First I must apologize to readers, I’ve been absent from the smokin’ keyboard for a few days. Still having a bit of a health issue, but getting a handle on it. Nothing serious, mostly aggravating, especially since it makes writing almost impossible. I MUST thank Whitney and Isabel for keeping things rolling with their always excellent commentary! I couldn’t do it without them!

If you’ve been following the absolute hate fest that has convened in Austin, Texas, you already know some of the insanity, and the amount of unbridled hatred being unleashed on those who want to protect, not only innocent children from the abortionists’ tools of mass destruction, but women as well, who are being victimized in Texas by Kermit Goznell wanna-bees.

Things came to a head on Tuesday on the Capital grounds when these loons started yelling “Hail Satan” while pro-life Christians sang “Amazing Grace.” I’m trying to think of a time in our nation’s history this kind of evil has been so openly displayed, and even counting the democrat party’s KKK adventures, I can’t seem to find anything like this. Not in America.

This should come as no real surprise, because, as you remember that democrats, at President Obama’s 2012 democrat party national convention openly booed the mention of God’s name [three times].

On Tuesday, ahead of a renewed vote that would not only ban abortions after 20 weeks, but also rid Texas of Animals like Mass Murderers Douglas Karpen, and LeRoy “Crock-Pot” Carhart, the hate filled pro-abortion crowd let loose.

House Bill 2 [HB2] would force abortion factories to come up to the same standards as hospitals and clinics, and the doctors, who make a fortune slaughtering children, have admitting rights at a nearby hospital, in case an emergency occurs. As we have come to learn, it’s common for these slaughter houses to be filthy, unsanitary, and poorly staffed. HB2 will end that in Texas and that is what these democrats are fighting against the hardest, claiming it will lead to back ally abortions. [not that what happens now is any better] And a lie, of course.

JESUS WEPT: Obama’s IRS Demands Pro-Life Group Disclose Frequency and Content of Members’ PRAYERS

The more we look at the tactics used by the Obama regime to assault political enemies, the more evil we discover.

News came out last week that Obama’s IRS thugs had demanded a pro-life group, the Coalition for Life of Iowa, not only disclose the content of their members’ PRAYERS, but how long their members spent praying!

Trying to find words to describe this illegal assault on the First Amendment isn’t easy. I think Sissy Willis says it much better than I ever could: Jesus wept:

On June 22, 2009, the Coalition for Life of Iowa received a letter from the IRS office in Cincinnati, Ohio, that oversees tax exemptions requesting details about how often members pray and whether their prayers are “considered educational.”

Please explain how all of your activities, including the prayer meetings held outside of Planned Parenthood, are considered educational as defined under 501(c)(3),” reads the letter, made public by the Thomas More Society, a public interest law firm that collected evidence about the IRS practices. “Organizations exempt under 501(c)(3) may present opinions with scientific or medical facts. Please explain in detail the activities at these prayer meetings. Also, please provide the percentage of time your organizations spends on prayer groups as compared with the other activities of the organization.”

The IRS is currently under fire for allegedly targeting conservative groups that applied for nonprofit status in recent years. In response, two IRS officials have stepped down, including Acting Commissioner Steven Miller.

That portion of the questionnaire, in which the IRS also asked about signs the group intended to carry at rallies at Planned Parenthood offices, is below:

During the hearings last week Congressman Aaron Schock (R-Illinois) asked disgraced IRS stooge Steve Miller about this assault on Liberty and Freedom, as expected, Miller played dumb:

Our right to worship as we please is one of our most basic rights. The pilgrims left England to escape state run religion, and our founders valued religious freedom so much, they wrote it into the Constitution.

Our Declaration of Independence goes even further, acknowledging that all of our rights come from God. The opening reads:

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

It’s clear our founders understood the power of God, and the importance of having God in one’s heart. So much so, they made it illegal for the government to interfere with this essential right.

Sissy Willis also asked God to help us. We all need to pray that God delivers us from the evils our out of control government is raining down on us all.

Culture of Life

Today marks the forty years since the Supreme Court decided Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion. Since then, millions of unborn children have been aborted. In its most recent fiscal year report, Planned Parenthood noted it had aborted 333, 964 unborn babies–a record year. That’s like wiping the city of St. Louis off the map.

When Thomas Jefferson penned the Declaration of Independence, he noted that we were endowed my our Creator with certain inalienable rights–life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Life precludes all the others. If we deny someone that first right, how can they have liberty? How can they purse happiness? Abortion is the ultimate form of prejudice–where personal convenience is pre-judged as more important than another person’s existence and those inalienable rights are denied.

For all the pearl clutching pro-choice women do regarding having men interfering with their “health” care choices, they seem to forget that it was nine men who decided Roe v. Wade. Men are allowed to make “health” care decisions for these pro-choice women, so long as it is convenient for them. Sadly, we live in a world where health care legislation indicates that a twenty-six year old is considered a child for insurance purposes, but baby in her eleventh week in her mother’s womb is not considered a child.

So much of politics is purportedly “for the children”, yet when we deny them the right to life, what does any other legislation matter? In light of the recent ineffably saddening shooting in Newtown, CT, this well done video edit asks President Obama that very question.

Advocating for life is not solely dependent upon court cases and legislation. It’s about a culture where life is valued. This is the culture we want to help create and cultivate. Andrew Breitbart once said that culture is upstream of politics. This does not only apply to those facets of culture like entertainment or sports, but also the lens through which our society sees. Let that lens be life.

Evidently Herman Cain Doesn’t Understand How the Constitution Works

A prime example of why Herman Cain is not ready to be president. Cain has been under fire for his series of statements and clarifications concerning his stance on abortion that left many wondering if Cain is really pro-life, or the typical politician claiming to be “personally” pro-life while supporting “choice” on the issue. As Jazz Shaw, who evidently doesn’t understand the Constitution either, pointed out: A frustrated Cain finally said he would sign an amendment banning abortion.

In an interview with CBN’s David Brody, Cain talks about amendments not only banning abortion, but gay marriage as well.

Brody: Are you for some sort of pro-life amendment to the Constitution that in essence would trump Roe v. Wade?

Cain: Yes. Yes I feel that strongly about it. If we can get the necessary support and it comes to my desk I’ll sign it. That’s all I can do. I will sign it.

This is incredible. Herman Cain is running for president and has no idea what the job is, or how the Constitution works when it comes to constitutional amendments. Fact is, the president has absolutely no role at all to play in the process, other than being a cheerleader for [or possibly against] a certain amendment. There’s nothing for him to sign.

Most of us learned this in grade school, but as a refresher: [emphasis mine]

The authority to amend the Constitution of the United States is derived from Article V of the Constitution. After Congress proposes an amendment, the Archivist of the United States, who heads the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), is charged with responsibility for administering the ratification process under the provisions of 1 U.S.C. 106b. The Archivist has delegated many of the ministerial duties associated with this function to the Director of the Federal Register. Neither Article V of the Constitution nor section 106b describe the ratification process in detail. The Archivist and the Director of the Federal Register follow procedures and customs established by the Secretary of State, who performed these duties until 1950, and the Administrator of General Services, who served in this capacity until NARA assumed responsibility as an independent agency in 1985.

The Constitution provides that an amendment may be proposed either by the Congress with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate or by a constitutional convention called for by two-thirds of the State legislatures. None of the 27 amendments to the Constitution have been proposed by constitutional convention. The Congress proposes an amendment in the form of a joint resolution. Since the President does not have a constitutional role in the amendment process, the joint resolution does not go to the White House for signature or approval. The original document is forwarded directly to NARA’s Office of the Federal Register (OFR) for processing and publication. The OFR adds legislative history notes to the joint resolution and publishes it in slip law format. The OFR also assembles an information package for the States which includes formal “red-line” copies of the joint resolution, copies of the joint resolution in slip law format, and the statutory procedure for ratification under 1 U.S.C. 106b.

The Archivist submits the proposed amendment to the States for their consideration by sending a letter of notification to each Governor along with the informational material prepared by the OFR. The Governors then formally submit the amendment to their State legislatures. In the past, some State legislatures have not waited to receive official notice before taking action on a proposed amendment. When a State ratifies a proposed amendment, it sends the Archivist an original or certified copy of the State action, which is immediately conveyed to the Director of the Federal Register. The OFR examines ratification documents for facial legal sufficiency and an authenticating signature. If the documents are found to be in good order, the Director acknowledges receipt and maintains custody of them. The OFR retains these documents until an amendment is adopted or fails, and then transfers the records to the National Archives for preservation.

A proposed amendment becomes part of the Constitution as soon as it is ratified by three-fourths of the States (38 of 50 States). When the OFR verifies that it has received the required number of authenticated ratification documents, it drafts a formal proclamation for the Archivist to certify that the amendment is valid and has become part of the Constitution. This certification is published in the Federal Register and U.S. Statutes at Large and serves as official notice to the Congress and to the Nation that the amendment process has been completed.

I know many will say Mr Cain just made a mistake and it’s no big deal. But it is a big deal. We’re not talking about electing a city council member, we’re talking about electing someone to the most powerful position in the world. We’re talking about serious issues that will effect the lives of tens of millions of Americans. You’d think one of the parties to the discussion would at least know and understand the process for which his desired goals would be obtained.

I like Herman Cain, the man. I think he’s good at what he’s done, and capable of doing more. That said, his lack of knowledge, lack of planning, and lack of experience continues to trouble me greatly. I’m a Conservative and see these problems crystal clear, what do you think the media and the Obama regime will do to the man if he becomes our nominee?

There’s a reason why we generally elect governors to the presidency. The skills required to successfully govern a state are the same skills needed to govern the nation.

I know why Herman Cain appeals to so many people. For one, none of the governors running for president are acceptable, and Cain enjoys that “outsider” status. What Cain doesn’t have is the basic skill set needed, and an understanding of the position he’s applying for.

Conservatives need to think long and hard before electing Herman Cain.

Personally, I feel both of these issues, abortion and gay rights, are states rights issues, and the federal government has no standing in either, but Roe v Wade made that position moot on abortion. The Court overreached big time and “found” a right that had never before existed.

As for some sort of marriage amendment, if there was to be one, I’d want it to strengthen state’s rights and stop judicial interference. Though some states have voted to allow gay marriage, others have had the courts impose it on them, even though the people were against. Mitt Romney imposed it in Massachusetts by Executive Order. I believe in the right of the people to vote one way or the other. I do not think the courts should be able to override the will of the people, as long as everything is done legally.

I also doubt either issue is going to be solved anytime soon. On abortion, I’d love to see it banned, but for now, our best bet is to continue to educate people of the horrors of abortion, and continue to de-fund the multi-billion dollar slaughter houses run by Planned Parenthood. Public opinion is changing and more people now are pro-life than at any time in recent memory. This is a fight we are winning.

Breaking: Violent Pro-Abortion Supporter Bloodies Peaceful Protesters

Anti-abortion protesters were violently attacked outside a late-term abortion mill in Albuquerque, New Mexico, leaving one man, Bud Shaver, a former Operation Rescue intern, with a deep gash in his head. As you see in the video, the attacker used a set of keys as a weapon. There was clear intent to do some major damage by the attacker.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., July 6, 2011  – A woman who claimed to be a supporter of abortion violently attacked peaceful pro-life protesters yesterday outside Southwestern Women’s Options, a late-term abortion clinic in Albuquerque, New Mexico, leaving one protester bleeding.

The woman told the pro-lifers that she had once had an abortion. She then began to punch and kick Bud Shaver, a former Operation Rescue intern, and a woman named Chris. She used keys as a weapon, inflicting a gash on Shaver’s head that paramedics said required stitches.

Shaver, who works with Project Defend Life, began videotaping after the attack began; his footage shows pro-lifers trying to defend themselves from a flurry of punches and kicks. After the attack, the woman walked into the abortion clinic but left a few moments later, driving away before police could respond to Shaver’s 911 call for help.

Shaver told Operation Rescue that the woman was a passerby that stopped, but she did not appear to be a patient of the clinic.

Police and paramedics eventually responded, but the perpetrator was not apprehended. Her description and license plate number were reported to the officers as well as the 911 dispatcher.

The lax way in which the police are handling acts of violence against pro-lifer who are peacefully exercising their Constitutional Rights and offering practical help to need women is shocking,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. “It sends the wrong message that violence on the part of abortion supporters is acceptable. We pray that this troubled woman is brought to justice and gets the help she needs with her anger and grief issues.”

The attack occurred just days after Operation Rescue released a 911 recording made from another abortion clinic in Albuquerque, UNM Center for Reproductive Health, where a woman could clearly be heard struggling for life.

Operation Rescue says it has also obtained a series of 911 emergency recordings made from Southwestern Women’s Options where the violent attack took place that clearly indicate life-threatening abortion complications that required emergency hospitalization. OR plans to release the first of these recordings later this week.

The pro-life group asked the public to help protect peaceful pro-life activists by calling the Albuquerque Chief of Police and demanding the arrest of the woman who attacked Shaver and his associates.

This is unacceptable on every level, but it shows the mindset of the extreme left in this country. Those in favor of killing babies at will are losing the battle, as surveys show Americans are becoming pro-life, especially younger Americans. America is coming to see the immorality of abortion on demand.

Thanks to dedicated men and women America is also learning just how dangerous abortions can be for the mother too. We are learning of many horrors that for years have been covered up. 

So what’s a radical leftist to do? Get violent, of course. Just like the union thugs have had violent protests every time there is an attempt at reform, we fully expect we’ll see more violence from the pro-abortion zealots. After all, most have already committed an incredibly violent act on their own child. Why would they hesitate to attack someone unknown to them.

I’d like to ask our readers to put pressure on Albuquerque’s Police Chief Ray Schultz. Call the phone number above. Hell, shut the phone lines down! Demand they track this violent woman down before she attacks someone else. It’s obvious she is unstable and most definitely a threat to herself, and others. She needs help, and her actions demand justice.

We as Americans cannot allow things like this to stand. The attack was bad enough, but the inactivity by the police is beyond the pale. They have the attack on camera, with the attacker clearly visible, and it seems they even have the attacker’s license plate number. This is the sort of thing a good police department could have taken care of within hours of the attack.

Abortion is a disgusting ritual that impassions people on both sides of the debate. That’s a good thing, and the American way. Violently attacking those who disagree, is not.

Sarah Palin Calls Out National Organization For Women Over Their Opposition To Pro-Life Super Bowl Ad

This is pretty typical. Progressives sell their souls to the cause, nothing else matters, so it really should be of no surprise whatsoever that a group claiming to support women sells out.

For the record, I am pro-life. I find it hard to justify abortion n any circumstance, but I’ll listen to opposing arguments. However, I don’t run a group that claims to speak for all women. If NOW was all it claimed to be, it would support all women, especially those who are pro-life.

Unfortunately, NOW is progressive first, pro woman second.

As Sarah Palin recently reminded us, the women of the original feminist movement were pro-life. These were strong women, women who could conquer all. As she wrote:

The pro-life movement is pro-women, and it empowers women with the message that we are strong enough and smart enough to be able to pursue education, vocations and avocations while giving life to a child. This movement is largely run by women. In fact, many of the earliest leaders of the women’s rights movement were pro-life – women like Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul, the author of the original Equal Rights Amendment in 1923, who said, “Abortion is the ultimate exploitation of women.”

Today, more and more young women agree with these feminist foremothers, for they know in their hearts that the culture of life empowers women by offering them real choices. Unfortunately, rather than portray this positive message, the media often focuses on divisions among Americans on this issue.

Women’s Rights Groups: Your Double Standard is Showing

Women’s Rights groups, like NOW, commendably call out advertisers and networks for airing sexist and demeaning portrayals of women that lead to young women’s diminished self-esteem and acceptance of roles as mere sexed-up objects.

What a ridiculous situation they’re getting themselves into now with their protest of CBS airing a pro-life ad during the upcoming Super Bowl game. The ad will feature Heisman trophy winner Tim Tebow and his mom, and they’ll speak to the sanctity of life and the beautiful potential within every innocent child as Mrs. Tebow acknowledges her choice to give Tim life, despite less than ideal circumstances. Messages like this empower women! This speaks to the strength and commitment and nurturing spirit within women. The message says everything positive and nothing negative about the power of women – and life. Evidently, some women’s rights groups like NOW do not like that message.

NOW is looking at the pro-life issue backwards. Women should be reminded that they are strong enough and smart enough to make decisions that allow for career and educational opportunities while still giving their babies a chance at life. In my own home, my daughter Bristol has also been challenged by pro-abortion “women’s rights” groups who don’t agree with her decision to have her baby, nor do they like the abstinence message which she articulated as her personal commitment. NOW could gain ground and credibility with everyday Americans, thus allowing their pro-women message to be heard by more than just their ardent supporters, if they made wiser decisions regarding which battles to pick. They should call attention to and embrace the Tebow’s message, instead of covertly and overtly disrespecting what Mrs. Tebow, Bristol, and millions of other women have chosen to do (in less than ideal circumstances).

My message to these groups who are inexplicably offended by a pro-woman, pro-child, pro-life message airing during the Super Bowl: please concentrate on empowering women, help with efforts to prevent unexpected pregnancies, stay consistent with your message that for too long women have been made to feel like sex objects in our “modern” culture and that we can expect better in 2010. But don’t let your double standard glare so vividly as to undo some of the good to which you could contribute.

And CBS: just do the right thing. Don’t cave. Have the backbone to run the ad.

To the Tebows: thank you. America is listening. We appreciate you.

This is one of the things that really makes Sarah Palin such a special person in today’s political environment. Sarah is unabashedly pro-life and embraces the culture of life with great zeal. Never afraid to stand up for those innocents unable to stand up for themselves.

We are to be judged by how we treat the least among us. In my mind that’s those with special-needs, our elderly, it’s our soon-to-be-born babies. The heart of our nation shines brightly when we take care of those who are less fortunate, who have more challenges than the rest of us.

It never ceases to amaze me how these so-called “pro-choice” groups think. They push for a “woman’s right to choose” but you damn well better choose their way, or else. Isn’t progressivism great!

Colorado Springs, Colo (Friday, Jan. 15, 2010) – Focus on the Family will broadcast the first Super Bowl ad in its history February 7 during CBS Sports’ coverage of the game at Dolphin Stadium in South Florida.

The 30-second spot from the international family-help organization will feature college football star Tim Tebow and his mother, Pam. They will share a personal story centered on the theme of “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life.”

Jim Daly, president and CEO of Focus on the Family, said the chance to partner with the Tebows and lift up a meaningful message about family and life comes at the right moment in the culture, because “families need to be inspired.”

Tim and Pam share our respect for life and our passion for helping families thrive,” Daly said. “They live what we see every day – that the desire for family closeness is written on the hearts of every generation. Focus on the Family is about nurturing that desire and strengthening families by empowering them with the tools they need to live lives rooted in morals and values.”

Daly added that all the funds to air the ad came from a handful of “very generous and committed friends” who donated specifically to support the project. No money from the ministry’s general fund was used.

The Tebows said they agreed to appear in the commercial because the issue of life is one they feel very strongly about.

Daly chuckled at some of the “will-they-or-won’t-they?” speculation in the media about whether Focus would indeed create a Super Bowl ad.

Now that the ad has been shot, we’re excited to tell people it’s coming, because the Tebows’ story is such an important one for our culture to hear,” he said. “You won’t want to miss it.”

Maybe someday the National Organization for Women will re-think their position on all of this and join the culture of life with the rest of civilized society, and stop backing the barbaric practices of the culture of death brought about by the progressive movement.
