Game On! Transcript Of Sarah Palin’s Wisconsin Speech

I was honored to be in Madison, Wisconsin, yesterday with a group of strong patriots willing to rough the snow and cold to stand together in solidarity.

~ Sarah Palin

By Gary P Jackson

Sarah Palin has released the transcript of the very popular speech she gave in Madison, Wisconsin on Saturday.

In case you missed it, you can watch the video here, and check out some extra photos from the event here.

In our opinion this was one of the strongest speeches Sarah Palin has given since we have been following her. Many are comparing it to her vice presidential acceptance speech, which ignited a movement that has continued to grow stronger and stronger.

Her speech:

Hello, Madison, Wisconsin! You look good. I feel like I’m at home. This is beautiful. Madison, I am proud to get to be with you today. Madison, these are the frontlines in the battle for the future of our country. This is where the line has been drawn in the sand. And I am proud to stand with you today in solidarity.

I am here today as a patriot, as a taxpayer, as a former union member, and as the wife of a union member. What I have to say today I say it to our good patriotic brothers and sisters who are in unions. I say this, too, proudly standing here as the daughter of a family full of school teachers. My parents, my grandparents, aunt, cousins, brother, sister – so many of these good folks are living on teachers’ pensions, having worked or are still working in education.

A pension is a promise that must be kept. Now, your Governor Scott Walker understands this. He understands that states must be solvent in order to keep their promises. And that’s what he’s trying to do. He’s not trying to hurt union members. Hey, folks, he’s trying to save your jobs and your pensions! But unfortunately some of your union bosses don’t understand this, and they don’t care if union members have to be laid off. No, they want to protect their own power, and if that means forcing a governor to lay off union workers, then so be it; they’ve proven that that is fine with them. But that’s not real solidarity! Real solidarity means coming together for the common good. This Tea Party movement is real solidarity!

Well, I am in Madison today because this is where real courage and real integrity can be found. Courage is your governor and your legislators standing strong in the face of death threats and thug tactics. Courage is you all standing strong with them! You saw the forces aligned against fiscal reform. You saw the obstruction and the destruction. You saw these violent rent-a-mobs trash your capital and vandalize businesses.

Madison, you held your ground. Your governor did the right thing. And you won. Your beautiful state won. And you know what – people still have their jobs because of it! That’s courage. And that’s integrity. And that’s something that’s sorely missing in the Beltway today.

Because let me tell you what isn’t courageous: It’s politicians promising the American voters that, as we drown in $14.5 trillion debt, that they’re going to cut $100 billion out of this year’s budget. But then they cave on that and they reduce it down to $61 billion after they get elected. Then they get in there and they strike a deal and decide, nah, they will reduce that down to $38 billion. And then after some politics-as-usual and accounting gimmicks, we find out it’s not $38 billion in cuts. You know that $38 billion – we don’t have it; we’re borrowing it. We borrow from foreign countries to give to foreign countries, and that’s insanity. We find out it’s not even $38 billion; it’s less than $1 billion in real cuts. Folks, that $352 million in real cuts – that’s no more than the federal government is going to spend in the time it takes us to hold this rally today! That is not courage; that’s capitulation!

Now, there’s a lesson here for the Beltway politicos, something they need to understand; the lesson comes from here in Madison. So, our lesson is to the GOP establishment first. And yeah, I’ll take on the GOP establishment. What more can they say about us, you know?

So, to the GOP establishment: if you stand on the platform, if you stand by your pledges, we will stand with you. We will fight with you, GOP. We have your back. Together we will win because America will win!

We didn’t elect you just to re-arrange the deck chairs on a sinking Titanic. We didn’t elect you to just stand back and watch Obama re-distribute those deck chairs. What we need is for you to stand up, GOP, and fight. Maybe I should ask some of the Badger women’s hockey team—those champions—maybe I should ask them if we should be suggesting to GOP leaders they need to learn how to fight like a girl!

And speaking of President Obama, I think we ought to pay tribute to him today at this Tax Day Tea Party because really he’s the inspiration for why we’re here today.

That’s right. The Tea Party Movement wouldn’t exist without Barack Obama.

You see, Candidate Obama didn’t have a record while he was in office; but President Obama certainly has a record, and that’s why we’re here. And hey, media, it’s not inciting violence and it’s not hateful rhetoric to call someone out on their record, so that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to do it to be clear. That’s right: we’re here, we’re clear, get used to it!

Candidate Obama promised to be fiscally responsible. He promised to cut the deficit; but President Obama tripled it!

Candidate Obama promised that fiscal responsibility; but President Obama flushed a trillion dollars down the drain on a useless “stimulus” package and then he bragged about the jobs he “created” in congressional districts that don’t even exist! That’s right; on this, White House, you lie. The only thing that trillion-dollar travesty stimulated was a debt-crisis and a Tea Party!

Now, the left’s irresponsible and radical policies awakened a sleeping America so that we understood finally what it was that we were about to lose. We were about to lose the blessings of liberty and prosperity. They caused the working men and women of this country to get up off their sofas, to come down from the deer stand, get out of the duck blind, and hit the streets, come to the town halls, and finally to the ballot box. And Tea Party Americans won an electoral victory of historic proportions last November. We the people, we rose up and we decisively rejected the left’s big government agenda. We don’t want it. We can’t afford it. And we are unwilling to pay for it.

But what was the president’s reaction to this mandate for fiscal sanity?

Less than 90 days after the election, in his State of the Union address, President Obama told us, nah, the era of big government is here to stay, and we’re going to pay for it whether we want to or not. Instead of reducing spending, they’re going to “Win The Future” by “investing” more of your hard-earned money in some cockamamie harebrained ideas like more solar shingles, more really fast trains – some things that venture capitalists will tell you are non-starters. We’re flat broke, but he thinks these solar shingles and really fast trains will magically save us. So now he’s shouting “all aboard” his bullet train to bankruptcy. “Win The Future”? W.T.F. is about right.

And when Wisconsin’s own Paul Ryan presented a plan for fiscal reform, what was Obama’s response? He demonized the voices of responsibility with class warfare and with fearmongering. And I say personally to our president: Hey, parent to parent, Barack Obama, for shame for you to suggest that the heart of the commonsense conservative movement would do anything to harm our esteemed elders, to harm our children with Down syndrome, to harm those most in need. No, see, in our book, you prioritize appropriately and those who need the help will get the help. The only way we do that is to be wise and prudent and to budget according to the right priorities.

Now, our president isn’t leading, he’s punting on this debt crisis. The only future Barack Obama is trying to win is his own re-election! He’s willing to mortgage your children’s future to ensure his own. And that is not the audacity of hope. That’s cynicism!

Piling more debt onto our children and grandchildren is not courage. No, that’s cowardice!

But did you notice when he gave that polarizing speech last week there was a little gem in the speech. Maybe you missed it. But he spoke about the social contract and the “social compact.” Well, Mr. President, the most basic tenet in that social compact is adhering to the consent of the governed. That would be “We the People.” President Obama, you do not have our consent. You didn’t have it in November. And you certainly don’t have it now. You willfully ignored the will of the American people.

You ignored it when you rammed through Obamacare.

You ignored it when you drove up the debt to $14.5 trillion.

You ignored it when you misrepresented your deficit spending.

You ignored it when you proposed massive tax increases on the middle class and our job creators.

You ignored is when you went to bat for government-funded abortions and yet you threw our brave men and women in uniform under the bus, Mr. Commander in Chief.

You ignored it when you got us into a third war for fuzzy and inconsistent reasons, a third war that we cannot afford.

You ignore it when you apologize for America while you bow and kowtow to our enemies, and you snub our allies like Israel.

And you ignore when you manipulate the U.S. oil supply. You cut off oil development here and then you hypocritically praise foreign countries for their drilling.

And when hardworking families are hit with $4 and $5 a gallon gas and your skyrocketing energy and food prices as you set out to fundamentally transform America, you ignore our concerns and you tell us we just better get used to it.

Well, Mr. President, we’re not going to get used to it. Not now. Not ever. You ignored us in 2010. But you cannot ignore us in 2012.

Mr. President, you and your cohorts threw all the hatred and all the violence you could at these good folks in Madison, Wisconsin. But you lost here.

And Madison, you defended the 2010 electoral mandate. You are heroes, you are patriots, and when the history of this Tea Party Movement is written, what you accomplished here will not be forgotten.

Your historic stand brought down the curtain on the last election. And the 2012 election begins here.

We will take the courage and the integrity that you showed all of America. We will take it and we will win back our country!

God has shed His grace on thee, America. We will not squander what we have.

We will fight for America! And it starts here in Madison, Wisconsin!

It starts here! It starts now! What better place than the state that hosts the Super Bowl champs, to call out the liberal left and let them know: Mr. President, game on!

God bless you, Wisconsin, and God bless America!

    Hey Gary,

I’ve been arguing with some Palin-haters at Redstate all day. I always thought of people attacking her over the “but she quit” thing as garbage and that she personally would’ve went bankrupt had she stayed in office.

However, I have not seen the response below. I do not know the exact specifics of this situation, so if you could tell me how you would respond and disprove the statement below it would be a great help:

    http://www.redstate.com/joshleguern/2011/04/17/palin-in-wisconsin-finally-a-potential-2012-candidate-with-something-good-to-say/#comment-781

    mbecker908:

“All she had to do was pick up the phone when the s*storm started, call HER Attorney General or HER chief ethics officer (I can’t recall the official title) and have them officially certify – no legislative action required – that her actions in the matters in question were within the scope of her official duties as Governor. Game over. She has no liability whatsoever. The State would have defended the State against any liability and overall legal cost for that, in the world of legal defense, would have been chump change and she would not have “had to” resign from office.

Gee, I wonder why she never made the call? Or maybe she did and was told no.”

This guy mbecker908 at redstate thinks that Palin accessed her private email at work and will get legitimate ethics violations for that. I think that even if true, this is a petty issue.

Please let me know your thoughts

    Thanks!

Not sure who wrote that nonsense, but it’s total bullshit. I mean total bullshit.

The Alaska law SPECIFICALLY DID NOT protect the Executive from frivolous lawsuits. Oddly enough, legislators WERE protected from this crap!

In fact, the law concerning the Executive were so screwed up, Alaska passed NEW laws that DO protect the Executive. It DIRECTLY addresses what happened to Sarah Palin. The law went into effect on December 22, 2010.

      http://newsminer.com/view/full_story/10563878/article-New-ethics-rules-in-Alaska-to-take-effect-Dec–22?instance=home_news_window_left_bullets

Look, Red State is incredibly hostile to Sarah Palin. Art Chance “AChance” and Michael Becker are “favored sons” over there and liars of the first order.

You can quote me on that.

Both have ties to the “Corrupt Bastards” who Sarah took down. They are incredibly dishonest, and nasty when it comes to Palin, and the hacks over there at Red State threaten anyone who forcibly calls them out for what they are.

Go back and hammer them, but don’t be surprised if you get a warning or get banned, because that’s how that bunch rolls.

BTW, EVERY ethics charge against Sarah, except the legal defense fund deal, has been thrown out, including the email bullshit that Becker is lying about.

The legal defense fund issue was a technicality, as the creators, the same ones who created Bill Clinton’s and other high profile politicians’ fund, used the word “official” in the description. This was done because “defense fund” websites were popping up everywhere and no one knew if they were legit or not. None of them were authorized by Sarah, and fears were they were simply cons to steal good people’s money. “Official” was used in the description for obvious reasons.

This was a long process, as the original “independent investigator” was employed by Perkins Coie, Barack Obama’s attorney of record. Obviously, this was a problem. If you know who Anita Dunn is, you know her husband, who would eventually become Obama’s White House council, was also from Perkins Coie. Perkins Coie is the democrat party’s go to firm. They specialize in stealing elections. I also think they represent Obama in all of the “bither” cases, but not for certain. He’s given someone over $2 million, at any rate.

Anyhow, after the original “independent investigator” was run off after he violated Alaska law by talking to the media (and giving them false information) he was replaced by Timothy Petumenos. After more investigation, Sarah and her attorneys settled the case. The old fund was ended, everyone’s donations returned, and a new “legal” fund was set up.

Personally, I think Petumenos looked especially hard for the “technicality.” Tim was the guy who looked at the bogus “Troopergate” witch hunt and ripped Kim Elton, Gunny French, and the rest of Obama’s stooges a new one. Remeber, after the election, Obama gave Kim Elton a make work job in the Department of Interior, as a reward for a job well done.

Working on behalf of the Alaska Personnel Board as an independent investigator, Petumenos totally discredited the “Branchflower Report” pointed out the entire thing was full of lies, and while it found Sarah “in violation” of ethics laws, these loons cited a statute that didn’t even apply to the Executive!

Petumenos cleared Sarah of any wrong doing, hammered the democrats. Of course, Obama got his “October Surprise” as Stephen Branchflower leaked his bogus report days before the election.

Anyhow, and this is just my opinion, of course, I think Tim looked extra hard for SOMETHING to get Sarah for, just so he didn’t look like one of her stooges, after exposing the democrats attempt to lie about Sarah with the Troopergate nonsense.

Anyhow, Becker and Chance are liars, and assholes. They are close to the Corrupt Bastards Club members and absolutely hate Sarah because she teamed up with the FBI to sent their buddies to federal prison. Both are dishonest dirt bags.

Good luck presenting the facts. I’m afraid we are going to be fighting liars like those two from now until Sarah takes the Oath of Office in January of 2013.

    Hi Gary,

Thanks for the information. That really clears up alot and blows their bullshit arguments out of the water.

So you’re saying that under the previous Alaska law that Sarah could not go to her AG to get any of the lawsuites decertified right?

Redstate really has become a cesspool. I used to check it once a day before all this. It’s amazing that Erickson allows this to go on. Of course, not one post about Palin’s speech! I wanted to take some of those clowns on over there for awhile now but it’s been hard when there’s never any Palin posts. This last one was not on the main blog, it was from a regular poster who wrote his own diary about Palin’s speech. Pretty sad.

Some of the people at conservatives4palin were filling me in on Redstate. Turns out Achance went off the deep end supporting Murkowski while Redstate had endorsed Joe Miller. It was a major embarrassment for Redstate and Achance was banned. I actually argued with Achance a bit back in the day. Couldn’t believe some of the garbage he came up with. The fact that he supported the super RINO Murkowski says all you need to know about him and any criticism he had of Sarah.

I will continue to fight over there to clear Sarah’s name. Don’t care if I get banned though. That site is now garbage and I’m committed to helping Sarah become our next President to put us back on the right track.

I actually hinted in my last post there today that Sarah implemented ACES to clear up the corruption from the past administration — from the Corrupt Bastards Club that I suspect that some on this board still have ties to. I also called Becker “A Poor Man’s Achance” but strangely enough it looks like that post was taken down. Hmmmmmm.

    Anyways, thanks for the help.

Yeah. Alaska offered no protection whatsoever for the Executive OR their staff. None whatsoever.

It gets worse. There was no law against frivolous harassment. Anyone could file a complaint for anything. One loon filed a complaint alleging “bribery” because some school kids sent her some homemade cookies as a “bribe” to get her to come speak to their school.

She went and the Alaska Mafia went apeshit! She was given several gifts, like a signed hockey stick and so on. Trinkets, tokens of appreciation, nothing of real monetary value. There were 5 or 6 “ethics complaints” filed after that one trip!

Hell, one loser filed a complaint because after the 2008 Greta went to Alaska and did a series of interviews, including one in the Governor’s office. This same loon filed another complaint because after she resigned half of the nation’s media high tailed it up to her fishing spot to interview her!

In their little world, doing press interviews was illegal!

As you know, Sarah was Commander-in-Chief of the only National Guard units that are on permanent deployment.

Not long after she became Governor, she wanted to make sure her troops were being taken care of, and visited them in Kuwait and Germany. That was OK though, because the Alaska Mafia hadn’t been created yet.

However, once the 2008 election was over, and she TRIED to get back to business, all changed. In June of 2009 she went to Camp Bondsteel in Kosovo to visit her troops there. Stopped in Germany again as well.

To tell you how insane these loons are, they filed an “ethics” complaint saying she violated the Constitution by speaking to the troops! She was their Commander-in-Chief! It was insane!

She also got a complaint because she wore a jacket in sub-zero weather. Granted it said “Arctic Cat” and it was the Iron Dog, and yeah, Arctic Cat sponsors Todd, but still, no other elected official would have gotten any grief for that.

The final straw though was when these evil bastards started filing ethics complaints against her staff, who also had no legal protection from the state!

This was a well coordinated effort by Obama’s team. Pete Rouse, the same Pete rouse who stood in after Rahm left, ran the Alaska Mafia out of the West Wing of the White House.

Rouse is a pretend Alaskan who only lived there a short time almost 30 years ago, but still votes absentee there.

Anyhow, there were no protections for the executive whatsoever.

Worse, nothing to stop frivolous crap. These people, ALL of whom were well know to state officials, even started filing them under fake names. One used the name of a soap opera star!

There is a law that says one cannot discuss an ongoing ethics investigation. That included state officials as well as the complainant. This, of course is to keep things confidential until there is a verdict. It’s to protect everyone involved.

Problem is, the law had no teeth. There was literally NO punishment whatsoever for breaking the law. None!

So here’s what Satan’s little helpers would do. They’d all get together, designate someone to be file the complaint, then have their stories ready to go. More than once an article came out about a complaint before the damned thing was even filed!

Of course, thanks to Obama, gutter snipes like Jeanne Devon, Shannyn Moore, and Linda Biegel (who was the DNC’s “official” blogger for Alaska) were give access to cesspools like the Huffington Post, and of course, the blood libel media picked it all up from there!

There’s never been such a coordinated attack on a sitting Governor, or any other official.

Of course, these bottom feeders, Obama included. thought they’d run her out of office, and they’d never see her again.

They didn’t understand Sarah, or leadership. By resigning she saved the state millions of dollars and made an end run around the whole mess!

Even though Alaska wouldn’t defend Sarah, it still had to deal with the costs of researching these bullshit charges and the incredible barrage of FOIA requests. There were up 1000% or so after Obama’s thugs started in. This cost the state of Alaska $2 million. We estimated at the time, that had she stayed in office, and the complaints kept coming at the same rate (and there is no reason to think they wouldn’t) the state of Alaska could have very well been out $6 to $10 million.

Something else someone pointed out to me the other day, had she stayed, it would have assured a democrat victory when her term was up. This way, she put her very capable number two in charge, and everything just kept on rolling. He sailed to victory.

Bottom line is Sarah outsmarted them on every level. My guess is when they are alone at night, and the demons call, all of these useless losers wish like hell they would have just left her and her state alone! Had she went back and just did her job as Governor, she would have never had the time to become the national leader that she has. She would have never been the 45th President of the United States!

As for Red State, yeah, it’s a sewer.

Both Art Chance and Mike Becker are Murkowski stooges. That should tell you all you need to know!

Thanks for fighting the good fight! We need more patriots like you.
