Sarah Palin: Primary Expenditure in Humanitarian Crisis Should Be Jet Fuel to Fly Children Back Home to Parents

children

By Isabel Matos

Leading without a title, Sarah Palin is justifiably angry at Democrats and Republican politicians alike. They exploit the plight of children for political purposes yet are heartless when faced with the reality that is the latest crisis created by Obama. Giving up on Congress for being too timid and gutless to impeach him, she calls to action in her timeline post Americans to make their voices heard at the ballot box including those whose hypocrisy she sheds light on.

Dear Humanitarians, Since it Takes a Village to Stop Amnesty Abuse of Children, Join Me

“It’s for the children!”

“This is a humanitarian crisis!”

Finally, they have won me over. I actually agree with the liberals’ war whoop. I, too, demand that this issue of young illegal aliens flooding across our border into horrendous conditions be taken care of. Now! Uncompassionate people, wake up! Though it’s claimed by Democrats ad nauseam to justify more spending to pile on our $17 trillion debt, and it’s applied to every single “crisis” their policies conjure up, and no matter the cause you’re labeled a racist if you disagree with their policies, well, this time it really IS for the children.
I say this as a mother – a bleeding-heart compassionate woman and mother. I say, how dare anyone turn a blind eye and further harden your horrid heart when you see these pictures snuck out of the innocent children’s holding pens – snuck out because our government is censoring images released. It must be my (former) friends in the GOP ordering this censorship because Democrat leadership knows better than to EVER spy on or censor the press; they’d NEVER infringe on the First Amendment. So, for shame, Republicans. These thousands of hungry, innocent children rushing in through Mexico are just the tip of the Sedona Red Rocks (granted, some of these illegals are 18-year-old men whom you wouldn’t want to mess with, but, still, according to Obamacare we now dub young adults “children” until they’re 26, so…). Expect to see hundreds of thousands of another country’s children walk right through our welcoming open border, counting on America’s families to render all aid. We owe it to ourselves to be prepared – so, work even harder, working class, while our President uses his trustworthy discernment to redistribute your paycheck, because it IS for the children, after all. And it takes a village, don’t you know? These victims are brought here (by SOMEONE in authority in their own countries) facing sweltering 110-degree Arizona heat, illness, unsanitary conditions with unbelievable hygiene issues, Texan food the kids don’t like because it’s too foreign to them, and possibly sexual exploitation. By any definition, this is child abuse! We cannot ignore this, and to do so proves you are heartlessly oblivious to the plight of those who, though not willing and able to follow rules or our laws, are expecting a free pass and handout anyway. As a Christian I find it unforgivable to ignore this issue of overrunning border security into these conditions in southern states, and this one issue is just about driving me to renounce my Republican ties because, see, even leaders on the RIGHT side of the aisle haven’t exerted all Constitutional power to stop the madness. A few have tried, but until they’re sent reinforcements, then atrocities like the child abuse and exploitation you’re now getting wind of will only get worse. It’s already hard to recognize our once exceptional nation amidst the neglect of this issue of children used as political pawns. Can you imagine this disregard for child safety happening even a short decade ago? The press would have had none of it, and they’d shine light on what the underlying problem is. They’d report that it’s not the innocent babes’ fault, would attempt to get to the bottom of it, and then finally they’d blame Bush. Today, that approach is ignored. They just blame Bush. There is a loud and aggressive invitation to illegals of all ages and from all countries to “kick off your shoes and come on in!” Now that’s Southern Hospitality! It’s sent by foreign leaders and our own. C’mon, with all the free stuff we can supply everyone, how can anyone turn this down? Government will have to grow enormously to accommodate this influx, and services and care will inevitably have to be rationed, but like we teach our children – we’re all better off being disciplined! And isn’t sharing our resources okay as long as we have trustworthy, compassionate career politicians in charge of the nation’s priorities? Remember, our Republic has been blessed because we committed to nurture a caring, compassionate, pro-child, law abiding citizenry. And because of those mores, it’s unconscionable to take any more of this chaos and crisis. I say, enough is enough. This issue of the children MUST be addressed. So, GOP and Democrats alike, where are you on this humanitarian issue of child abuse?Hang on to your hat, because here’s the issue: Barack Obama has orchestrated this newest “crisis” in order to overload the system with the intention of “fixing” the problems his own policies create – by fiat, and that infamous phone and pen; screw the rule of law. He’s warned you by proudly claiming his executive orders can bypass the peoples’ representatives and obviously ignore the will of the people.

This exploitation of foreigners’ children is an inhumane ploy to entice families to break laws by literally shoving kids across one of Obama’s infamous and irrelevant lines, with assurance that parents, aunties, step-uncles and third cousins twice removed will get to cut in line too – that sacred line that previously led law abiding, hardworking immigrants to build this great nation. Barack Obama will keep phoning in and penning the message that he will NOT secure borders, so, hey, extended undocumented relatives, you’re free to join the kids being used and abused to snag that golden ticket. Obama surely knows a nation is not a nation without borders, while we must surely know this is the “fundamental transformation of America” that he promised and some of us warned about.

Congress and American voters, how long will you let Team Obama get away with this? The recent avalanche of devastating crises caused by a president believing he is above the law has set the most dangerous precedent a once-free people can imagine. To encourage and reward lawlessness by refusing to enforce the will of the people as proven by laws passed by our political representatives is the signature of a tyrant. In this case, Obama’s refusal to enforce immigration laws and his blatant suggestion that his chosen illegal activity will be rewarded are proof of his tyrannical tactics. The recent numerous manipulated “crises” have the media pinging and ponging trying to keep up with what is the scandal of the day, which one overshadows another, and how will they distract next, and who’s on first?! Purposeful decisions causing these crises are meant to overload the system, justify abuse of executive power to “fix” it all, and ultimately tighten control of the people.

So, how much more will you take, Congress and We the People? I sense not enough guts in D.C. to file impeachment charges against Team Obama for their countless documented illegalities, so the way to stop this is at the ballot box. To fundamentally restore America to her destined exceptionalism you must get involved and then get to that box. Use YOUR phone and pen to support conservative candidates who will fight for what is right: Constitutionally protected freedom, respected military, free markets to create jobs, and secured borders to protect jobs! We need your help to do this; it takes more than a village to fortify the homeland. ANYONE associated with support for Obama’s deceptive ploys that would stoop to using and abusing innocent children must be voted out of office. ANYONE who has shined the boot that Obama’s put on the neck of our economy and security must be held accountable by those with the legal power to do so – Congress. And then We the People hold Congress accountable. Do not vote for any politician who has gone wobbly on their commitment to respect the will of the people and to fight to defend our Constitution. This wishy-washy status quo has got to go.

It IS for the children.

– Sarah Palin

P.S. I see that HHS is offering a $350 million grant to provide “family planning services” to the children here illegally. The primary expenditure we need to supply in this humanitarian crisis is jet fuel to fly these children back home to their parents.

Politico’s Roger Simon [Democrat] Calls For The Death of John Boehner and Ted Cruz

s-ROGER-SIMON-large

Question: If Ted Cruz and John Boehner were both on a sinking ship, who would be saved?

Answer: America.

~ Politico’s Roger Simon [Democrat]

By Gary P Jackson

Politico has always been a far left website that stoked hate through it’s dishonest reporting, but now they are dropping all pretense of being a legit website and are just becoming another hate spewing arm of the democrat party.

You know, I understand passionate debate, even strong, spirited disagreements, along with the harshest of words, but when you start wishing your fellow Americans dead and start spewing hate like Simon, it’s all over.

In his racist, hate filled rant, Simon latches on to the one SOB that showed up in Washington, at the WWII Memorial, carrying the Stars and Bars, the Confederate Flag. He uses this to attack Senator Ted Cruz and Speaker of the House, John Boehner, and the American people who are well past fed up with our out of control corrupt government.

Of course, the Tea Party is attacked, even though this wasn’t a Tea Party event. [Though it’s been reported members of the Tea Party showed up to pick up trash around the site]

Being a Texan, I have mixed feelings about the Confederate Flag. I understand it’s history, and the fact it’s a source of pride, in the South. To Southerners the Confederate flag likely stirs the kind of emotions Texans feels when they see the Battle of Gonzales Flag. The flag from the first battle of the Revolution. But Texans have never considered themselves part of the South. We’re Texans.

It should also be noted, that when secession was put to the vote, MOST Texas counties voted AGAINST secession. As it is today, all the democrats were crowded into the major towns, and a few democrat controlled counties had the votes to give Texas to the Confederacy. And Texas was punished severely for it.

The fact is though, symbols be damned, the democrat party has always been the party of racism and hate. Nothing has changed except members of the party have become more hateful and more unhinged.

If some guy shows up in D.C. with a Confederate flag, maybe we should take it for what it is, a man with a flag, and leave it at that.

When they start showing up in white hoods with burning crosses ….. oh wait, they’d be democrats!

Let’s look at some of the hate spewed by Simon:

Harsh? Look around you at what is happening to America and you will see harsh. I am not talking about closed parks and monuments. I am talking about the funds cut to nearly 9 million mothers and young children for food, breastfeeding support and infant formula.

That is harsh. Making a war against babies is harsh. And for what? Because Cruz, Republican senator from Texas, has grown so drunk on the sound of his own voice and so besotted with illusions of his own grandeur that he believes halting government today will propel him into the White House tomorrow?

First off, some 80 some-odd percent of the government is up and running fine. The only people actually being hurt are those Obama and his thugs have chosen to hurt. Food stamps, Medicare, Medicare, Social Security, disability payments, and so on, are still coming as promised.

The fact is, all of this “shut down” madness, engineered by Obama and his people, is dinner theater. Bread and Circuses. Entertainment for the ignorant ones among us.

I have no idea if Senator Cruz is even considering a run for another office, but I suspect if he did, he’d have a whole lot of support. That scares the hell out of liberal swine in BOTH political parties!

I DO know one thing, Ted Cruz is doing EXACTLY what myself, and my fellow Texans sent him to do! Imagine that, a politician actually fulfilling his campaign promises!

For what it’s worth, my dream ticket for 2016 is Sarah Palin with Ted Cruz as her Vice President. That would upset the right people in Washington, for sure!

Simon and his fellow hate filled democrats are angry because our government is set up with a system of checks and balances designed to keep Americans from turning into a dictatorship. A source of angst among democrats who long for one.

As The New York Times ably pointed out, this shutdown did not just happen. It was plotted for months by a coalition of more than three dozen conservative groups led by Edwin Meese III. The groups were funded in part by the billionaire right-wing Koch brothers, who wanted to cripple Obamacare. (Koch Companies denies it has supported using the shutdown as a tactic.)

You remember Meese. He was Ronald Reagan’s attorney general, who was forced to resign in the Wedtech scandal while under investigation by a special prosecutor. Today, Meese sees himself not as a sleazy hustler but America’s savior. And he wants to save us from health care.

Shortly after Obama began his second term, Meese went to work gathering conservative influence-peddlers and members of the Tea Party Caucus in Congress to repeal Obamacare. Cruz was happy to act as Obamacare’s willing executioner in the Senate, and pushing a shutdown of government to do so.

House Speaker Boehner eventually went along. It was a blackmail on a massive order: Stop Obamacare or we will never reopen the government.

It is now evident that both houses of Congress have the votes to end the shutdown. But, so far, Boehner will not let that come to a vote. If he does, he is afraid the tea party conservatives will strip him of his job.

The democrats give the GOP too much credit. If there is anything in life that resembles herding cats, it’s trying to get the Republican Establishment™ to listen to it’s base of supporters, and actually grow a pair and fight back!

I always laugh when democrats get all bent out of shape over those “evil” Koch Brothers. I doubt most Conservatives could pick them out of a line up! I know they contribute to some Conservatives causes, which is their right, as citizens, but they also contribute to causes that Conservatives strongly oppose, like amnesty for illegal aliens Fact is, the Koch Brothers self identify as “libertarians.”

The democrats never seem to care where their money comes from though, and while there are a large number of millionaires and billionaires who support the democrat party, the one man who comes to mind, is Nazi collaborator George Soros, the self-declared “owner of the democrat party” Soros, a socialist, doesn’t just give money, he and his people have created hundreds of groups, all that work daily to subvert the Constitution, and destroy the American way of life.

Soros is a genuine Nazi war criminal and one of the democrat party’s big leaders.

Back to the WWII veterans and this shutdown. Those WWII vets fought AGAINST Soros and company, BTW. What does it say about an America where those who merely want the Constitution and the Rule of Law followed, are called “terrorists?” What does it say about an America where those who understand we [as a nation] have already borrowed more money than we can ever hope to pay back, and want some common sense to reign supreme, are called “extremists?”

Talk about hate, the democrat party is spewing it 24/7.

For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?” the New Testament asks.

Kinda rich, considering the members of the democrat party [at their 2012 convention] BOOED the very mention of God’s name when the Convention Chairman tried to put God BACK in the democrat party platform, and democrat loons screamed “Hail Satan!” recently in Austin, Texas in support of abortion extremist Wendy Davis.

Not sure Simon and pigs like him have the moral authority to quote the Scripture.

Are you kidding me? Have you ever seen Boehner’s suite of offices in the Capitol? It would make Midas blush.

Boehner uses the same offices Nancy Pelosi used, when she was Speaker of the House. Speaking of Pelosi and making Midas blush, let’s not forget Pelosi has made tens of millions of dollars while engaged in insider trading! Pelosi and her ilk fought any and all attempts to make insider trading illegal for members of Congress, like it is for everyone else. [just ask Martha Stewart]

Boehner does not bend to the will of his Kamikaze Caucus because he is an evil man. He does so because he is a weak man. To borrow a line from Theodore Roosevelt, I could carve a better man out of a banana.

Here Simon says something that is almost true. Speaker Boehner IS a weak man. He’s also a liberal. The two go hand in hand. Boehner’s real problem isn’t weakness though. It’s understanding Conservative principles, and being willing to actually stand up and fight.

That said, I’ve actually been impressed with Boehner, at least a little bit, for finally growing a spine. He’s only four years too late!

<blockquote? There is a price to be paid for all this. Even if the immediate problems are somehow solved and a government default avoided — for now — the scab has been torn off our political wounds.

This weekend, racism came out of the closet. (Which assumes it has ever been in the closet.)

131013_confederate_flag_white_house_rtr

Oh noes, a scary man with a Confederate flag! He’s also holding a Marine Corps flag. We have no way of knowing if this man is a veteran, but if he IS a Marine Corps veteran, he’s EARNED the right to carry those flags!

You can always tell when democrats are losing the argument, out comes the race card!

Democrats stand up and cry crocodile tears every January for Dr Martin Luther King [a Conservative Republican] and have hijacked his iconic speech, claiming it as their own.

The difference between the racist democrats, and Conservatives is Conservatives actually LISTENED to Dr King and have the same dream.

You see, like Dr King, Conservatives judge Obama, not by the color of his skin, but the content of his character. Democrats don’t want ANY of their people, black, white, or green, judged by the content of their character!

Protesters marched through the streets of Washington on Sunday with a Confederate flag and then a protester lounged against the White House fence with one. Displaying the Confederate flag in front of a home occupied by a black family was meant to send a particular, and particularly repellent, message.

One guy with a Confederate flag, who could have been a plant for all we know, or a sincere veteran who is angry that the democrats closed down his memorial, makes the entire nation racist?

How miserable must it be to be that stupid and that hateful!

There were other signs of our descent. Remember Samuel Wurzelbacher? Known as “Joe the Plumber,” he was selected by John McCain as his presidential campaign mascot in 2008 with the same care McCain used to select Sarah Palin.

Joe the Plumber? Is he still even a thing?

Sarah Palin is very much alive and kicking the democrat’s asses! She was in New Jersey on Saturday helping get Steve Lonegan elected to the United States Senate [VOTE WEDNESDAY] and told the Garden State crowd she thought she and Todd would go stand with the veterans. As you know, Governor Palin’s son, Track, has served multiple tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan, on the front lines. If any mother has a right to be with those veterans, it’s Sarah Palin.

As for McCain’s “care” in choosing the Governor as his running mate, all of the petitions from Americans and inside pressure to choose her aside, she was well vetted by A. B. Culvahouse. Culvahouse, a former Reagan adviser, has vetted numerous potential VP candidates as well as sitting Supreme Court justices [before they were confirmed] Culvahouse is a man of unquestionable character and judgement.

These people are like the man in the cartoon: He has climbed out on a tree limb and is sawing off the limb behind him, imagining that the tree will fall and not him.

They are wrong about that. America will not fall. It will withstand this moment and these people.

He’s right, America WILL NOT fall, but not from a lack of trying by the democrats! The American people are mad as hell. The democrat party may be run by far left, anti-American Marxists, hellbent on destroying the American way of life, but many people who have been reliable democrat voters in the past, are waking up and seeing who these democrats really are.

We may sound sensitive to Roger Simon’s vicious hate speech, but when you see it from democrats on a daily basis, you come to understand this isn’t one loon, or a few isolated cases.

If you are a regular Twitchy reader, you know Michelle Malkin and her team do a really good job of keeping track of all the hate spewed by democrats on Twitter. Not just by a few hate filled loons with 20 followers and half as many tweets, but by democrat party leaders, elected officials, and so on. One of the reasons we don’t write about every hate filled democrat, besides the fact it would take up ALL of our time, is the fact Twitchy does suck an amazing job.

Sarah Palin gets death threats daily, and just a few weeks ago, Ted Cruz’s aide, Amanda Carpenter, was attacked by the democrat party chairman out of Sacramento, California, who said he hoped her children died of a horrible disease!

What kind of animal wishes death on the children of their political opponents?

The other day Cher, who has completely gone off the rails, and regularly spews vile nastiness, wished death on the entire Tea Party. It was this kind of hate that, no doubt, caused democrat Jarred Lee Loughner to stalk and shoot Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords [from 2007 until he finally went on his shooting spree] after Giffords was attacked in print by Daily Kos publisher Marcos Moulitsas, who called her a traitor and placed a bull’s-eye on her. Congresswoman Giffords was one of the last “blue dog” democrats in office. Compared to the radicals in office now, she was almost reasonable on some issues.

If democrats viciously attack members of their OWN party, who dare wander off the plantation, how safe are Americans who want to save our great nation from certain destruction at the hands of these radicals?

One of the reasons I chose to highlight Simon and talk more about him and his vicious hate and outrageous lies, is the fact he doesn’t write for a hate site like the Daily Kos or even the Huffington Post. Conservatives understand that Politico is not a legitimate website. No chance of any of their people being confused for actual journalists, but unlike most democrat hate sites, Poltico is often quoted by networks, cable news outlets, even FOX, and linked to regularly by websites like Hot Air.

Roger Simon is just another in a long line of Politico writers who is mainstreaming hate as a substitute for political discourse, but coming from Politico there an air of legitimacy for some.

America is broken.

We’ve not been this divided in more than a century. The lines are drawn, and contrasts couldn’t be more stark.

On one side, you have a group of radicals who want to push their agenda of tax and spend, and grow an already bloated and out of control government, to unprecedented new heights.

On the other side, you have the American people.

My money is on the American people.

Reminder: Nazis Were SOCIALISTS, Just Like Today’s DEMOCRATS! Nexflix’s Attack on Sarah Palin

netflix_fail

By Gary P Jackson

I know I am not the only Conservative who is beyond tired of hate filled democrats calling us Nazis! Not only is it wrong, ideologically, it’s wrong historically. Nazi is an abbreviation for the much longer Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei or National SOCIALIST German Workers’ Party.

For decades, America’s democrats have been trying to re-write history, calling Nazis, whom they share much of the same ideology with, “right-wingers.” It’s no different than trying to tie the KKK to Republicans, knowing full well that the democrat party created the KKK, and up until June of 2010, had a high ranking Klan member: Senator Robert C Byrd, serving as one of their Senators. A “well respected” man among democrat party members. Byrd wasn’t the only Klan member that served in Congress as a democrat, not by a long shot.

Now of course, there are degrees of socialism, I guess there are degrees of any evil, but all forms of it share the basic tenants, and all forms of it, like all forms of liberalism in general, are incompatible with civilized society. They are certainly incompatible with the American way of life, as we see on a daily basis.

American democrats haven’t started rounding up and killing their rivals … yet … but some of their now mainstream people have certainly advocated just that! It’s a good time to remind Americans about one of President Obama’s close friends [and former employer] murdering domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.

Ayers and his Weather Underground terrorist group, bombers, just like the two murderers up in Boston, wanted to destroy America, and create a socialist state. Ayers, who is now a tenured university professor, knew many Americans wouldn’t be down with his evil plan, and was prepared to murder as many as 25 MILLION people. Ayers’ little fantasy makes Hitler look like an underachiever!

In 1969, Larry Grathwohl, an FBI informant, was at the Weather Underground’s so-called “War Council” in Flint, Michigan. Ayers and his team discussed re-education camps and the likelihood of having to “eliminate” as many as 25 MILLION Americans, the number of people they estimated wouldn’t go along with their maniacal plans. This is something the Nazis actually did, just not on as grand of a scale.

Of course the Nazis weren’t the only socialists to murder millions of their own. Though we tend to refer to the Soviets as communists, people forget the official name of that version of Russia was the Union of Soviet SOCIALIST Republics, or USSR. Lenin and Stalin killed so many fellow Russians, they didn’t have enough competent people left to run the country!

You rarely see democrats carrying Nazi flags today, but yesterday, May 1, thousands of democrats were out there carrying the Hammer & Sickle celebrating “May Day” a wicked leftist holiday, celebrating socialism. Not much difference in the two, except democrats somehow feel celebrating murder and violence in the name of Soviet socialism is somehow more acceptable than celebrating murder and violence in the name of Nazi socialism.

Democrats are quite sick in the head.

Throw in Mao and the Chinese, and socialism has directly caused the murder of around 100 MILLION people world-wide.

Which reminds me, besides Obama adviser Anita Dunn telling school children that the murderous Mao was her “favorite philosopher,” a few Christmases back, the communist dictator made an appearance on the official White House Christmas tree!

But don’t you DARE call Obama a communist or socialist!

By the way, this DOESN’T count the millions of innocent children slaughtered at the hands of Planned Parenthood’s murder cultists. They too make the Nazis look like underachievers.

Why do I bring all of this up? Well, it seems Netflix, the online movie retailer decided to play in the Twitter hashtag game #SarahPalinFilms. They suggested an exceptionally crappy film “Iron Sky.” The ridiculously bad film features a “Sarah Palin like” character, or at least the bullshit democrat version of Sarah Palin, as a “moon Nazi.”

This wasn’t just some off the cuff deal either Netflix created artwork to go with this moronic tweet:

Our friends at Twitchy captured the anger from Americans who were quite unhappy at this. Most saying they would be cancelling their subscriptions. Here’s a few choice tweets:

Netflix does indeed offer both The Undefeated an incredibly well done film and Sarah Palin’s Alaska her great travel/adventure series that set a new record for viewership numbers on TLC.

You’d think a company looking to make money would actually promote both of these fine entries rather than some Nazi BS. As always with democrats, ideology trumps everything, so does their insane hatred.

For it’s part, Netflix is so chicken-shit it tried to deny the tweet came from them. That’s worse than the tweet itself! If you are going to be a worthless hate-filled democrat, OWN IT!

The Difference between Embracing Bipartisanship and Eschewing Obsessive Partisanship

by Whitney Pitcher

The recently passed fiscal cliff deal was heralded by the media as a “bipartisan compromise”.  Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein emphasized that the deal needed a “bipartisan basis”. Republican Senator John Boozman called the bill a “bipartisan solution” that would “tackle the financial troubles are country is facing”. The bill ultimately received a total of 125 Republicans and 219 Democrats between both the House and Senate. The bill indeed was bipartisan, but what was the price of bipartisanship? Eighty percent of the revenue from the bill will go to President Obama’s cronies through incentives and subsidies. The Congressional Budget Office ultimately determined that the touted “balanced approach” really meant that there would be 10 dollars in tax increases for every dollar in spending cuts leading to an additional $4 trillion in deficits.Additionally, the payroll tax holiday expired as part of the deal. It is indeed arguable that the tax holiday shouldn’t have existed in the first place, as the holiday could contribute to the insolvency of Social Security. However, allowing that tax holiday to expire while claiming that the deal didn’t “raise” taxes is a disingenuous claim by politicians pretending to champions for the middle class while 77% of Americans see less money in their paycheck. In order to face the political reality of a looming, media declared fiscal cliff that would have meant deep across the board spending cuts and tax increases, Congress ignored the fiscal reality of our present and future to spend more… but bipartisanship!

The media has touted the bipartisanship of both President Obama and Governor Chris Christie in recent months as well. President Obama has chosen to appoint former Republican Senator Chuck Hagel to be Secretary of Defense. Hagel supported Obama 2008 candidacy and has taken some stances on Iran and Israel that have made many leery of him as a Defense Secretary. Following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy, Governor Christie embraced and praised President Obama’s response while more recently trashing Republicans for ultimately waiting a few days to pass a clean bill for Hurricane Sandy aid, rather than the pork laden bill that Christie preferred. Both of these politicians “sacrificed” in their bipartisanship–Obama his partisan stance for his policy stance and political friendship and Christie his party’s purported conservative platform for his political advantage.

Abandoning a party platform (i.e. principle) for the sake of party happens often in politics. It’s called obsessive partisanship. Congressman Paul Ryan joined in the aforementioned “bipartisanship” when he voted for the fiscal cliff deal, noting that he “had the guts to vote for it” and that allowing this plan to pass meant that “now we can finally debate spending”. However, when Congressman Ryan had the opportunity to “debate spending” when President Bush was in office, he didn’t. As I have written before:

He is an intelligent Congressman who has shown leadership in the House on the budget and making strong stances against Obamacare, particularly the IPAB—the unelected board of bureaucrats tasked with managing how Medicare pays. Ryan has served as a Congressman in Washington DC since 1999 and worked for House members for several years during the early and mid 1990s as well. However, despite his strong stance against the Obama administration’s profligate spending, he also supported the TARP bailout during the Bush administration and the auto bailout set in motion during the Bush administration.

Paul Ryan is just one example. Individuals on both sides of the aisle are guilty of obsessive partisanship. When President Bush raised the debt ceiling, then Senator Obama called it “a failure of leadership”, only to raise the debt ceiling himself in his first term. He is poised to raise it yet again. This is obsessive partisanship. It’s one thing for a liberal or a conservative to vote or govern according to his or her principles. It is another thing to abandon one’s alleged principles for the sake of party or political expediency.

Thankfully, there are some individuals who have eschewed obsessive partisanship for the sake of maintaining their principles. Sarah Palin is a prime example:

She had garnered a reputation for bucking her own party– calling out the Alaska GOP chair for doing party business on state time, taking on and defeating an incumbent governor in her own party, cleaning up the ethical mess caused by that incumbent she defeated, and even suing a GOP presidential administration to enable energy development in Alaska.

There are other examples as well. Just this week former Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate, Adam Andrezjewski filed a lawsuit against Republican comptroller Judy Baar Topinka to make the state of Illinois checkbook publicly available. Topinka had earlier denied Andrezjewski’s organization’s (For the Good of Illinois) FOIA request. He is suing a member of his own party for the sake of making a state in fiscal shambles more transparent. Making state spending publicly available was embraced by Governor Palin as well and is an example of obsessive partisanship eschewed. When Governor Palin launched that effort in Alaska in 2008, it was praised by both Grover Norquist and Democrat Ralph Nader. She willing exposed the spending she signed into law at the risk of political criticism.

This why pro market, pro transparency populism needs to be embraced. Americans have become jaded to politics where their kids’ futures are put in jeopardy because politicians in Washington want to play kick the can for the sake of their own political expediency. Politicians too often point the finger of blame and broken promises only to find that when they point fingers they have three pointing back at them. Is a pro market, pro transparency approach to governance idealistic? Perhaps. Do we deserve it? With our propensity to vote the same folks into office election after election, maybe we don’t, but America’s future does deserve it. We can’t continue to sacrifice our fiscal reality for the sake of our bipartisan, but obsessively partisan political reality.

The Fiscal Cliff–Compromising Our Founding Principles and Holding Hostage Our Future

by Whitney Pitcher

As Democrats and Republicans discuss the media declared “fiscal cliff”, there has been seemingly more rhetoric than ideas and more focus on political expediency than on principle. In other words, it’s business as usual in Washington. Words such as “compromise” and “hostage” seem to be part of any press conference or speech surrounding the debate. Each party indicates a need for the other party to “compromise” so that a certain group, such as the middle class, is not held “hostage” by the other party’s lack of “compromise”. The fiscal cliff and the debate surrounding “compromise” and “hostage” holding are not static in our current political debate. Governor Palin was right when she noted last week that we’ve already reached the fiscal cliff, but what remains to be seen is how hard we’re going to fall at the bottom.  The actual compromise is not a potential one between Republicans and Democrats, but the compromise that decades and decades of politicians of both parties have made with our Founding principles. Those who are held hostage are not solely the constituents of the present, but also future generations who will have to pay for the fiscal failures of the past and the present.

The  media declared, nebulous “fiscal cliff” includes the potential tax increases that would occur if the Bush tax cuts were to expire and the large across the board cuts that would be enacted if sequestration was to occur. If no “deal” is reached, then the combination of tax increases and budget cuts are anticipated by some to exacerbate an already bad economy. In reality, as Governor Palin noted, our nation has already gone over the cliff because of burgeoning deficits contributing to a massive national debt. This is not because of inadequate taxation, but because of big government and poor monetary policy.

Spending has gone up immensely over the past three decades specifically. Per capita spending has gone from  just over $6,000 a year at the beginning of the Carter administration to nearly $12, 000 a year currently. Per capita spending stayed fairly constant at about $8,000 per person through the second part of President Reagan’s tenure through President Clinton’s time in office before increasing again during President Bush’s tenure, as shown below in this graph posted at Reason. com:

The Bush and Obama administrations consistently have spent more than 20% of GDP, which was a rare occurrence in the previous fifty years. Under President Obama, there have been four straight years of more than a trillion dollar deficits, which has lead to his tenure generating more debt than the tenures of the first 41 president (George Washington through George H.W. Bush) combined. Additionally, President Obama has supported quantitative easing stimuli, which have devalued the dollar and negatively affected  both employment and interest rates. While President George W. Bush may have engaged in some pretty extreme “fiscal cliff” diving, Barack Obama has made Felix Baumgartner  seem like a risk averse wimp with the astronomic levels he has gone to in his”fiscal cliff” diving. All of this has lead to the current situation where leaders are trying to determine if our continued fall will include tax increases, mandatory spending cuts, increased borrowing or any combination of the three.

This spending has brought policymakers to a point where charged rhetoric is uttered more frequently than  actual solutions. The word “compromise” is thrown around frequently, which generally means that one party think the other party should abandon their principles to capitulate to them. However, the real “compromise” is one that leaders of both parties have made with our Founding principles of limited government and Founding documents like the Constitution. They all have sworn to uphold the precious document only to treat it as a disposable paper towel when they get in office. They  have compromised their oath for the sake of political expediency. President Obama has indicated that he wants complete authority to raise the debt ceiling  as part of a  “fiscal cliff” deal, which minority leader Nancy Pelosi supports as well. However, the Constitution clearly states that Congress holds the authority to borrow money, not the President. The power of the purse lies with Congress, be it to spend or borrow, yet our leaders continue to try to twist the branches of government where one branch can assume the role of the other and the balance of power becomes moved from its fulcrum.

Additionally, President Washington noted in his farewell address that borrowing money was to be done sparingly and generally only in times of unavoidable wars (emphasis added):

As a very important source of strength and security, cherish public credit. One method of preserving it is to use it as sparingly as possible: avoiding occasions of expense by cultivating peace, but remembering also that timely disbursements to prepare for danger frequently prevent much greater disbursements to repel it; avoiding likewise the accumulation of debt, not only by shunning occasions of expense, but by vigorous exertions in time of peace to discharge the debts which unavoidable wars may have occasioned, not ungenerously throwing upon posterity the burden which we ourselves ought to bear.

President Washington understood something that our recent and current leadership has ignored–who is really held hostage by the political decisions of today–future generations. Today’s politicians act primarily out of political expediency recognizing that if they can make the other party seem like a hostage taker to a certain segment of the population, then it helps them politically. However, the hostage is not solely the current taxpayer, but future generations who will be paying for the fiscal failures and bloated government of past and present politicians. As Margaret Thatcher famously noted eventually you run out of other people’s money. If debt continues to accrue and the dollar continues to devalue, future generations will have to pay the ransom for their own pre-determined capture.

G.K Chesterston once noted of political compromise, “[c]ompromise used to mean that half a loaf was better than no bread. Among modern statesmen it really seems to mean that half a loaf is better than a whole loaf.” Whatever compromise (or capitulation) Democrats and Republicans come to (if they do), the check for the half loaf will ultimately be sent to future generations held fiscally hostage by the compromised leadership of our recent past and our present. We can only pray that someday our leaders will look to Thomas Paine’s words as they make decisions, as Paine said, “if there must be trouble, let it be in my day, that my children may have peace”.

Disturbing Gallup: Most Democrats Have a Positive View of Socialism, Big Government [and so do some Republicans!]

Communism has never come to power in a country that was not disrupted by war or corruption, or both.

~ John Fitzgerald Kennedy 35th President of the United States

I blame the feckless, spineless Republican Party 100% for the results of this latest polling from Gallup.

Communism and socialism are the greatest evils ever foisted on mankind. And yet, the GOP, which is supposed to be the “loyal opposition” to these evils, is afraid to talk about it! The Republican Party’s latest failed candidate for President, Mitt Romney, when asked, REFUSED to call Barack Obama a socialist. That’s right, Mitt Romney refused to call Barack Obama, who was raised from birth by hard-core, Anti-American COMMUNISTS a “socialist.” And the GOP is still trying to figure out why they lost the election!

Ronald Reagan, famously a democrat until the 1960s, railed against communism and socialism all of his life. Reagan understood the evils of communism and socialism. He saw them as barbaric ideologies that destroy humanity. Reagan saw his party, the democrat party, taken over by communists and socialists, and famously said “I didn’t leave the party, the party left me” [a sentiment many are feeling about today’s Republican Party, BTW] But Reagan wasn’t the only well known democrat who hated communism and socialism, and the evils they represent. John F Kennedy constantly spoke of the evils of both, there is plenty of tape of Kennedy doing so.

My point?

Why doesn’t the GOP use this and other information to help educate the American people who have been dumbed-down by liberal run education, liberal run media, and liberal run entertainment?

If they were smart, Republicans could use nothing but democrats blasting socialism and the evil it represents, to defeat today’s socialist-communist controlled democrat party. Not just defeat them, but send the party and it’s failed ideology to the ash-heap of history, where it belongs. They don’t call the GOP the “Stupid Party” for nothing though.

We have a population that doesn’t even understand that the Nazis were SOCIALISTS or that Nazi was short for Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei in English: the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. Instead you have the Nazis described as “right wing” by the media and “historians” in an attempt to re-write history, a common communist/socialist tactic.

In his iconic 1964 speech: A Time for Choosing, Ronald Reagan suggested there was no such thing as right or left, politically, just an up …. or …. down. He was right, and there is nothing that drags humanity further down than communism and socialism…..

….and yet, the Republican Party, a group sensible Americans have always looked to for protection against such evils, remains clueless and unwilling to fight for America against these great evils.

I chose the Kennedy quote above for a reason. We are at war, for sure, but it’s the massive corruption, the crony capitalism, the payoffs to political allies, with tax payer dollars, that is the problem. Barack Obama may be the king of Chicago style, corrupt, crony politics, but make no mistake, there’s plenty of cronyism to go around in the Republican Party as well. It’s this massive corruption in both parties that has allowed the notion of communism and socialism to thrive in America.

We expect nothing but evil and corruption from modern day democrats, but many in the GOP would rather hang on to their piece of the pie than rock the boat. I’m not calling Mitt Romney corrupt, it seems that he’s a rather decent, if not spineless, fellow, but it’s telling that he couldn’t bring himself to use the rather mild [but just as evil] socialist moniker to describe Barack Obama, a hard core, raised from birth, Saul Alinsky COMMUNIST.

You cannot defeat evil with timidity.

Gallup’s latest polling is disturbing, to say the least. It shows that most democrats, not surprisingly, hate big business, capitalism, and embrace socialism. More disturbing is that nearly a quarter of self-described Republicans hold these same views. It would almost seem all of these Republicans are currently serving in Congress or in “leadership positions within the RNC, looking at the state of affairs.

PRINCETON, NJ — Exemplifying a major partisan divide in modern politics, Democrats react significantly more positively to the term “federal government” than they do to the term “capitalism,” while the opposite is true for Republicans. But both Democrats and Republicans are highly positive about the terms “small business,” “free enterprise,” and “entrepreneurs.”

Several very interesting results here. Republicans and democrats both see small business in a highly favorable light. In fact, at 95 and 94 percent, respectively, they are identical in their views. However, democrats are less favorable to free enterprise, 6 points less, and entrepreneurs, 7 points less, than Republicans.

Never mind that pretty much 100% of small business owners are entrepreneurs who rely on free enterprise to survive. And never mind that communism and socialism are the sworn enemies of small businesses, free enterprise, and entrepreneurs.

It would seem there is a disconnect somewhere!

It’s troubling to me that Republicans aren’t answering closer to 100% on all three of these. It’s also troubling that only 72% of Republicans view capitalism favorably, only 75% have a favorable view of big business, and a mind-blowing 23 PERCENT see socialism in a favorable light.

Again, the Republican Party is still trying figure out why, once again, they lost. Not only lost, but lost to the worst president in the 236 year history of our nation. I think we’ve, at least partly, stumbled on the answer.

The idea that any American would view socialism favorably is just hateful, but the results of this polling speak to the absolute failure of the GOP as a political party, let alone protector of Liberty and Freedom.

Gallup conducted a similar poll in 2010, and sadly, it’s only gotten worse:

The chart combines both parties together, but it simply doesn’t compute. While those surveyed feel even more positive towards free enterprise and entrepreneurs now than they did in 2010 [and even big business for that matter] there is a sharp rise in those who favor Big Federal Government and socialism. Both of which are the absolute enemies of small businesses, free enterprise, and entrepreneurs. And for that matter, big business too!

It’s obvious that while pining for more of it, and re-electing the most radical of socialist-communist radicals as President, most democrats and a disturbing number of Republicans, have absolutely no idea what socialism actually is.

At least that’s what I want to believe. The alternative, that the majority of those surveyed DO know and understand what socialism is, and want it anyway, is just too depressing to even contemplate.

The bottom line is 53% of democrats and 23% of Republicans have a favorable view of socialism. That’s 53 and 23 percent, respectively, too damned many!

Thank the spineless GOP for this. Someone should have been fighting the fight against this evil, and working night and day to educate the public. Far too many Republicans were more worried about holding on to their own little centers of power to care.

President Obama Funds a Government with an “Epidemic” of Sexual Harassment

by Whitney Pitcher

As the Democratic National Convention got under way today, the Democrats trotted out in their vagina and “Pillomena”birth control costumes to denounce the so-called Republican war on women. Meanwhile the national debt passed $16 trillion today, with $5.4 trillion of that coming during President Obama’s three and a  half years in office.

Nevermind all of that social and domestic economic policy stuff though, the Obama administration has foreign policy issues to attend to. As the New York Times reports:

Nearly 16 months after first pledging to help Egypt’s failing economy, the Obama administration is nearing an agreement with the country’s new government to relieve $1 billion of its debt as part of an American and international assistance package intended to bolster its transition to democracy, administration officials said.

[…]

In addition to the debt assistance, the administration has thrown its support behind a $4.8 billion loan being negotiated between Egypt and the International Monetary Fund. Last week, it dispatched the first of two delegations to work out details of the proposed debt assistance, as well as $375 million in financing and loan guarantees for American financiers who invest in Egypt and a $60 million investment fund for Egyptian businesses.

Rather than focusing on reducing America’s burgeoning debt, President Obama is extending debt assistance to a country who already owes us more $3 billion, as the Times article later states. But what’s a billion dollars when one’s administration has added $5.4 trillion already, right? President Obama had already bypassed Congress to give Egypt $1.5 billion in March when the then unelected Muslim Brotherhood already held power. Additionally, as noted above the Obama administration has been instrumental in facilitating an large IMF loan to Egypt.

Furthermore, despite the supposed war on women in America, President Obama is extending loan support to a country that recently elected a Muslim Brotherhood candidate to the presidency in June. This president, Mohammed Morsi, promised to select a female VP, but did not, only choosing women for aide and advisory roles. More appalling though, the election of the Muslim Brotherhood three months ago has lead to what the BBC calls an “epidemic” of sexual harassment (emphasis added):

Campaigners in Egypt say the problem of sexual harassment is reaching epidemic proportions, with a rise in such incidents over the past three months. For many Egyptian women, sexual harassment – which sometimes turns into violent mob-style attacks – is a daily fact of life, reports the BBC’s Bethany Bell in Cairo.

[…]

The day I met Marwa, she was wearing a long headscarf pinned like a wimple under her chin, and a loose flowing dress with long sleeves over baggy trousers.

But dressing conservatively is no longer a protection, according to Dina Farid of the campaign group Egypt’s Girls are a Red Line.

She says even women who wear the full-face veil – the niqab – are being targeted.

“It does not make a difference at all. Most of Egyptian ladies are veiled [with a headscarf] and most of them have experienced sexual harassment.

President Obama adds to our debt to help ease the debt of a country that has a massive and real, sustained war on women. Meanwhile, this week, the Democratic National Convention will have women like Sandra Fluke, a 30 year free birth control proponent, speak on a faux war on women and pay homage to former Senator Ted Kennedy who was notorious for leaving a female companion, Mary Jo Kopechne, to drown after a drunk driving crash and for sexual harassing waitresses. Such blatant and out-of-touch hypocrisy.

However, none of this is any surprise to Governor Palin–often the target of the Democrats’ misogyny herself. In February of 2011, she warned of the threats to women’s rights (as well as religious rights) should the Muslim Brotherhood take control:

While the Obama administration claims that such funding and diplomatic support to Egypt is aimed to assist the formation a new democracy, they do nothing of the sort when they aid an ideological group based on harassment of women and religious persecution.

Democrats/Union Thugs Harassing Republicans Nationwide

By Gary P Jackson

Democrat thugs acting like thugs should come as no surprise these days. We’ve seen a continual ramping up of threats and violent rhetoric for the last four years, but several stories have come to my attention that prove it’s time for all Americans to stand up to the thugs who are trying to destroy our Republic.

Everyone is aware of the union thugs in Wisconsin, and their efforts to recall Governor Scott Walker and other Republicans who have been working hard to save that state from financial disaster. This has caused an all-out war between Walker’s team, and the public sector unions.

In an e-mail from the Tea Party Express’ Amy Kremer reveals union thugs threatened Senator Pam Galloway, who recently resigned from the Wisconsin Senate.

Yesterday we reported that we have our first casualty of the union-led Recalls in Wisconsin.  Republican Senator Pam Galloway announced that she would resign instead of face the unions’ Recall and strong-arm tactics of intimidation and harassment.

Now, it has been reported by The Blaze that union and self-proclaimed Recall leader John Spiegelhoff was obsessed with strong-arming and intimidating Sen. Galloway to the point of harassment.  In his emails to her he called her a “pig,” suggested to the female Senator that she should “stay at home, Pam” and cautioned that they were “coming for her.”

We thought these kind of union strong-arm tactics died with Jimmy Hoffa, but apparently they are alive and well in Wisconsin.

It is deplorable that these are the kind of schoolyard bully tactics that the pro-Recall crowd is using.  Like we have been saying, when the unions and liberal left do not have the truth on their side, they will resort to lies and name-calling.

While Sen. Galloway has publicly said that the unions’ harassment of her is not her main reason for her resignation, I am sure that the idea of enduring such personal and rude attacks during a nasty Recall election was not very appealing.  It is definitely no way to treat a sitting Wisconsin Senator, respected doctor and esteemed surgeon.

With Galloway resigning, the Wisconsin Senate is now tied up at 16-16. If the democrats and union thugs are successful in their recall efforts, you could see a shift to a democrat controlled Senate, and all of the necessary reforms Governor Walker has put in place, could be undone.

C.A. Bamforford put me on to this deal, from Washington State. Another Republican state Senator, Michael Baumgartner, who is running for the U.S. Senate, tells the tale of lengthy harassment by democrat operatives.

The harassment has gone as far as to stalking his wife and child.

Baumgartner has written a letter to state democrat party chair Dwight Pelz in protest of these despicable acts:

Dwight Pelz, Chairman
Washington State Democratic Party
PO Box 4027
Seattle, WA 98194

Dear Chairman Pelz,

I am writing regarding the “trackers” you pay to follow me to film me and capture my statements for future use in negative advertisements. These individuals have been a constant presence filming both at the State Capitol during the legislative session and at my campaign events across the state, and have repeatedly identified themselves as being paid for by the Washington State Democratic Party.

While strange, I certainly accept that being followed around nearly everywhere I go like this is a reality of campaigning in 2012, given the state of politics in America. (In fact, I’d never want to deny you the opportunity to hear me criticize Sen. Maria Cantwell for her role in more than doubling the federal debt, or for her repeated votes to authorize and fund the poorly planned wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Hopefully you take notes).

However, last week one of your trackers went far across the line when he decided to harass my wife Eleanor and follow her in his truck as she walked through a dark parking lot at an event in Lakewood. It would be unacceptable for your operatives to do this to anyone, let alone a young mother, at night, going to fetch food for her infant son.

For background, this individual had been refused entry by the hosts of a private evening meeting of the Lakewood Republican Women, and was asked to leave the premises. Instead, he first snuck around the back of the meeting room and tried to film through the windows and then later sat in his truck outside the entrance.  Eventually the hosts called the police, but your tracker still waited outside in the public street until we left the premises some hours later.

I met Eleanor in Afghanistan, and I’ve seen her negotiate with tribal chiefs in Helmand and she’s run ultra-marathons through the desert. She is as tough as they come and can handle herself just fine.  But this experience was frightening for her, and was completely inappropriate behavior on the part of the tracker.  Please have it stopped.

It is a privilege to be a public servant, but our family shouldn’t have to put up with you paying some creepy guy to follow my wife and harass her.

It reflects poorly on the Democratic Party in Washington State, and on American politics in general.

Thank you for your consideration of my request. I hope we can work together to have an interesting and informative campaign in the months ahead, conducted in the civil manner the citizens of Washington State deserve.

Sincerely,

Michael Baumgartner
Washington State Senator

It’s one thing to keep track of ones opponents in a campaign, but this is just insane. Obviously the goal here is to harass and intimidate. Again, the American people simply cannot tolerate this sort of activity. It undermines the very fabric of our society.

I continually hear from people who ask why we can’t get good and decent people to run for elected office. Things like this are why.

Now lets go to Virgina.

In Fairfax County, middle school students were forced to do opposition research on all of the Republican candidates, find their “weaknessses” form a strategy to exploit those weaknesses, and then forward it all to the Obama regime.

This is so inappropriate it’s difficult to even put into strong enough words. It’s the sort of thing that should get this teacher fired, but since she too is a member of a union, one of the strongest unions, nothing is going to be done.

From the Daily Caller:

A Virginia middle school teacher recently forced his students to support President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign by conducting opposition research in class against the Republican presidential candidates.

The 8th grade students, who attend Liberty Middle School in Fairfax County, were required to seek out the vulnerabilities of Republican presidential hopefuls and forward them to the Obama campaign.

This assignment was just creepy beyond belief — like something out of East Germany during the Cold War,” one frustrated father, who asked for his family to remain anonymous, told The Daily Caller.

The assignment was for students to research the backgrounds and positions of each of the GOP candidates for president and find “weaknesses” in them, the parent explained. From there, students were to prepare a strategy paper to exploit those weaknesses and then to send their suggestions to the Obama campaign.

These are just a handful of stories of what is going on nationwide. We are in the fight of our lives for the very soul of our Republic.

The democrats and their union thug partners will stop at nothing to win this war. They feel they have nothing to lose, as they know good and decent Americans are beyond fed up with their shenanigans, and want to bring this nation back in line with the vision our founders had. A vision of Liberty and Freedom, and prosperity.

Oh, and if intimidating Republican politicians isn’t bad enough, now a “band” is openly calling on it’s fans to kill Rush Limbaugh.

Can you imagine what would happen if one of us called for the death of a democrat? Any democrat?

We simply can’t stand by any longer and allow this to stand. Conservatives have our own inner struggle with the Republican Party, and it’s a big one, but we simply cannot allow attacks by democrats to go unanswered. We must stand up and call evil out wherever we find it. We must defeat these people.

UPDATED! Palin Power: Florida GOP Speech Raises More Than The Democrats Raised The Entire Last Quarter!

Sarah Palin is welcomed to the stage by Florida Gov. Rick Scott during the Republican Party of Florida Victory Dinner at Walt Disney World. (Joe Burbank, Orlando Sentinel / November 3, 2011)

By Gary P Jackson

Sarah Palin was Tea Party before the Tea Party was cool!

~ Florida Governor Rick Scott

There is a bunch of positive media about Sarah Palin today, including this from the end of a longer Yahoo News report:

State party spokesman Brian Hughes wouldn’t say how much was raised at the dinner, but said, “On this night we will raise almost as much as the Democrats reported last quarter.

That figure is $894,445.

There were around 1,000 people who attended the Florida GOP event.

Kinda makes you wonder. If Sarah were to run for president, it seems she could, as Governor Haley Barbour so eloquently put it: “raise enough money to burn a wet mule!

UPDATE

Turns out I wrote this too early in the day. It seems Sarah actually raised MORE in one night than the Florida democrat party did in the entire 3rd quarter.

I changed this post’s headline and URL to reflect this.

From the St Petersburg Times:

Last night’s Republican Party of Florida dinner featuring Sarah Palin raised between $900,000 and $1 million, party spokesman Brian Hughes tells the Buzz.

It’s a whopping haul that exceeds what Democrats pulled in for the entire third quarter ($894k). Hughes declined to name donors but said some of the money could be put towards voter registration, a top priority of Chairman Lenny Curry and Gov. Rick Scott.

Strong, strong, strong.

Harvard University Warns Democrats Not To Take Their Kids To 4th Of July Parades

By Gary P Jackson

Well, at least the U.K.’s Daily Mail does!

It seems Harvard University did a study, no doubt funded with taxpayer dollars, and came to the conclusion that kids under the age of 18 who attend Fourth of July parades are more likely to identify themselves as Republicans. Wonder what this august university would find if they studied kids who were taken to those May Day celebrations? Would they identify as hard core communists, or just European style socialists?

Knowing that the Fourth of July celebrates our nation’s birthday, and has strong themes of Liberty, Freedom, and the American way, it’s no wonder those in attendance would , at least marginally, lean more to the Conservative side of things.

Frankly, I put little faith in these kind of studies, but just in case, if you know any democrats with kids, see if you can “borrow” them for the day and take them to the nearest Fourth of July parade, picnic, what have you. The more kids learn about Liberty and Freedom, the better. The future of the Republic depends on it!

From the Mail:

Die-hard Democrats may want to keep their children well away from July 4th parades, according to a new Harvard study.

Researchers at the university claim youngsters who attend the patriotic events are much more likely to grow up as Republicans.

And it’s not just children – the study also claims that adults are more likely to vote for a GOP candidate on election day if they go to one of the parades.

Fourth of July celebrations in the United States shape the nation’s political landscape by forming beliefs and increasing participation, primarily in favour of the Republican Party,’ the report says.

Harvard Kennedy School Assistant Professor David Yanagizawa-Drott and Bocconi University Assistant Professor Andreas Madestam claim the right identifies itself more closely with patriotism and that Republicans believe they love their country more than Democrats.

The report continues: ‘The political right has been more successful in appropriating American patriotism and its symbols during the 20th century.

Survey evidence also confirms that Republicans consider themselves more patriotic than Democrats.

According to this interpretation, there is a political congruence between the patriotism promoted on Fourth of July and the values associated with the Republican party.

‘Fourth of July celebrations in Republican dominated counties may thus be more politically biased events that socialize children into Republicans.

The study found that for youngsters under the age of 18 attending the parades, the likelihood of them identifying as a Republican goes up by at least two per cent.

It also raises the possibility of parade watchers voting Republican by about four per cent.

By the same token, Democrats gain nothing from the independence parades that are held in towns and cities across the nation.

There is no evidence of an increased likelihood of identifying as a Democrat, indicating that Fourth of July shifts preferences to the right rather than increasing political polarization,’ the authors write.

Surprisingly, the estimates show that the impact on political preferences is permanent, with no evidence of the effects depreciating as individuals become older,’ says the study.

Irrespective of political allegiances, the researchers say people should head to Republican strongholds if they want to have the most patriotic fun.

Republican adults celebrate Fourth of July more intensively in the first place,’ they say.

So, according to Harvard, Republicans not only love their country, and the Freedom and Liberty we all enjoy, more than democrats, Republicans also have more fun while doing it!

Oh, and once you start loving Liberty and Freedom, you don’t stop!

Maybe I was wrong to discount the results of the study after all. Seems like it’s spot on!

Happy Birthday America!
