Univision which I corrected in bold. The tape with imprecise subtitles is on their site.

JR: Senator Marco Rubio, thank you for speaking with us.

 

SMR: Thank you very much, Jorge.

 

JR: Senator, in your book you talk about how excited you were by Barack Obama’s campaign. Nonetheless, Barack Obama did not run as an African-American candidate. You have decided not to run as a Hispanic candidate. Why?

 

SMR:

Well, obviously I’m Hispanic. My heritage, that of my parents, both of them were from Cuba, and obviously, I was raised in a Hispanic community. I think that my message and our policies are policies that apply to every American. There’s no doubt that the Hispanic community is a community of hardworking people, people who are seeking to improve their lives. I do think that our message has a special impact on that community because many of them identify with that story. But I obviously think that it’s a message that applies to everyone and that a president has to work for everyone.

 

JR: As you know, it has always been hard for Republicans to get the Hispanic vote. I wanted to talk with you about very concrete issues that affect Hispanics directly. I would like to start with the issue of deferred action and DACA. If you made it to the White House, would you keep the DACA program; that is, Deferred Action for the Dreamers, and would you keep President Barack Obama’s executive action, which would benefit more than four million undocumented people?

 

SMR:

Well, DACA is going to have to end at some point. I wouldn’t undo it immediately. The reason is that there are already people who have that permission, who are working, who are studying, and I don’t think it would be fair to cancel it suddenly.

But I do think it is going to have to end. And, God willing, it’s going to end because immigration reform is going to pass. DAPA hasn’t yet taken effect, and I think it has impeded progress on immigration, on immigration reform. And since that program hasn’t taken effect yet, I would cancel it. 

But DACA, I think it is important; it can’t be cancelled suddenly because there are already people who are benefiting from it. [This should read:  “But DACA, I think it’s important not to cancel it from one moment to the next because you already have people benefiting from it.”;

But it is going to have to end. It cannot be the permanent policy of the United States. And I don’t think that’s what they’re asking for, either. I think that everyone prefers immigration reform. 

 

JR: But then, to clarify, you would end DACA once immigration reform is approved. But what happens, Senator, if there is no immigration reform? Would you cancel DACA anyway?

 

SMR:

At some point it’s going to have to end. That is, it cannot continue to be the permanent policy of the United States. I do think that if I wind up being president, it will be possible to achieve new immigration reform. It won’t be possible for it to be comprehensive; that is, they are not going to be able to do everything in one massive bill. We already tried that a couple of years ago. We have seen that the political support isn’t there, and I think we’ve spent a lot of time on this process when we could have started moving forward through the three steps that I advocated. Unfortunately, a lot of time has been wasted on that. It has become an even more controversial issue; harder to move forward on that issue. But I still say that it’s important to modernize our system, and that means improving the way we enforce it in the future, to modernize the immigration system so that it’s not so costly and bureaucratic. And we have to deal with 12 million human beings who are already here. And nobody, nobody is advocating a plan to deport12 million human beings. So that issue has to be dealt with, as well.

 

JR: When you announced your candidacy, outside of the building where you announced it, there were a lot of Dreamers, protesting. And then there are some immigrant organizations that have criticized your candidacy. America’s Voice says that you have anti-immigrant positions. I would like to ask you, you were in favor of an immigration reform bill in the Senate, and you voted for it. But today, would you vote in favor of a path to legalization for 11 million undocumented people?

 

SMR:

Well, that can’t be done today for the following reason. I don’t think we can. I have been very clear. I, through that two-year experience, it’s very clear to me. We’re not going to have the votes or the necessary political support in Congress. Today, in some sectors of the American public, in order to move forward on this issue, unless we first prove to the American people that in the future there’s not going to be another

immigration crisis. If we do that, I think that undoubtedly the political support is going to exist to do legalization as you have said. It has to be a process similar to what we advocated in the legislation that I sponsored, and it’s the law that says that, first, the things we’re all familiar with must be present: a background check, pay a fine, begin to pay taxes, get a work permit, and after 10 years, they can apply for their residency. That would be the process, but we can’t get to that point. Politically, the support and the votes in Congress aren’t there until we prove to those members of Congress and the American people that immigration laws are going to be enforced.

 

JR:

Senator, I want to ask you about Cuba. I know it’s an issue close to your heart, since both your parents are Cuban immigrants. Nonetheless, the majority of Cuban-Americans agree with ending the embargo, and they also agree, according to the polls,with this new approach of President Barack Obama to Cuba. If you reached the White House and were president, would you cut relations with Cuba? And what do you think about President Barack Obama’s calling Raúl Castro “president”?

 

SMR:

Well, he isn’t a president. He can call himself whatever he likes, but RaúlCastro hasn’t been elected to absolutely anything. He is tyrant and a dictator. In terms of relations with Cuba, right? I would like to have relations with a free, democratic Cuba, or a country that’s making progress toward that. And that doesn’t exist. The Cuban people are the only people in Latin America who haven’t had free elections in more than 50 years. I think that is unfair, and I think the Cuban people deserve that. In my opinion, I say that it’s still a government that supports terrorism. Just today we’ve seen, this week we’ve seen the news that the FARC have again kidnapped and killed 10 people in Colombia. That is a group that receives help and support and shelter from the Cuban government.

 

JR:

Would you cut relations with Cuba? If you reach the White House, you’ll cut relations?

 

SMR:

Unless it’s a democratic country or it starts taking concrete steps toward democracy, of course.

 

JR: Senator, you are the youngest candidate among those who have run or will run, 43 years old. But  —

 

SMR: 44 next month, Jorge.

 

JR: 44 next month. However, you have certain positions; for example, you’re against same-sex marriage, which is not what most young people believe in, according to the polls. Are you afraid of being portrayed in the media as an old young man, as some people in Latin America say?

 

SMR:

Well, I don’t believe that’s true. A significant percentage of Americans support my position on marriage between a woman and a man. I understand that there are discrepancies and a change of attitude, and I believe that if people want to change the laws about marriage in a democracy, in a republic, they can do so through their state legislatures. The states have always regulated marriage and can continue to do so. I believe that if the attitude in the country has changed, well, there is a democratic process through which they can make that change. What I don’t support is for the courts to determine this issue because I don’t think it’s up to the courts. I think it’s up to the political branch of each state to decide how it wants to regulate and how to define marriage laws.

 

JR:

And I’ll finish with a more personal question, Senator. We have had first ladies with very defined personalities: Michelle Obama, for example, or Hillary Clinton.Your wife Jeanette is Colombian-American. What would Jeanette be like as a first lady?

 

SMR: I think she would be excellent. She has a heart for issues, for example, the trafficking of human beings, which is a crisis today throughout the world. A person who is also interested in children’s issues and education. And also a person who, to me, is a great mother, a great wife, which is also important, right? Because having stability in the family is critical for being able to do the job well as a team. I would also consider her partof that team. But I believe that the country is going to love Jeanette when it gets to know her better.

 

JR: And that image that came out of you with your four children, to many,even if they were from the other political party, it reminded them of President John F.Kennedy.

 

SMR: Well, a figure from different times, undoubtedly. Former President Kennedy had a beautiful family as well. It’s more than an honor to know his daughter, who is now the ambassador to Japan. But, again, I believe it is important, that people want to know where you came from, what your family is like. And as we say, “My children are Colom-ban,” which is a combination of Colombian and Cuban, a very good

combination.

 

JR: Senator, thanks for speaking with us and I hope we can continue this conversation throughout the campaign. Thank you.

The Cuban-American Dream IS the American Dream and GOP Corrupted It

Before and After: How our cause for freedom has been corrupted.

The Cuban-American Dream is the American dream and it has been corrupted by the GOPe. This clip connects a brief account of my family’s experience in exile and that of many families like us in the United States, with the push for a corrupt and politically motivated agenda: Amnesty. There is an important historical lesson that should alarm anyone who cares about the direction this country is headed because of the Republican party’s corruption. Obama wants to legalize illegals, but the GOPe is collaborating with communist amnesty activists and agitators. [Last summer Ros-Lehtinen and other members of the GOP earned La Raza’s praise for voting against a border bill that would have denied Obama the right to use federal funds to implement temporary amnesty.] I was asked to amplify on the last segment which I hope you enjoy.

I Confronted Marco Rubio on Amnesty!

I did it. I told Marco Rubio to his face what I thought of his push for amnesty and I have decided I will still be a hyphenated-American. Here’s why:

We fled Cuba for this?

I am a Cuban-American whose family fled Cuba because of Communism. My representatives in Florida are helping pass Obama’s Executive Amnesty which is a communist agenda.  Even though it was a rather exciting opportunity to meet my Senator, it was not fun given the circumstances I made a point to meet him under. He is supposed to represent us as Americans (and has a higher calling because of the cause of freedom for Cuba which is what our patriotism has been about for decades). As long as there is communism in Cuba, and as long as there is a dictatorship, there is still a fight against both, and not a push for an agenda, which he has the nerve to call an American Dream, that helps the left, our enemy.

This country is worth fighting for. We are a nation of laws under God, and with a constitution that protects its citizens. Those who push amnesty are lawbreakers. I have a short way of saying it: No borders. No country. We lost Cuba. And now you’re saying that this country is to be run the way the communists would like? I don’t think so. Marco Rubio is a Dreamer, not an Anti-Communist.  This was my brief exchange with him at the American Dreams Book Signing in Miami:

Fully Fund Obama’s Executive Amnesty, Vote Date 2/27/2015, Vote Description

While considering HR 240, the FY 2015 Department of Homeland Security funding bill, in the Senate, newly elected Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) worked with Democrats and liberal Republicans to re-instate funding for Obama’s executive amnesty. Despite promises from Senate Republicans during the 2014 midterm campaign to stand up to President Obama, HR 240 would fully fund Obama’s fall 2014 unconstitutional executive amnesty. This vote is on final passage of HR 240 and is the last opportunity for Republican’s to stop funding for full implementation of President Obama’s illegal executive amnesty for the remainder of the year. -Senate vote Conservative Review – s62-114.2015

He’s Baaack.. Senator Rubio: Obama Is An Intolerant and Hypocritical Bigot!

Well, he didn’t say them in exactly that order, but he did frame his argument in such a way that you can put them all in one sentence taken from this context:

Citing a “growing intolerance” against opponents of same-sex marriage, Sen. Marco Rubio argued that those who advocate same-sex marriage need to be more respectful of those who oppose it.

“Supporting the definition of marriage as one man and one woman is not anti-gay. It’s pro-traditional marriage,” the Florida Republican said in a speech at Catholic University. “And if support for traditional marriage is bigotry, then Barack Obama was a bigot until just before the 2012 election.”

The senator, who was giving a speech on family values and morality, indicated he was clearly aware that people don’t accept his views.

“I promise you, before this speech is even over, I’ll be attacked as a hater, a bigot, someone who’s anti-gay,” he said. “This intolerance in the name of tolerance is hypocrisy.”  CNN’s Ashley Killough reported

He’s right about it all. He also asserted that states should have the right to restrict marriage to heterosexual couples, and denounced judges who have ruled against state laws defining marriage. Right again. But why now? Why this? What for? Is he attempting to ingratiate himself with voters? His views depart from the GOPe’s which we saw in the last article, and that is a good thing, but will anyone care after his betrayal last year? And was taking the fall for Jeb worth it?

This was signature Rubio though: tying two stances on separate issues into one ‘coherent’ argument. Last year he attempted (misguidedly) to tie the rationale for defunding ObamaCare with his support for Immigration Reform. No need for the details, it just made no sense. He justified his support for both by linking each to (his version of) the American Dream. In this case, he calls for morality and values and links them with potential economic prosperity, in that order.

“In America, if you get an education, find a good job, and wait until marriage to have children, your chances of achieving economic security and professional fulfillment are incredibly high. In fact, if everyone in America lived lives that went in this order, in the order I’ve just outlined, some estimates are that the poverty rate would be cut by an estimated 70 percent.”

You can’t say he isn’t clever either.  He is. And he will do what he has to to survive.  But sincere?  Meh..  The world sees him one way, we political junkies know the truth. I am not being facetious, nor am I judging him because I choose to believe that he defends these things. My cynicism does however makes me wonder how much time and money were spent on consultants to came up with this reinvented strategy.  Many, I bet!  If he just stuck to core issues of our party and simple truths that are ageless, he would not go wrong.  But Rubio has a special bullsh*t chromosome and that’s his problem. No one can have faith in what he says because he will fudge whatever he has to fudge to be politically expedient. He doesn’t think long-term.  Even though this was a pretty graceful attempt at a comeback, he still doesn’t get the big picture and I don’t feel sorry for him.  His appeal is to the issues of the group covered in the last article. Rubio on abortion:

Rubio said abortion is a difficult issue because it involves two competing rights — women’s rights to make choices about their bodies versus the rights of the unborn to live.

“In weighing these two options, I know where I stand: An unborn child should be welcomed into life and protected in law,” he said. “It seems to me a decent, humane society will take tangible steps to help women with unwanted pregnancies even as that society defends an unborn child’s right to live.”

Whatever this re-invention cost, it was pretty crafty.  I’ll just end the tirade on that note and let the RELIGIOUS BASE decide whether they believe him or not. Please check this Article link for the full post on his speech. (It’s pretty good.)

2014 LINCOLN DAY DINNER – KEYNOTE – SENATOR TED CRUZ

It was reported that Marco Rubio had turned down the opportunity to deliver the keynote speech at Friday night’s event. He instead made a taped appearance at the beginning, while Ted won over the 500-plus Republicans he left behind. Cruz’s speech focused on criticizing Obama, which he framed as follows:

How we can turn this nation around:

1. Champion Growth and Opportunity

2. Defend the Constitution

3. Restore America’s Leadership

Highlights from the speech:

• He criticized NSA spying, asked all to turn their phones on to make sure Obama listened to every word he said.
• He called his foreign policy “feckless and naïve.”
• “Like many people in this room, my dad was born in Cuba, in Matanzas, and like many people in this room, he experienced oppression in Cuba. He was thrown in prison in tortured by Batista. And his sister was thrown in prison and tortured by Castro.”
• Cruz asked “everyone in this room who is an immigrant or the child of an immigrant, please stand up,” nearly everyone (500 plus attendees) did.
• Miami-Dade is the only major urban county in the country where a majority of the GOP, 72 percent, is Hispanic, nearly all Cuban.
• He was introduced and came on stage with “The Yellow Rose of Texas” playing.
• He boasted about the San Antonio spurs NBA win over the Miami Heat, earning a few good-natured boos.

Ted Cruz gave a shout out to Rubio but did not mention him by name when talking about “amnesty” which provides a pathway to citizenship for many of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the United States. He said:

“Amnesty — No. 1 — is profoundly unfair to the millions of legal immigrants to the millions of men and women and children who waited in line years, sometimes decades. But — No. 2 — Amnesty inevitably encourages more illegal immigration.” Cruz laid the blame for the failure of comprehensive immigration reform at the feet of Democrats, whom he accused of having an all-or-nothing approach to the issue because they insist on a path to citizenship. Governor Rick Scott, who recently passed giving illegals instate tuition, was not present.

Cruz is not perfect but he seems like a reasonable enough person who would #listen to what if anything we had to say about either amnesty or any other issue. It seems he has listened. As far as I know (I would be the first to share it if it was so) US Chamber of Commerce has not approached him like it has others. He may or may not be tied (still) in some ways to the Bushes. Being from Texas I wouldn’t be surprised; however, we must always be aware of what is going on.

To run for president obviously one needs money. Without it there is no way to win (unless you’re in Virginia running against Eric Cantor).  But money is one thing and corruption is another.  We shall wait to see what happens.  There is still plenty of time to vet the potential 2016 candidates. I can say for certain that anyone who dismisses the excitement Ted generated on FRIDAY night or who walked away feeling pessimistic or anxious about the future if they were there is just not paying attention. The last post has ruffled some feathers already.

Here is a picture of supporters who were outside the Hilton just to greet Ted Cruz with a big welcome. They got a thank-you invite to attend the event. Not bad considering each seat was $100.

EPIC Compilation of Headlines 2013 With Updates by Izzlovesfox1

What a difference a year makes! I hardly talk about Marco Rubio anymore. That’s because he had a really bad year last year and Sarah made an example of him after being caught in a lie where he told a Spanish-speaking audience legalization first, then secure the border.  That summer he voted for the Senate’s Bill S.744 and lost support among all the Conservatives I know. He also lost friends locally, which takes a lot, given their enthusiasm for him when he first won the Senate. 

The picture of JayZ and his wife, Beyonce, who ended up going to Cuba in April last year, staying in a hotel overlooking the picturesque Havana harbor must have been embarrassing because he had quoted JayZ as a poet during Rand Paul’s filibuster, “It was all good a week ago.  What a difference seven days makes.”

JayZ’s trip was offensive – a horrible and painful reminder of the tyranny and slavery on the island that Cubans still seek to escape from.  He and Beyonce visited areas off-limits to most Cubans living on the island. They ignored reality and are hypocrites for justifying their visa to be at a cultural seminar with students of music.

It showed a lack of respect and just plain ignorance – no conscience for those living under conditions that will not change any time soon.  Anyone who says that easing the embargo will help Cuba just does not understand what is going on.

Beyonce also offended Cuban-Americans just prior to this trip after being photographed with a Castro youth group dedicated to revolution like Che Guevara. What to expect from someone who got paid $1 million to dance for Libyan Dictator Khaddafi (now dead). Even ignorance does not cut as deep as indifference to others’ suffering.

So, getting back to #ThrowbackThursday. This post was fun to put together. It took a long time to make a compilation of the TOP TEN izzlovesfox1 clips. I followed-up on each headline to keep telling the story to refresh the page on my (our collective) political journey, because…

Are voters more aware that their party is against them? That was my stated goal last year; unfortunately, it is hard to convey to some who do not care to see THE TRUTH about the politicians they cheer on.

Rand Paul made huge headlines 2013, but they were all for his personal enrichment and campaign. Rand Paul may be a fighter, but he’s fighting for the wrong things. His attempt to make this party One Big Happy Family should be enough to make anyone nervous. He invited Chris Christie to a beer summit, his manager signed on with American Crossroads last year (while he was filibustering to protect the rights of Americans from drone attacks, which he reversed his position on 30 days later) and he has repeatedly insisted the party has to “evolve and adapt” if it is to survive. Some of his remarks border on veiled criticism of and disingenuous support of the Conservative base.

Rand Paul is on a path to political suicide like Rubio was last year if continues on this path of a softening our party (Charmin anyone?) and taking the Tea Party for granted. Why is he making a mistake? Because he hasn’t sold Conservatism to those he has been pandering to. He has been sloppy on policies to (try) to gain votes from all sides.

Rand Paul has asked Ted Nugent to apologize to the President, criticized Ted Cruz for distorting Reagan’s foreign policy, endorsed Mitch McConnell, the list goes on. I’ve heard from people who were at CPAC that his presence on stage is nothing like Sarah’s. He is not electric at all. He doesn’t stand tall (his “presence” on stage and physically). He is a not-so-exciting speaker who doesn’t show command as much as delivery of platitudes we hear all the time. He does not have the star power like so many try to portray him as having. Add to that he doesn’t keep his stance on any issue consistently and you’ve got a garden-variety politician, a RINO insider. His talk is all Bush Mush lately.

Ryan, bless his heart Sarah says.. Is making the news for things he should have never done in 2009 when he was FOR Tarp when his budget plans were still a joke. What I remember most was his palling around with a known terrorist advocate and communist agitator, Luis V. Gutierrez. Ryan is clearly out of touch. That’s evident in his so-called outreach out to communities he would love to pander to. He has been a RINO and is next-in-line to Boehner.

It’s easy to see Jeb as being obscure as always, not outshining anyone except for saying stupid things. Even though Hispanics give birth to more children, he said “Hispanics are more fertile”. He also said Ted Cruz does not have solutions. (Well.. that’s because it’s UP to PEOPLE not POLITICIANS, Jeb, to come up with them!) Jeb’s sense of relevance is distorted. He also said breaking the laws to provide for one’s family as an illegal alien is an act of love.

Like a shadow or black cloud in our party we can’t get rid of, he’s either lurking in the background pushing others to do his dirty work for him. He announces he does not get his name in polls to sound like he doesn’t want to be president, but in reality it’s because the results of those polls are so negative he wouldn’t want them public). He can only have a glowing story about him probably by someone who has been paid directly or indirectly to do so. The fact is he IS going to fundraisers with billionaires like Shelon Adelson and it is to launch a non-campaign campaign. His father built the GOP machine as we know it, so he feels he’s entitled to being the next Bush presidential nominee.

Jeb does not make sense when he talks, which is why McCain probably said he is the smartest man he knows. Really. Saying stupid things or stupid comments are the only thing he is good at. Remember he said he would govern like Lyndon B. Johnson (that was last year before CPAC) if he had the chance.  He is a royal pain in our side.

My message: RUN, JEB, RUN!  Bring it. Get it out of your system. Immigration Reform is a huge fail. It was in 1986. Nothing’s changed.  Keep talking. To those who think their DUTY to support you: You’re just like lying dogs.

Let’s see what the GOP gaffes are in store for us this year. I thought Thad Cochran’s comment about not knowing what the Tea Party was about was a real humdinger, but typical  GOPe will always manage to find new ways to dig their grave a little deeper each time. Reince Priebus did so when he didn’t mention Sarah …wait. That was this year.

The Communist Party USA Has Infiltrated the GOP. I knew it!

No, Marco Rubio is not a Communist. But he may as well be.  Did you know Immigration Reform is part of long-standing agenda of the Communist Party USA, and that the Gang of Eight Bill was conceived and written by its members? Not only that, the bill that is being drafted for the House is also being co-written by a former Marxist-Leninist from Puerto Rico who we call a far-left Democrat, and others we call “Progressives”. I knew we had infiltrators in the GOP and wanted names, but I didn’t think the powerful forces behind it were this entrenched. How stupid are the Republicans for making bills with Communists? They should have known better than to legislate with Communists! And then make us feel like we’re obstacles in their way. Shameful!

Despite my lack of faith in Congress and the Senate to do what is right (I don’t expect much from them based on past performance), the reality of this is disheartening!  How are we supposed to compete in the arena of ideas and arguments against Amnesty if experienced Alinsky-ites are pushing it through. Like I said, I expected infiltration from Islamist groups and LaRaza. (May 2013): “Apparently the senators wanted to make sure that leftist and Islamist advocacy organizations (CASA, La Raza, MALDEF, and CAIR and other Islamist groups) would not simply be grant recipients themselves, but would also be entrenched on the “New Immigrant Councils” that will help guide strategy, funding, and implementation at the local level. One could guess why the four Democrats on the Gang of Eight wanted leftist and Islamist organizations with such “legal and advocacy” experience in behalf of immigrants placed on the new immigrant councils, but why did the four Republicans agree to it?” But if this is so pre-set, what can we do?

He is not alone, but let’s face it, Marco Rubio IS the poster child for this fiasco of a bill!  I am so disgusted and disappointed at him that I will let the facts speak for themselves and hope for a massive outcry by voters to defy and decry what is going on.  It is probably the tip of the iceberg.  We need to know more. We need to know where all of the money is coming from, who else is behind this bill.  We must expose our Senators who talk the way they do, and betray the Rule of Law they way they do because they broke bread with Commies.  Going against the will of the American people is not acceptable! I propose we share this with everyone we know, our Senators, our Representatives and all of our friends, and demand answers, to stop it. But how? What else can be done? Unfortunately, I do not believe writing letters is going to change the course this bill is on. We are on the defensive again at the last minute. Our leaders have really let us down.

The House GOP Caucus is meeting tomorrow. Labrador was cited as saying they don’t have a “Marco Rubio” to help the house to work the bill. The caucus will have a close door meeting, Leadership John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy, Trey Gowdy-Sub committee on Immigration, and Bob Goodlatte, Judiciary Chairman (of the Benghazi Hearings), will speak. After that any Congressman can voice his/her opinion on S 744 or any bills passed through committee. I predict Boehner will, as he usually does, pretend to be on our side at first, then have a bill signed similar to the one in the Senate to present to Obama. He will help make amnesty the law of the land.  House Speaker John Boehner, has enlisted former Republican VP candidate Paul Ryan to promote the House  plan. He is working with Luis Gutierrez, former Marxist-Leninist Puerto Rican Socialist Party member, and Xavier Becerra -both members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and longtime amnesty activists.  Below are quotes from the article by James Simpson:

The U.S. Senate’s “Gang of Eight” immigration-reform plan, as well as a  strikingly similar plan now being backed by Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., and a bi-partisan House “Gang,” both offer the “roadmap to citizenship” originally conceived and carefully developed by members of the Communist Party USA working  within the Democratic Party and the radical left activist network for the  purpose of using amnestied illegals to build a “permanent progressive majority.”

Researcher and blogger Trevor Loudon, is about to publish a book titled “The  Enemies Within: Communists, Socialists and Progressives in the U.S. Congress. WND readers got an exclusive sneak preview of one chapter, titled “Latino  Immigrants: Tools to Ensure a ‘Governing Coalition’ for the Left.”

According to Loudon, the Communist Party USA has influenced U.S. policy toward  illegals since at least the 1960s. He traces the history, showing how communists and communist-founded organizations slowly built the movement from the ground  up. While other groups certainly joined the effort, the communists were always at the center. The names of all the commies are in read.

(background)… Bert Corona, the “Communist Father of the ‘Immigrants Rights’ movement.” In  1964, Corona, Cesar Chavez and future Democratic Socialists of America member  Dolores Huerta forced Congress to end the guest worker “Bracero” program.  Corona founded and/or led numerous organizations, such as the Mexican American  Political Association, or MAPA, Centro de Action Social Autonoma, or CASA, and  La Hermandad Mexicana Nacional (the National Mexican Brotherhood), all  influential in the “immigrant rights” movement. The Communist Party still has  strong influence in MAPA, which acts as a king-maker for Democratic Party  candidates in the Los Angeles area.  Antonio Villaraigosa, former Los Angeles mayor and 2012 chairman of the  Democratic National Convention, got his start with CASA. For example, Rep. Judy Chu, D.-Calif., has “a thirty-year history with the now defunct pro-China Communist Workers Party (CWP) and its surviving networks.” Chu is an advocate  for “progressive” immigration reform and was a co-sponsor of the Comprehensive  Immigration Reform bill introduced by Rep. Luis Gutierrez in 2010.  In 2012, Chu  served as co-chair of President Obama’s reelection campaign.

Excerpt continued.. Today’s Communist Party USA cites the current amnesty effort as its top legislative priority. Its official  position is virtually indistinguishable from that of the Democratic  Party:

As Congress begins to draft legislation, immigrant rights groups and the  labor movement including the AFL-CIO and its constituent organizations, SEIU,  Change to Win, and many faith-based groups are mobilizing for comprehensive  immigration reform with legalization, a path to citizenship and workers’ rights  …

This legislative and political battle is also at the top of the agenda of the  Communist Party USA and Young Communist League.  Their program includes stopping deportations now as legislation is being adopted, and calling for legalization  with a clear and speedy road map to citizenship for all 11 million. Future workers who come should have the same opportunity.

Eliseo Medina “is both the country’s most influential ‘immigration  reform’ activist and a Marxist. He is an Honorary Chair of Democratic Socialists  of America”.   Eliseo Medina learned voting strategies from Fred Ross, a Saul Alinsky-trained activist  and the brains behind Cesar Chavez. Eliseo Medina worked hand in hand with UNITE HERE President John Wilhelm, to change  AFL-CIO immigration policy at the 1999 Los Angeles Convention. Then, claiming  U.S. immigration policy is “broken and needs to be fixed,” the AFL-CIO on  February 16, 2000, called for a new amnesty for millions of undocumented workers  and the repeal of the 1986 law that criminalized hiring them … According to the SEIU website, Medina has played the leading role in uniting  Change to Win and AFL-CIO behind the immigration reform movement..

Medina (2009) “We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million  people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters.”

James Simpson lists the following Senators receiving benefits from this bill.  South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham – more visas for the meat  industry, a major employer in his state. Sen. Charles Schumer – special treatment for Irish workers; his state is home to a large population with Irish ancestry. Republican Sen. Marco Rubio – help for the cruise-ship industry, a big  business in his home state of Florida. And Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet of  Colorado – a boost for ski areas.

“Mr. Rubio, from hurricane-prone Florida, inserted an opportunity for foreigners to come to the U.S. for 90 days to work on relief operations after state or federal disasters. Mr. Rubio also gave a nod to the recently embattled cruise industry with a provision allowing certain foreigners to repair cruise ships made abroad, as well as other transportation equipment. Florida drew $6.7 billion in direct spending from the cruise industry in 2011, according to the Cruise Lines International Association. Mr. Rubio and Sen. Jeff Flake who both advocated for the construction industry during negotiations, included a provision, which many in the construction industry had feared dead, allowing foreigners to work in such higher-skilled jobs as electricians, plumbers and welders.” (Sara Murray, “Pet Projects Sprinkled In Immigration Bill,” WSJ, 4/21/13) 

Rubio has denied it was done just for Florida, confirming: “There is a provision Rubio suggested to make it easier for foreign workers to come to the U.S. for 90 days in the case of natural disasters or other emergencies.”

House Speaker John Boehner, has enlisted former Republican VP candidate Paul Ryan to promote the House  plan. Ryan and  the Republicans are working with some far-left House Democrats, including  Rep. Luis Gutierrez, a  former member of the Marxist-Leninist Puerto Rican Socialist Party, and Xavier Becerra, both  members of the Congressional  Progressive Caucus and both longtime amnesty activists.

Representatives Steve King, R-Iowa; Louie Gohmert, R-Texas; Dana Rohrabacher,  R-Calif.; Trey Gowdy, R-S.C.; Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.; and others – 70 House  members in all – as well as senators Ted Cruz, R-Texas; Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.;  Mike Lee, R-Utah and others have sought to highlight the dangers of this  legislation.

By the way, by the time this is passed, the actual number of amnestied illegals is going to be around 20 million, not 11 as cited.

Warpath: After Senate Amnesty Vote Sarah Palin Questions Legitimacy of BOTH Political Parties

In the wake of the treasonous Senate amnesty vote, Governor Sarah Palin has been on the warpath. Like Governor Palin, I support LEGAL immigration fully.

I’m a Texan, man we have people here from everywhere. It’s a great tapestry of life. I doubt you’ll find a more diverse society as you will in Texas. These people not only make Texas great, they make America great. But they came her legally.

A lot has been written about Governor Palin in the past week, including some who are freaking out about Governor Palin’s answer to a question about the possibility of starting a third party. As you can imagine, most Conservatives are open to the idea, but the “good old boys” in the GOP are less than enthused!

Those of us who have followed Governor Palin’s career for many years know, that while she’s always run as a Republican, and supported Republican candidates, she has never had a problem going after corrupt Republicans, nor has she EVER put party over principle. That is the reason why Governor Palin has such a strong and loyal following of supporters. She says what she means, and means what she says. Refreshing, to say the least!

Governor Palin has always been for “border security FIRST, then we’ll talk about what to do with all the illegals.” A reasonable stance.

Remember, while many so-called “name brand” politicians were either hiding, or denouncing Arizona’s law to curb illegals, basically doing the job the Obama regime is refusing to do, Governor Palin flew to Arizona and stood by Governor Jan Brewer’s side as she signed the legislation into law. She also cut a few commercials in support of Arizona’s law.

The treasonous Senate vote was a given, but that didn’t stop Governor Palin from weighing in, starting June 23rd, when she called out Marco Rubio, who ran as an anti-amnesty, rock-ribbed Conservative. Of course, Rubio lied.

Politicians wonder why we can’t trust them? Campaign flip-flops like this and carve-out bribes in the Amnesty Bill for politicians like Begich & Murkowski to exempt AK seafood workers.

If we are to believe candidate Marco Rubio’s comments during an Oct. 24, 2010 debate, it seems the Florida senator’s views on immigration reform have ‘evolved’ quite a bit since taking office.

During a debate with opponents Rep. Kendrick Meek and Gov. Charlie Crist, candidate Rubio argued that giving illegal immigrants an “earned path to citizenship,” which Crist, Sen. John McCain and former President George W. Bush had advocated, is basically amnesty.

“First of all, earned path to citizenship is basically code for amnesty. It’s what they call it,” Rubio said. “And the reality of it is this: This has to do with the bottom line that America cannot be the only country in the world that does not enforce its immigration laws. It is unfair to the people that have legally entered this country to create an alternative pathway for individuals who entered illegally and knowingly did so.”

“If you do that, you will never have a legal immigration system that works,” he continued. “No one is going to follow the law if there is an easier way to do it.“

Holes in the Border As Big As the Holes in Their Amnesty Bill

Just like they did with Obamacare, some in Congress intend to “Pelosi” the amnesty bill. They’ll pass it in order to find out what’s in it. And just like the unpopular, unaffordable Obamacare disaster, this pandering, rewarding-the-rule-breakers, still-no-border-security, special-interests-ridden, 24-lb disaster of a bill is not supported by informed Americans.

I am an ardent supporter of legal immigration. I’m proud that our country is so desirable that it has been a melting pot making a diverse people united as the most exceptional nation on earth for over two centuries. But I join every American with an ounce of common sense insisting that any discussion about immigration must center on a secure border. The amnesty bill before the Senate is completely toothless on border security.

It’s beyond disingenuous for anyone to claim that a vote for this bill is a vote for security. Look no further than the fact that Senator Rubio and amnesty supporters nixed Senator Thune’s amendment that required the feds to finally build part of a needed security fence before moving forward on the status of illegal immigrants who’ve already broken the law to be here. And if shooting down the border fence wasn’t proof enough, they blew another chance by killing Senator Paul’s “Trust But Verify” amendment which required the completion of a fence in five years and required Congress to vote on whether the border is actually secure before furthering any immigration measures. And then they blew it yet again, nixing Senator Cornyn’s “Results” amendment, which also required border enforcement standards. Now the Senate’s pro-amnesty crowd is offering a fig leaf to security via the Corker-Hoeven Amendment, but this is really nothing more than empty promises. It’s amnesty right now and border security… eh, well, someday.

If this bill was genuinely concerned with border security, it might include practical solutions for those states that live with the problem every single day. Pass-through grants could be given to border states to actually build a fence. The most responsive and responsible level of government is the most local, and since governors accept pass-throughs all the time, this is a workable solution. We could also free up more federal lands along the border to be privatized. The farmers and ranchers would have a clear incentive to keep their private property secure from the flow of illegal immigrants and/or other illegal activities trafficked across the border onto land they’d cultivate. There are plenty of other commonsense solutions, but this bill isn’t about fixing problems; it’s about amnesty at all costs.

When every commonsense, concrete, and verifiable measure to secure the border is stripped away, despite politicians’ promises, what are we supposed to rely on to ensure that our currently unsecured border will be fixed in the future? If D.C. expects us to just sit back and “trust” them despite our permanent political class and Washington bureaucrats proving themselves so very untrustworthy, then I have a bridge to somewhere in Alaska to sell them. Our government is awash in one scandal after another involving blatant lies and violations of our basic liberties, and the leader of the pack ventures out on one road trip after another to avoid accountability.

Just like they did for Obamacare, the permanent political class is sugaring this bill with one goody after another to entice certain senators to vote for it. Look no further than page 983 of the bill, which contains a special visa exemption for foreign seafood workers in the 49th state despite huge unemployment numbers in the American workforce. This is obviously a hidden favor designed to buy the votes of Alaska Senators Murkowski and Begich.

And just like Obamacare, this amnesty bill fails on every level of economic sanity and sane reform. It offers no solutions. It will barely slow the flow of illegal immigration, which means we can expect millions and millions of new illegal aliens in coming years. Sort of what happened when we passed amnesty in 1986 without securing our borders first.

According to the CBO, the bill won’t stop illegal immigration, but it will drive down wages for average hardworking Americans. These would be the same blue-collar working class voters of every ethnicity who chose to sit home in 2012 instead of turning out to vote in the swing states we needed to carry in order to stop Barack Obama’s promised “fundamental transformation” of America. I note this just as a helpful reminder to those who believe the hyperventilated new hype claiming that conservatives need to support this bill in order to win future elections. That’s 100% wrong. The crony capitalists in D.C. and their corporatist friends on Wall Street might think this amnesty boondoggle is a great idea, but the average American worker in our middle class who’ll soon see lower wages is the one left out in the cold, along with those hard working immigrants who followed the rules and are working here legally.

Passing this bill with an unsecured border and within a growing welfare state under Barack Obama is economic insanity. Have people already forgotten that our bankrupt government is running up massive unsustainable deficits every year? We can’t afford to pay the piper now, much less the trillions of dollars more in welfare and entitlements for the millions who are here illegally today that will be granted this bill’s benefits. According to the Heritage Foundation, the bill provides only a temporary delay in granting illegal immigrants eligibility for all U.S. welfare and entitlement programs. We’re looking at an explosion of costs in the very near future. There is no way to pay for the added untold millions of new enrollees in these growing government programs. Pass this, Congress, and Obama will have succeeded in fundamentally transforming America.

Again, I am supportive of legal immigration and am as sympathetic as the next person to the aspirations of people who come here to work hard and live a better life than the poverty and unfree environments they left behind. So many are drawn here because we are an exceptional nation where freedom provides an equal opportunity for everyone to work hard and make something of themselves. But a key part of American exceptionalism is the rule of law. Border security is fundamental to the rule of law, as is incentivizing those who follow the legal path to citizenship instead of punishing them by promoting lawbreakers. This is non-negotiable.

It’s time our lawmakers remember that we are a sovereign nation of laws. This bill ignores that, and ignores the will of the people. The continued porous border goes against what politicians assured us was in this mountain-high bill, and in typical D.C. style it flies in the face of what many politicians campaigned on. I heard their campaign promises. You heard them, too.

It’s time for concerned Americans to flood our legislators’ phone lines with the input they need to hear from We the People. Join the mama grizzlies who are rearing up tirelessly to swat away false claims that amnesty is a good thing. Michelle Malkin rightly said the issue is not secure the border first, it’s “secure the border. Period.” Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter have also offered superb warnings on amnesty’s economic impacts to the middle class.

As the Senate moves to pass amnesty, the only bright spot in this travesty is the rallying revolution we can look forward to. For just as opposition to Obamacare became a rallying cry for the 2010 midterm elections, opposition to this fundamentally transforming amnesty bill will galvanize the grassroots in next year’s elections. And 2014 is just around the corner.

As always, Governor Palin reminds corrupt politicians that there isn’t anything a good old fashioned election can’t fix!

She also offers up some common sense solutions to the problem at hand.

In that vein, on June 25th, Governor Palin appeared on the John Gibson radio show. Though it’s a wide ranging interview, Sarah makes no bones about the fact that both Marco Rubio and Kelly Ayotte betrayed the American people, and need to face a strong primary challenge when they are next up for election. Some have asked why Governor Palin called out Rubio and Ayotte specifically, and not others, by name. It’s obvious that both Rubio and Ayotte absolutely lied to their constituents in order to get elected.

Of course, as she points out, every politician should have a contested primary, every election, if for no other reason, than to keep them honest. I wholeheartedly agree.

The Governor again offers some common sense solutions to the illegal immigration problem.

Governor Palin followed this up the same day with a scathing piece in which she threatens the GOP, by reminding them that many of us are barely holding on to our Republican “papers“. Of course, the Governor also notes many are ready to abandon the democrat party as well, for the exact same reasons.

Full disclosure, though I vote GOP [what else is there, really] I threw my “papers” away years ago and refuse to send the party a dime!

Please take a look at the article linked below to understand how the amnesty bill the Senate passed yesterday is a sad betrayal of working class Americans of every ethnicity who will see their wages lowered and their upward mobility lowered too. And yet we still do not have a secured border. This Senate-approved amnesty bill rewards lawbreakers and won’t solve any problems – as the CBO report notes that millions of more illegal immigrants will continue to flood the U.S. in coming years.

Great job, GOP establishment. You’ve just abandoned the Reagan Democrats with this amnesty bill, and we needed them to “enlarge that tent” of which you so often speak. It’s depressing to consider that the House of Representatives is threatening to pass some version of this nonsensical bill in the coming weeks.

Once again, I’ll point out the obvious to you: it was the loss of working class voters in swing states that cost us the 2012 election, not the Hispanic vote. Legal immigrants respect the rule of law and can see how self-centered a politician must be to fill this amnesty bill with favors, earmarks, and crony capitalists’ pork, and call it good. You disrespect Hispanics with your assumption that they desire ignoring the rule of law.

Folks like me are barely hanging on to our enlistment papers in any political party – and it’s precisely because flip-flopping political actions like amnesty force us to ask how much more bull from both the elephants in the Republican Party and the jackasses in the Democrat Party we have to swallow before these political machines totally abandon the average commonsense hardworking American. Now we turn to watch the House. If they bless this new “bi-partisan” hyper-partisan devastating plan for amnesty, we’ll know that both private political parties have finally turned their backs on us. It will then be time to show our parties’ hierarchies what we think of being members of either one of these out-of-touch, arrogant, and dysfunctional political machines.

Then came Governor Palin’s appearance with Uma Pemmaraju. At the end, Uma asked Sarah a question from fellow Texan Josh Painter, about starting the “Freedom Party.” That has been driving the left wing Republicans insane, and making Conservatives smile:

There are many who think the GOP needs to go the way of the Whigs, yours truly included, but most also know that is kind of the last option, if we can’t get the corrupt Republicans to shape up.

One thing about it, if the House passes an amnesty bill, the Republican Party will be as dead as dead can be.

When Ronald Reagan became a Republican, he famously said he didn’t leave the democrat party, the democrat party left him. There may come a day we all say something similar regarding the Republican Party. Sarah Palin’s many conversations in the past week is a warning, and she speaks for millions.
